i have to strongly, yet respectfully, disagree with my buddy lapsergio. at LAP, our FPS/CIWG was a total failure mainly due to the fact that team leader was a bid job. a person doesn't get to be the best person to lead a team by having the most seniority. our system at LAP would have always been far better if those jobs were appointed by the members of each team. in theory, work gropus working with mgmt should be able to resolve issues and make things better for all parties. but when the leader is not a leader, but simply the oldest guy there, the system is failed from the start.

well, CAP is going to one shift. i hope thats not news to you.

whoever told you that, has never read the contract. good luck to you, but thats not how things work.

we're in the same boat at LAP. last summer we slowed the line down to 57 JPH, from 81 JPH. did this in order to stay on 2 shifts. now they increase the line speed up to 64 JPH and cut a shift. although our future is much less uncertain than yours. CAP should be a thriving plant in the future.

LAP does not run on friday's now. i talked with labor relations management a few weeks ago about this topic. there is no plan in place for anybody to analyze safety related weather issues and decide whether to run the plants or not. regardless of safety issues, we just run our plants amd hope enough are able to make it in to run. another area where ford is about 50 years behind the times.

i think its bullshit. thats info that your chairman should have, but i don't believe it to be true. i know a few guys that have recall rights, and they still have recall rights. most of them have about 8 years of seniority i believe.

asbestos clean-up...thats contract work. state training is required for asbestos cleanup and disposal.

this could be a tad off topic, but your post reminded me of something i heard a long time ago... "economists have correctly predicted 10 of the last 2 recessions".. whatever the topic, its always doom and gloom, yet we plug on and everything is fine. some people just prefer to wallow in misery.

the higher taxes are, the less money people have to buy cars, the less likely you are to have a job...should be easy to understand.

never happen, IMO. plenty of land at KTP to put a supplier park there if needed. i enjoy reading these rumors, and am glad people share their opinions. but folks need to understand that its just another of a thousand shithouse rumors.

the more we give, the more they can spend. enough is enough. and it pisses me off when they use global warming (a naturally occuring event) to raise taxes. thats all this global warming crap is...a way for gov't to have more control over peoples lives and their wallets. and you know whats really scary? many in our society welcome that.

check out this part of it. fighting climate change..LMAO. how can we gight something that the earth naturally does? how will we fight it when the earth goes througn a cooling cycle? how will keep other major changes to our planet from happening?? wonder what we did to cause tectonic plates to shift over millions of years?

i'll say it again. they suck goat balls up there. evertime i have ever had to send them anything, i've had to do it twice. no way in hell the mail gets lost that much. its a bunch of incopetence that should be outsourced to people that can do the job. THEY SUCK
