  1. Good god almighty, the idiots are still running the company. Maybe they can come out with a car called Cyclone or something else stupid and bring it back as a rear wheel vehicle and make sure it looks dorky and is slower than slow. Then they can update it slightly and rename it the CV and everyone can do cartwheels... idiots.
  2. And we know this is the gospel truth because it is written in capital letters. :glare:
  3. Actually Duke, they did impeach Clinton. He was allowed to serve his term out as was the only other President to be impeached, Andrew Jackson. The Senate vote did fall short of the two-thirds majority required for conviction and removal from office under the Constitution.
  4. Next quarter buddy... next quarter.
  5. Well why don't we help... I know I belong to more than one forum and I think this will find it's way on to the others.
  6. No blizzard, no parts in the ocean, good old bad parts from France and they had to fly tranny's in at the cost of $650,000... now you know why your buyout checks are taking so long. They don't want to fly, or rather pay anymore so TCAP might be down for a few weeks until the new parts start to arrive in about 27 days.
  7. Brother you are loaded anyhow, an lousy $62,000 won't even show up on your bottom line this year. I'd be surprised if you haven't got your FICA already paid up. :tease: Actually, I wish you the best of luck and don't forget us grunts you left behind my friend. Take that money and have a party. :party2: Later
  8. Give it a hump for a back end and call it a 300
  9. You must live in Eastern Canada. I have talked to people in Western Canada and National healthcare works just fine over there. I wonder if it isn't more to do with the people involved than it is the blame of National health care. Name one other manufacturing country in the world that doesn't have national healthcare paid for by the goverment... and you don't think it would help Ford? Please. What are we paying right now? As I have been told, there is more money to be had but we would have to do with less benefits... like healthcare. Half of what we make in compensation is money, the rest is for our benefits. I think we are paying a considerable amount, we just don't know it because we don't see it.
  10. I think the MKZ starts out at 29,900 and is pretty nice. To get the price you want the next one would have to go to Mexico as well and I don't want that. I think the Town Car is in the 45-55,000 range so this one might fall in the middle, spot on.
  11. They are kind of limiting there choises of where else they can put the vehicle aren't they? With all the plants shuting down they really are kind of crying wolf. It would cost far too much to restart one of the plants, that is if they haven't already sold the plant land, or have an agreement to sell.
  12. Area management has hurt the trades in so many ways we couldn't list them all if we wanted to. Every department now has it's own small parts bins, what use to be the supply for the entire plant is now multiplied so each department has what it might need. If we don't we still steal from another department and it comes out of their budget anyhow so why not pool the resources and go to a single supply point? It would greatly reduce the redundancy but... it will cost management jobs, and it makes sense. We'll never see the day.
  13. I know that the local personal at TCAP reads the rants on here. What I don't know is why. Are they doing it for entertanment or did someone from Detroit say something about what was being put out from TCAP on BON which has inspired some of the locals to jump. Everyone knows that the plant level likes to send the message up hill, when the message comes down hill they start to point fingers.
  14. From what I heard it is true. I have seen the people in the plant for TPTers as well. Top plant people say it is still a go... but they are keeping saliary people until Febuary... since they are sooooo important.
  15. If they had a brain they would have won. I really don't care what the other party does, the election is the Democrats to lose and the idiots find a way far to often.
  16. What middle class? Are there still some out there?
  17. Face it, Kerry is an idiot, the Democrats are idiots. If they had a third of a brain between all of the Democratic leaders they might actually llok beyond the East coast for a canidate. They have given us almost nothing to vote for in the last 2 elections and they still almost won. If they had a brain they might actually put forth a canidate who could win. Lets see who they give us to vote for this time.
  18. Try as I might, I can't find where Toyota has been building Tacoma's or Tundra's for 80 years in this country. That was one of the conditions that the poster you quoted and are trying to make fun of posted wasn't it? Maybe in another 60 years or so you might have a point.
  19. My brother use to by cheap used cars and then he spent roughly a car payment a month fixing it. He now buys used cars but they are all low mileage vehicles and he still spends money on fixing things. I spend more for a car payment but rarely ever have any problems till I'm near or over the 100,000 mark.
  20. That tells me that we are starting to get back to quality engineering, something Nasser felt we didn't need. The 500 is a great car. It has a front end that does not match the car and no flow. I like the idea of keeping the greenhouse but we need someone to cut loose the designers on the rest of it, front end, hood, fenders and truck lid. Add the 3.5 and this vanilla cone now will become the seller it should be.
  21. Either he is very smart, or his people are very smart. I read this as the fist step toward national healthcare which would really level the playing field. By doing this we will see if a national healthcare might work on a small trail basis without jumping in head first... very smart.
  22. Considering I merely perused this thread I might have missed a reply however I do take exception to the notion that Ford built the middle class as opposed to the union. Does anyone out there really think the workers would have the wages they have and have had if it left to the company’s discretion? If so, why are we having a chops busted now? What do you think our wages and conditions would be right now without a union? I think Ford would probably hire someone for 18 million and give them 600,000 shares of Ford stock... oh wait, they already did that. I think they would increase the ratio of salary to union... opps, I guess they are doing that too. I think Ford would be even more messed up today if it were not for the union as hard to believe as it might be. Ford is its own biggest problem right now and the only thing the union is guilty of is helping them.
  23. The plant manager has no authority. Can't sign a piece of paper unless his DOM says it is OK, can't fire anyone in salary unless he gets the OK from Detroit, can't buy a $8.77 can of paint without autherization. You might say "Get rid of him", I say get rid of all the levels above him that are doing his job for him and make him do his own job. If he fails, get rid of him, if he excels, then promote him.
  24. 1. You don't lose any holidays 2. You get paid 8 like now 3. Same vacation as per the contract. Company saves quite a bit from only running 4 work days, that is there incentive.
  25. You have been around long enough to know that the top people have a language of their own. He is most likely admitting the cuts will reach very high into the Glass House. Personally, when I do the math I come up with 28,000 salary and 50,000 hourly when this is all done. Less than 2 workers for every one salary person is too high. I think Mulally needs to cut about 18,000-20,0000 salary jobs in his first swing.
