  1. Silverados wouldnt even fit on most of the roads in Europe ....I was in Ireland a few years ago driving a Peugeot and a front end loader was going the other way. He had to pick the bucket up so we could get by!! Besides at 1.30 euro per LITER who the hell could afford to drive one anyway?
  2. How much excitement do you need from a car? They're transportation! Most people want dull boring cars because they cant or dont want to pay for an exciting one. Want an exciting car? Ship an old Chevelle or Camaro or Mustang over to the UK...that is if it will fit on the roads and you can afford to fuel it. Thank the EU for getting rid of EXCITING cars over there.
  3. Gee...a Chrysler product with a bad ball joint? SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!!!!
  4. I was for a few months... they closed after 30+ years in business. Not enough sales. I also worked at one for a couple of years before. Now I work at a used car place-lots of junks to fix but hey at least its work.
  5. So what does this mean for the Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep dealers? Business as usual? How do the service departments get their warranty claims taken care of? Warranty money is a big chunk of a Chrysler dealers business. Chrysler was a poorly run fucked up company years before this...Its gonna get really bad now :titanic: :fan:
  6. Theres a lot more than 1100 of those engines out there...more like 110,000. Avalons, Siennas, Camrys, some RAV4s. Glad I dont work there anymore-that hose is a bitch to replace This is nothing new either this has been going on since that 3.5 came out-what was that in '04? whenever the new style Avalon came out. I was doing those almost 3 years ago. What the hell was Toyota thinking? All it is is a rubber hose with 2 regular hose clamps. Some engineering intern must have penned that one.
  7. So who was the dumbass who recommended tire pressures of 26 psi on those Explorers? Was it Firestone? Or a Ford engineer? THATS one of the reasons they rolled over. It was a combination of things that conspired for that debacle.
  8. " For Whom the Bell Tolls " by Metallica...it seems to be tolling for everyone right now. :titanic:
  9. Well if all your competition turns into dust you will be competitive...pretty good strategy. Then again, no competition for the first 70-80 years is why the American automakers are in the shape they are now.
  10. http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/02/20/business/gm.php Sad article. I bet Anderson, Indiana is not the only place where this is happening. I feel terrible for all those people around the country who are losing jobs in the auto industry. Unfortunately I am one of them.
  11. Good for Ford. Ive gained a lot of respect for them in the last few months for doing things the right way, unlike the two other automakers :slap: I just hope that after all their good moves that GM or Chrysler don't go under and take Ford down with them.
  12. It makes me sick, the bonuses these high up execs get! I heard one on TV the other day saying if they didnt give huge bonuses they wouldnt be able to keep these guys! What, 2 or 3 million a year is'nt enough? Heres an idea pal, and its coming....NOONE is going to be giving those bonuses anymore. If no one gives them then whats the incentive to leave the company?
  13. Seat belt warnings that ding incessantly until you put your belt on.
