I was thinking set a box at the locals and fill them up. I talked to a friend who's a steelworker and he's going to set up a box at his local. I'm even thinking a few dealerships may be willing to get in with a box. I'm thinking a semi full of shoes dropped off at his office.

He said wall street guys making more in a day than an autoworker makes in a year are complaining about the uaw causing the big 3 to go broke. He refered to people making 70 million a year that are capable of moving paper from one desk to another but can they make a fender or put in a transmission. Good to hear somebody take up for us.

Have you guys looked at sales lately? We could be working for free and the place would still be going out of business. Do you think the guys in the glasshouse are worried about this place? I would say only the one with his name on top of the building. The others are just bleeding the place dry and then they'll blame the business going broke on the uaw and move onto another company to do the same. When they work for 15 bucks I will too.

I'm not so sure. I think with all the rebates on trucks, they may be making more of a profit on the tours. Don't forget there is a gift shop. Heard no downtime till Dec. ,but I wouldn't plan on any overtime.

We have enough tools walking around DTP we could retool all the plants in a matter of weeks.

The quality thing doesn't work. We all know they have started with shutting the best quality plants and are working their way down the list. So with our quality and the Henry statue on Miller road, we obviously will be the last plant standing. Plus we have a tour and a gift shop. And about the 2012 plan, How many times has the plan changed since the original way forward plan? About twice a year for the last 7 years. I don't think they have any idea what is going to be happening in 4 days, much less 4 years.

We have some trades people who transfered to dtp from nap with the product who haven't been placed yet. They went straight to gen.

Also, I'm insulted at the thought that anyone at DTP could be a liar. It must be the guys at KC.

Our management told us we will retool in Dec for the 8 ft and reg cab. It won't take 6 months to do it unless they have trades do it all on 40 hrs. What does osha have to do with deciding how long it will take to retool ?

I don't get having a trade and going back to production. That's the point of having a trade. Most all the trademen I know who took the buyout from nap have found good jobs.

I'll chime in as another from nap who likes it up here. It's a nice change of pace after being in va my whole life.

We had a guy at nap who was caught putting two hot dogs in a bun. He is known as double dog.

Was told today no down weeks in June.

We work 7 days and get 2 off then work 7 and get 2 off and then work 6 and get 4 off. So the first week you get wed & thur. The next you get fri & sat and the next week you get sat,sun, mon & tue. Then the next week it starts back with wed & thur. That is only in the truck plant. Trades in the other plants, engine,frame ddmp ,have different schedules.

Just wait, I'm sure we'll all be getting plenty of downtime.
