  1. how about adding the step up lights ford seems to be using now to this chop.
  2. leave the IRS for the Explorer, the solid axle should remain in the ranger. no need to add an expensive irs in the ranger, just add some better shocks, which should help some.
  3. I agree, the Market is dieing, and Ford seems to be the smart one, not spending a bunch of money that they'll struggle to get back, and just keep reeling in the profits from the Ranger, as it has payed for itself plenty of times over. It's a good truck that can take a beating. The 3.0L is a dated engine, but it's not so bad. EDIT: The Ranger place 3rd last year in sales, and is currently 2nd for this year. There are some new features for the Ranger for the 2007 Model and they are:
  4. It's a Hydraulic Hybrid, not Hydraulic Luanch Assist.
  5. yeah, those ones do looks better with the grille being the same color as the rest of the truck.
  6. The Ranger doesn't get that much more milage than the competition, not nearly enough to make a difference. People will see it as out dated and lacking. I never said it had to grow in size, just in capability. A stronger, boxed frame, more powerful engines that are also more fuel efficent, 6 speed automatic trannys to further the fuel efficiency, possibly even a 6 speed manual instead of the 5 speed, a NEW interior, and a Hydraulic Hybrid model(That should easily get 40-50mpg!) Given all this, and it can either top or at least match others in other catagories like towing, payload, hp/tq., then it will sell like hot cakes. This CAN be done, especially with things like DI.
  7. That Ranger is ugly and falls short to the competition in NA. Towing capacity up to 3 tons? The Frontier gets up to 3.25 tons. Even more for the Dakota. If they have a new Ranger here, it needs to kick everyones ass, not fall short in comparrison.
  8. eh, I don't really like it. I prefer my 05, thanks.
  9. Well, I'm not against it becoming 'midsize', but I am not for it either, if anything, I think I lean more towards your side, keeping it small. But enough of this talk, lets see more photoshops!
  10. Can someone please give it some bumpers, instead of a just a single body? Thanks.
  11. your changes made it look much nicer, even being the minor changes that they were. good job.
  12. very nice photoshop FUD, but would it be too much to ask for some bumpers? Like seperating the front section from the body, and perhaps adding a rear bumper...or perhaps a Pre-Runner/Baja Truck version? perhaps a front bumper like that?
  13. I'm not against building a retro truck, I'm against replacing the Ranger with a Retro truck. And for the reasons I stated, I don't think the F100 name should be used, but like I also stated, it's a name, and if it were used, I'd still buy one.
  14. Thats exactly what I am thinking, and this photoshop doesn't show a Wrangler fighter, but a shortened version of the edge.
  15. I'm with 01FOCI here, we need an "original" bronco, a true Wrangler fighter!
  16. well, I wouldn't mind you picking up on some designs off of it as well, like seperating the bumpers, making a Reg. sized Bed on the 4dr w/o that fugly cab extender thing, and maybe a reg. cab model, we seem to have a Supercab model...
  17. the problem I have with the F100 name, is the F, the F-Series trucks are ALL Full-Size, the Ranger is not, thus I do not think it should get the F designation. Giving it the F would tie it into the F-Series sales, which would be an unequal balance. I also believe Retro is not the way to go with a pickup, you could possibly through in some cues here and there, and should keep the general theme of your trucks alive, but to go full on retro with a pickup, I believe is wrong. You also need to appeal to those who use your trucks. When you take a look at Desert Racing, you see Rangers and Tacomas, and they shouldn't abandon these people at all. Thats why I noted the seperating of bumpers, as these people would have to do some serious cutting to get it like the current Rangers, were you can just take them off, and attach your new pre-runner bumper w/ skidplate. I wish they wouldn't retire the Ranger name, but then again, it's just a name, and I could live with it being called somethign else, I just don't believe it should be F100. Well, that's my rant...
  18. http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=147 somebody already started, and then was taken up by another person. Still needs even more work in my eyes, as seperating the bumpers from the body...
  19. Hmm...some things tat could make it more Ranger like..modify the bumpers...or lack there of. Add a Rear Bumper, and transform the front into one, protruding out slightly, like the picture of my Ranger when I brought it home. I'd hate to try to make a prerunner bumper for that...eek...cutting! 5 High-Res Images of my Truck(When I got it, got some KC lights now!)
  20. so basically we get a nissan/toyota...call them as you may, I see a Ranger.
  21. lol. (if you didn't get it, none of those have V8s)
  22. I remember seeing that car at the Living Legends tour(Ford deal, where they went to dealerships) and it was nice. The engine compartment was really clean. A very nice vehicle indeed, and one they should build.
  23. it does look close, but also very nice, and as if it could be the next ranger.
  24. umm...can I trade mine in for this one? plz...
