Well some of us marketable electricians at KCAP with more than 10 years are talking seriously about leaving. What we see with Ford in the future is not as good as it is now and now sucks compared to 10 years ago. I along with others can and will find better work outside of Ford. Most of the electricians here from the IBEW are taking a long hard look at this for sure, as well as serveral pipefitters with outside experiance. What ever Ford does after these guys are gone so be it they don't want skilled trades much any way.

I've been wondering for a while now. He went from a mispelling off the wall poster to a over educated english major in a few months. Maybe he thought no one was paying attention, reminds me of management though.

Management at its best, the ME manager made promises that his foreman didn't keep. That is the way these non-maintanence guys have ruined maintanence at Ford. With this round of buyouts maybe it is time to find someone who respects us to work for.

Sorry but Igor is a cheerleader on every post he puts out. Management bashing was not for the old management for me, when I hired in in '92 things were different than now for sure. Remember that Bill Ford was chairman of the board when Jac the knife became CEO. So in more than one way he did bless what he did before it was so ugly that he handed Jac the golden parachute and toke over. In hindsight Bill should have kept a better eye on Jac and asked what are we doing in case of a market shift instead of playing with the Lions in his spare time. Styling is only part of the problem, the other is that with all the termoil in this company since the firestone shit people don't want to look at Ford right now. They are waiting to see improvement in the leadership first.

Don't you know that they teach anti-unionism in college. This has been going on for years, a long time ago I dropped a class in college when the teacher and I were in a heated debate about unions. He said they sucked, my responce was that he sucked and since union money put me in his class I didn't think he needed to be paid. Unemployment low? If someone takes a job for 1/2 the money and no longer files for unemployment makes the economy better? Or the ones that have been out of work so long that they have no unemployment? Or the 45 million Americans without medicial insurance? Tell me how we are better off now than 6 or 7 years ago. Now take what you said and be an employee in a plant. Moral is at an all time low, whipsawing plants against each other for future cars and trucks, and management running scared. Now more than ever the debate on taking a buyout or not , will Ford be around in 10 years, How about the UAW will they make it? Way to much to digest and I am surprised now one has gone postal yet. The best part is I am at a plant that always has had part of it working 10 hour days and saturdays (trucks or escapes) in the last 14 years, and they are still uneasy.

Looks like you better clerify what you mean here crack. I see some of what I think you meant if you are refering to some of the recent reworkings of contracts and such. Before I will judge what you meant why don't you enlighten us?
