Are Ford and GM separate companies YEs or NO thats all Im saying is yes they are!! right or wrong So if GM has the JSP problem and Ford does not we should give it up?? Because if we did trust me Ford will then find reasons to layoff thousands that they would not have had they kept JSP. Thats a fact.. And tell me why Chrsler did not take that $ 1 wage cut in 06 like GM and Ford employees did! Oh ya that was pattern bargaining right!!!!!

We are gonna get a oversight board with a judge and he will rule with the hammer! Just like the commissioner does in football. Just like baseball did after the blacksox scandal when they gave that judge full rule as the 1st sports commissioner. Alot of what corker said will happen. I agree with the VEBA part because if the companies go under like he said thats ballgame no VEBA. And taking stock for half of it is not all bad at least the companies have a chance to survive long term, which in the end is better for ALL parties. I fully expect a cut of $10 an hour in pay and benefits. And whats wrong with fixing the attendance problem ie FAKE medical claims.Im not against legit claims only the bogus ones and we all know its going on!! If U dont want to work 40 hrs a week for 48 weeks (minus our payed 20 or so holiday's) then find another job its that simple. I'll bet Toyota dont put up with that bullshit.

Fact is I got seniority Ill have a job. If they had 5,000 employees left I'll be one of them!! But Im not one of those high seniority assholes Im really concerned about my low seniority friends! Until Ford takes govt money there is no need for them to give up the JSP.... We can all take a pay cut to keep JSP at least through 2010. I'll vote for that.What about u?? Will u take a $2 an hour pay cut to help fund JSP for another year?? I would We cant just throw guys out the door with no notice. Most workers bought stuff thinking they had JSP until 2011 and most could not make 2 house payments without the JSP money. Name call all u want to I dont care but we are 1 union at Ford and we need to take care of the lowest members who may be laidoff.

And we will get one. Again GM is gonna have well over 10K people laidoff after they close 4 plants this month and next. Ford has a manageable number laidoff GM does not! Arent they adding shifts to KC,DTP, sterling and a transmission plant soon? And I'd say they will want to keep people over to back fill MTP when it reopens in 2010. And since Ford will not be accessing these loans anytime soon they will offer buyouts again and will have alot of takers on them this time. With a pay cut coming alot of people will take the $ and retire this time.

I see the poll all over the TV today saying 61% of americans do not favor a bailout of big3. NO SHIT!!! I hope Obama and the democratic party can see through this BOGUS poll. Example I believe this to be true If they took the poll with 50% republican voters and 50% democratic voters U can bet your ass that at least 45% of the GOP people polled are against it! And of the aoverall 61% against I'd bet the RED states that Obama didnt win 90% are against it. But of the blue states he won 80% are for it. Now I hope Obama is smart enough to see through this poll bullshit. He and the democrats need to take care of there own here and forget those red states because he aint gonna win anymore red states and quite frankly he and the democratic party doesnt need to. Giving these loans will give the democratic party even more votes in these blue states and will keep and maybe add to there house and senate lead in the next election in 010. Now Democrats in States like California Oregon Washington and the New England states are against this bailout, but the democratic party is in NO DANGER of loosing any of these states on this issue so they can just write these states off anyway. These states have all voted for Clinton twice Gore, and Kerry. They are true blue states just as Tennessee Georgia mississippi and Alabama are red states. These states are be the same color for at least another decade probably longer. BUT if they allow the big 3 to fail then a 3rd party will come up and take away democratic votes in 010,012 thus giving the GOP alot of victories. As happened with Nader in Florida in 2000.

We dont get to to vote on eliminating JSP. Ron G said so today. He said any FURTHER wage concessions will get a vote though but JSP does not require one. GM has no JSP now. Ford should keep theres UNLESS they access the govt. money..This is how it has to be Ronny dont FUCK us again

Dude WE work at FORD not GM. GM is our rival. There is a poll out there that said 80% of GM buyers would buy a car from Ford and vice versa if the other went to bankrupcy. Meaning ford's truck sales for example would go through the roof!! They would sell at 2004 levels. Ford would make an immediate huge profit because not only would there sales be way up but they would have pricing power due to suply and demand. The rebates would be very small if they had any. Ford would be the #1 auto company in America within 3 months after GM goes into bankrupcy. Not fair to GM workers but its a reality that GM needs cash today to survive Ford does not! We all know if the loans dont pass whats going to happen, GM and Chrysler said basicly they r broke....period having said all that they better approve these damn loans!!!!! And again WE work at FORD therefore I want Ford to survive and be #1 some day! Dont you???

Well well I now see where Paulson wants the other $350 billion so he can give it away before Bush leaves office. He and Bush want the money IRRONICALLY next week. We all know whats going on here dont we?? Bush will make a deal with the democrats to give big 2 and chrysler the loans they want in exchange for the democrats freeing up that other part of the $700 bill TARP fund. will there be a deal?? who knows but Paulson said last week he did not need the other half now all of a sudden he does. And Pelosi said yesterday the $ should come from the TARP fund. Put 2 and 2 together. Trust me Bush does not want to go down in history as the president who let GM go out of business. He is already the FIRST 2 term president to leave office with the dow jones LOWER then when he took office. GOOD JOB GEORGE!!!!!!!! Your TAX cuts for the rich worker after all. just like Hoover and Coolidge's "TRICKLE DOWN" tax cuts for the rich worked. One thing is certain if the money does not come from the TARP fund then GM/FORD will not get it because it will not pass the senate. There will be at least 41 republicans against it!!

Yes Im affraid that is middle class for now on my friend. both spouses working pulling in a combines $30-35K is middle class in alot of southern states already. Cost of living is also cheaper down here in the south. The GOP thinks 20K is middle class Thanks to all the UAW Republican voters you just voted yourselves out of a job and pension Lets elect another one in 012!! I agree 100% So when ford sells or closes the ACH plants are they gonna layoff my friend at the sandusky plant with 27 yrs while a guy with 6 yrs is still working at avon,lima,walton hills and brook park? Is that fair? HELL NO and if it happened to you you would be pisses also. Brook Park,Avon and walton hills are not in great shape for future products just remember that before you say you dont want a natl list. I know theres alot of people at avon with 91,92 seniority. Brook park has alot of 94's. All Im saying is in 2 years or less anyone or all of these plants could be closed and do we really want to put a guy with 19 years in at avon for example out of a ford job while guys with 7 years stay??? Like I said before if thats the case ford will layoff shifts at high seniority plants and add them to plants with low seniority so NO one will get there 30 years!! ask yourself y did they delay the 2nd shift at DTP?? Could it be they knew there was gonna be an elimination of GEN and a natl list for transfers is coming?? I'd say yes

Sarah Webster the auto writer for the free press in detroit said on TV that retiree benefits will and have to be on the concession list along with wages and current employee benefits. She is a good auto reporter and has been on our side for as long as I've read her stuff.
