  1. I remember having to remove the strings from my kid's computer at home when it got hit with the Anti-Virus 2009 bug. It took several hours and having to work with DOS commands. That was tough. BTW, congrats, Nick! Looking forward to seeing the photos (couldn't open the ones posted previously) and how it drives.
  2. That's right, Frontline. Maybe they have a lot of the current parts that need to be used up so they're enticing it a bit? I'd take a current model with the heated/cooled seats.
  3. Perhaps it was the informational brochures that dealerships receive. I forget what it's called.
  4. Hey, Duckracer! I really hope you're not BS'ing me about this. That's one of the extra features that I was hoping for. :hyper: :hyper: Now, I'm really looking forward to any press releases on it.
  5. Here are mine: GT: 0-60 in 4.3 sec, 1/4mi in 12.6 sec V6: 0-60 in 5.3 sec, 1/4mi in 13.7 sec GT500: 0-60 in 4.0 sec, 1/4mi in 11.6 sec Of course, the wife doesn't want me to get another Mustang after the last speeding ticket.
  6. Perhaps this would sound odd, but have you had a tune-up done on the Escape yet? Wondering if it may be associated with the plugs and/or wires. After all, it is 7-8 years old with 83K miles. Just a thought.
  7. Is this happening on just the 2008 models? So, I shouldn't be concerned for my 2007?
  8. Sorry, globe9! I just checked to see if the Ambient Lighting was a factory option on an Escape XLS. Unfortunately, it is not. The dealer would be able to install it, though, as FordPaul stated.
  9. I just checked and found that the current incentives for my area are: - special financing plus up to $2,000 - $2,500 rebate I guess they're not too bad. Too bad I'm not quite ready to buy one.
  10. I am thinking that the best time to buy one would be in the Spring/Summer time...that's what I'm hoping for. Right now, in my area, there's a combined $2,500 rebate or special financing plus $500 or something like that. Anyway, I'm hoping the incentives go up a bit more later. Of course, if you were to wait until the 2011 models arrive, the incentive MAY be a bit more, but not necessarily. As far as pricing goes, since you said that you have the X-Plan option, you have two options. First, and this is best if you really don't like to negotiate, the X-Plan is the simpler way to go since that price is stated right on the invoice and can't be negotiated. Second option is to negotiate at invoice price. That is the usual price I go with. When you compare the two methods, there may be a few hundred dollars difference between the two. However, the difference could go either way depending on the vehicle and the options. I would suggest, when you're ready to buy and a vehicle is already in stock, that you go in and just be straight forward and say that you'd like to see the invoice for the vehicle so you could compare the more beneficial pricing. A lot of times, they should not have an issue with that if they know that you are serious. Either way, the best deal is the one that you are happy/satisfied with. Good luck! Post any other questions, folks here normally are happy to help.
  11. During the recent blizzard, I was able to move about with no problems in my 2007 Mariner V6 AWD. I noticed a slight spin on the front tire when she seemed to kick into all-wheel mode because the spinning stopped and I felt more of a push than a pull. I like the AWD feature. I have it on my MKZ and will get it in my next vehicle which will likely be another Mariner.
  12. Hell Heck no Toyota isn't going above and beyond! They're just covering their ass a$$ after being caught in their deception.
  13. While I am one that will typically purchase the ESP, I'm not in total agreement with the maintenance plans. The way I understood them, I would actually be losing money on it. Although I don't put too many miles on some of my vehicles, I try to have them serviced at least every 6 months. When I was talking to the dealership folks, they said that the maintenance intervals are mileage based. So, in my case it would not be a wise purchase. For example, my 2003 Mustang GT currently has less than 6,000 miles, and my 2009 MKZ has less than 2,000 miles. If I had purchased such maintenance plans, I would have been able to use it twice for my Mustang and not even once for the MKZ. I wish the plans were time based rather than mileage based. Of course, I may be wrong on the understanding.
  14. I don't believe so. In fact, I think I remember seeing it on the passenger side A-pillar when I was looking at one.
  15. I hope the 4 wheel discs AND the driver side A-Pillar grip/handle return. I have them on my 2007 Mariner.
  16. Just saw a commercial with her a couple of times over the weekend.
  17. I've seen in another thread that the order bank for the 2011MY opens in March 2010. So, has anyone heard/seen any updates on the Escape and/or Mariner for 2011MY? Thanks!
  18. I concur. It's all personal taste. I bought the Mystique (actually, 2 Mystiques of which 1 was a "mistake" due to electrical issues) over the Countour, Mountaineer over the Explorer, Mariner over the Escape, and MKZ over the Fusion and Milan. Now, in contrast, I picked the Mustang over the Capri. Again, all because of styling. If I was considering another small car, I would have to see what the Mercury and Ford versions look like before deciding.
  19. Okay! How about Photon, Proton, Proteus, Neutron, Atlantica?
  20. Having said that. I guess the delivery would also be affected by where the destination is.
  21. I'm no pro at this, but here's what I saw when I looked up your VIN. According to the sticker, it was dated 12/16/09. So, I would probably expect it to be arriving at the dealer real soon. My MKZ sticker was dated 11/10/08, and it was at the dealer lot within a week. However, in your case, there may have been some delay from the holidays. Someone with more insight may shed more light on your request. Good luck and nice car! :beerchug: WindowSticker.pdf
  22. If you're replacing just the bulbs, I would suggest the Sylvania SiverStars...or even the Ultras.

Yeah; I know. So did the Mystique's. The tech explained that this was possible depending on the type of driving. Again, just a thought.

This may be a stretch, but have you checked the spark plugs? I understand if you do a lot of start-ups, the plugs could go sooner than expected. Had a Mystique whose plugs had to be changed at about 45K miles. The only other thing I can think of is if you're running some accessories that are creating more of a drain. Good luck!
  25. Do I know the answer? Nope. I, personally, would hate to use mine for that kind of purpose. However, I wonder if having a boot cover would help with the weight distribution to some degree.
