  1. The wheels are its members dumbass (thats my new saying, best way to put it). by the way I use that saying all the time, have a nice cup of STFU!
  2. I would like to know what facts anyone has that a grievance was closed out, if not then shut the fk up! The UAW settles many grievances whether guilty or not with packages. Just depends how strong the company's case is......also the company fires many without cause!! That is why we have the grievance procedure....man nice to seee we have a bunchof shit house lawyers. Where did they find these guys!!
  3. from what i know of him i also agree! cb
  4. wow, you take that as arrogant? GM, Chrysler will eventually get theirs!! As far as VEBA and General fund goes, the uaw isn't selling its assets because they like too, they are selling it because of a decline in membership and cost structure that can not afford to keep it running. So this is not extra money the UAW is going to have laying around! Open your fucking eyes, you seem some what level headed, they are not selling because they want too, they are selling it because they have too! Our retirees, my father and mother do deserve more, but more is not going to be paid by the UAW, they did notretire from the UAW and the we the workers are not going to pay for the obligation of the company paid retirement or health care! I am aslo pretty sure that a national Agreement has been voted down, and it was only a small portion of a national agreement that was being modified.
  5. You know what is great about this site, dumbasses can come on her and talk about shit they know nothing about! My first statement says if the companys are doing better the UAW can go after addition money for the VEBA, what is arrogant about that? If it is sold it will go into the general fund, the UAW did not fund the retiree VEBA and they are not going too. The members did not work for the UAW they worked for the company, represented by the UAW. So there will be no motion to fund any VEBA, the UAW is more than just the big 3 dumbass! I thought you were smarter than that liquid, my bad!
  6. new hires being majority, there is no mechanism or scenario that this would ever happen!
  7. Not going to happen, but I will tell you what will happen.....if GM and Chrysler do make it through this bankruptcy, the UAW will be asking for additional money to help fund it. The Ford Veba will be fine, it will have some challenges, but way better off thean the other 2. Ford also cashed the Veba out instead of stock option, but the UAW did secure warrants for the stock at $2 which can be sold at anytime...so I do not think our retirees will be losing dental and vision. As long as there is no dip in the market we should be fine!
  8. FYI, the only way to open a grievance that has been closed out is through the Appeals process spelled out in the Constitution ONLY! So Bob, Ron or Chris Viscomni has the authority to re-open a grievance that has been settled! Get your information correct asshole!
  9. The only week subject to change is probably the second week, so be careful. I heard some plants may be off 2 weeks in July instead of splitting weeks. Chicago area may want to keep a close eye on this! I have a buddy that works at the Assy and he heard the weeks will be the 5th and the 12th of july, so looks like the 5th is probably for sure thing!
  10. You are correct Fired.....and even after the contract is over the UAW is not going to forget about you if you have not been placed or have not taken an offer, just that offers are not coming very quickly these days, but before they can hire any entry level you must be asked for placement!!
  11. Hey salaried fk, those givebacks were to improve the Ford motor company that we all work for. When they are healthy, so are we as workers. This is why our negotiators negotiated to save Ford, not to save them short term so that they can give back salaried cut backs while the hourly still take cuts. That is the BS that will bite them in the ass come 2011. Can't wait till I get mine back when the company is truly better and this short term crap. This is a slap in the face to all employees, hourly and salaried! They should be using extra money to pay down the debt and if they wanted to give something back, it should have been benefits that they took from you and your family. That would have been a little better to stomach than the BS they are giving back! just fking stupid and the UAW realize that upper management does make dumb decisions and that is why they work to make tough decisions for its members that try and save the company and the reason why they demanded the letter on equity of sacrafice, because they figured there would be some dumbfk move like this! Brilliant guys(ford exec's), this is what got us in this mess!!
  12. I feel the same as you, they should use this money and money the company plans to give back to salaried to help pay down this debt!
  13. You are wrong I have a buddy on the committee, and they said Mod said he was not doing it and he didn't support it. I talked to him again this morning and he said that he has changed his mind. This should have been a none issue, hell the IUAW should not have had to bring it up, the chairman should have instructed his committee to just filed a grievance on it, it is a direct violation of all our rights. No Brainer...duh!
  14. Every Local Union should be filing a grievance...this is a direct violation of our Agreement. No different than a overtime, shift bump, harassment or any other violation the company makes. Our rights are being violated and the local leaders should stand and file a grievance. I heard VD leadership said that they were not filing a grievance...WTF? What a JOKE!
  15. Just learned the reason Ohio lost their HMO was because the insurer wanted to charge 80-90 million iver what the plan should have cost. The VEBA trust said no fricken way...the insurance company thought they could charge whatever they wanted and the UAW would have to take what they were offering....thank you UAW and trust officials, the overharge they wanted to steal from the VEBA is almost the exact amount it cost the VEBA to pay for all retiree dental and vision. Again, this company had no idea that the UAW would take away the HMO. Fkers wanted to steal from the trust......now this insurer is back at the table and want a piece of the pie!!
  16. Again, I do not want to hi-jack this thread, but unless you filed the grievance and heard it, how in the hell do you know the details? I do not know all the details so I am not going to speak on it!
  17. Again...I am sure there are details that you or I do not know and I am sure they are not exact, because no 2 cases are exact!
  18. I don't know a lot about that, but there is more to the story....there was a grievance filed for the 2 individuals and the grievance was won....right/wrong or indifferent! Not saying I agree or disagree because I don't know enough about that case, but do know there are more details! Sorry...Back to topic!!
  19. FYI trades at DTP are not DTP employees they are from another unit (M&C), you would not have any preference in another unit, just DTP and DTP does not have any skilled so you have preference over no one! So what you were told is still correct, unfortunately your plant is serviced from another unit! So you are ILO status for openings and will have to wait until your seniority dictates a move. Sorry! For all others please make sure you aare going to a plant that has skilled trades!
  20. I think he was talking about those who do not have prod. seniority, if not then sorry!
  21. ? people with the voting power voted the last modification down that gave you skilled rate of pay. Have to wait till 2011 and try and get the same. As far as seniority into production, only if you had production time!! I can't get skilled seniority until I have been a tradesperson!
  22. Highest seniority in your trade working production "at that plant"....but BINGO! Just look at the hierarchy....you will be step one is the best way to put it!
  23. where in my post does it say anything about bumping? I said you will be working at your new home plant as production and as that plant needs trades you will be offered in step 1 of the hierarchy!
  24. Don't know any Gainer, but I am sure if he told you something it was true, but the interpretation that you used is in-correct. What you are saying is true unless you come from a closed facility. If you are coming from a closed facility and transfer on a permanent posting to another facility that becomes your new home plant. So now you have that as your home plant for all purposed, and under the hierarchy you will be recalled at that plant before a skilled not at that plant regardless of seniority because that is your new home plant!
