If Ford were to go 10/100 on the warranty and stand behind their stuff I would consider buying one again.

The extended warranty is only as good as the dealer that issues it. A friend of mine bought a brand new Camaro in 95 and paid $700 for the extended warranty. At 50000 miles the engine blew, it was covered under the extended warranty. The dealer handed him $700 tore up the warranty and said the engine would cost him $3500. What a bastard.

I gave you the answer you just didn't read it. 1 When the harsh engagement started I called the dealership and they refused to fix it. I HAD to have the vehicle in running condition so I had it fixed. 2 Shortly thereafter I found out this is a common problem, and that there is a technicle service bulletin describing it. It turns out that they put the wrong tranny fluid in at the supplier. 3 I soon got a letter in the mail from Ford stateing that they put in the wrong tranny fluid and that I should take it in and they would replace the fluid free. I called the customer service line and told them that I had already had the trans repaired due to the fluid problem. She said that Ford was not responsible and hung up. 4 20,000 miles later the tranny imploded, once again Ford refused to repair it, I had to. 5 Last week the rear diff went out, once again I had to repair it. It's out of warranty 70,000 miles. My brother had the same problem with the rear diff and they repaired it. After he threatened to shove the rear axle up the service managers ass in front of a showroom full of potential buyers.

Personally I would like to have one of the Mazda station wagons. I saw one here awhile back, schoolbus yellow, black leather sport seats with the big stichwork and the cool sport gages......cool little car. I can't remember if it was a 6 or a protege but it was an 05 model.

Aluminum IRS, ....Junk! Also turns the bacxk of the vehicle into a giant loudspeaker when the ring grear goes out. Good towin ability,....if you only tow a push mower around. Six speed, ....since the 5 speed turned out to be the biggest turd since the AXOD-E. That is just nasty!

Just think about this, If Toyota or Nissan link up with GM, you wont see japanese GM's running around. More than likey you will see a real truck that looks a lot like a chevy with a jap logo on it. Neither of the Japanese comapanies seem to be able to get the big truck thing right and with this they would get one handed to them.

I got the same crap with my 04 Explorer. 20K miles tranny slams into reverse.(TSB #17883 -- DELAYED/HARSH REVERSE ENGAGEMENT. *TT (NHTSA ID #10008268, JUNE 01 2004) Cause: Ford supplier put wrong tranny fluid in trans. Repaired reverse solenoid valve body. $600 out of my pocket 22K Ford sends me a letter that says I nned to take it in and they will chabge the fluid for free because they screwed it up. I call Ford and explain (politely) that I have had the tranny repaired because of the screw up and asked if they could reimburse at least part of the $600. They said it was not a Ford problem and denied the TSB above. 30K rear diff makes whinning noise. Ford supplier made bad ring and pinion sets and some clutch packs and also left additive out of some rear ends. 45K Transmission implodes. Previous problem chewed up planetary gearts and clutches. Replaced trans. $2890 out of my pocket. Ford again refused to address issue. 80K rear diff locked up. Replaced with used one. $500 out of my pocket. If Ford would have even attempted to make it right I would consider buying a new Ford, but untill then I will go with a GM or Dodge. Ford needs to treat its customers better, period.

I'm partial to the Ranchero. I just saw one in town yesterday at a used car(junk) lot. Somebody took a Ranchero body and put it up on some small truck 4wd frame. Black primer and the body waves goodbye to you as you pass. I'm thinkin about stopping in a slapping them on principle.

There are two Falcon Ranchero's down the road from me in a barn. One has a 289 the other is a straight 6, I think it is a 183 or something like that.

I dont think so. There are still a lot of big guzzlers out ther on the road just gulping down the fuel. Only recently have people started buying the small cars. Why do you think the big 3 and even the imports are putting so much into big, heavy vehicles?

I think this will be a 35 to 40k car. Even with a V6, probably close to 50 with a hemi. Not in my price range at all.

Colorado is crap, newver had any trouble with S-10. Ranger-Good if it has 5-speed, crap with automatic. And before you say it I had 2 Rangers and liked both of them. 94 4.0 5speed was excellent. Well for starters in a V6, V8 have two cams in ohc which have to be timed correctly and then there is the extra mecahnicals used to drive both of those cams. F O R D Do I even have to fill this in???

A freind of mine from high school works at a Dodge/Jeep garage, he says they had more problems with Neons than just about anything except for the Dynasty. He sadi that car was the worst peice of crap they sold. Neons though had problems with head gaskets(glue on some), transmissions were crap and paint peeled like a dry onion. Also had lots of dash electrical problems. That doesent make me want to try out a PT.

Exactly! Why the crap does everybody have to have a different motor and different tranny every frickin weak? Be like The old GM, almost every motor bolted to almost every tranny. Use the same motor with a few tweaks and improvements for more than on damn model year!

The neon was crap, that's waht pissed me off about the PT . I would have bought one except that it was just a cool looking piece of shit neon. My 03 Cavalier LS Sport rides better , gets better mileage and looks pretty nice for a cheap little car. It has the 16 inch sport rims and the body kit with fog lights. The front seats sucka ass on a long trip though, I'm fixin to replace them.
