  1. I am going to dash your hopes. The unit in question is just being painted here, then off to the Pilot Plant or Ontario where the rest of them went. That is where that unit will eventually be built. We do this with future F series as well.
  2. Ain't gonna' happen...... Mulally knows the UAW is in no position to strike. We'll give up some pay and increase our health care costs without any kick back. Watch...
  3. The article I read, stated that Ford would announce, by mid-summer 2007, which plants would be closed. The article continued to state that no plants would be closed in 2008. Most would close between 2010 and 2012. The author was only an analyst, not an auto insider.
  4. MTP will start sending employees with 1-23-95 seniority to DTP on March 19. Don't know how many total people will leave, but all who've been asked have accepted the opportunity to leave MTP and hope for greener pastures at DTP. Good Luck to all of you who are going.
  5. Not too mention all those product redundancies....... What to keep,, and what to throw away...
  6. Sounds like sour grapes to me pal..... You're a day late and a dollar short. Like the man said,,,,,Retire and enjoy your life. Alot of other folks would like to be in your shoes. Be thankful for what you've already had in your life, you've been blessed and probably don't even know it. Good Luck to you sir.....
  7. All very good points, and I agree with most of your comments. However, I don't believe the domestic manufacturers would discount their products if the health care burden was lifted, ie..national healthcare. Their profit margins would get healthier, but they would still lose out to foreign automakers due to americans looking for a bargain. The squeeze on U.S. automakers is only going to get worse in the future. The only way these companies will have a chance at succeeding in the marketplace is through innovation. Building great " must have " products, stylish, fuel efficient, and not too expensive vehicles that are very well marketed. Can or will they do what it takes to survive? That, ultimately is the question that will be answered within the next decade. And unfortunately, these actions can only be executed by our highly over paid and unamaginitive managements teams. I'm praying for 25 and out.
  8. Depends on what neighborhood they're from I guess,,,,,others are trying to put kids through college.
  9. I believe you are confusing Ford Motor Company with your Friendly Neighborhood Ford Dealer. Two different entities there friend. And yes, it is something that the Company will have to deal with. Some dealers are better than others. Sorry you picked a bad one. Hopefully, one day they will all be stellar. Not trying to sell you on Ford, just hoping that you'll see where your problem actually lies.
  10. The schedule I recieved states that May is 5-8 ramp up to max at 5-10 + every other Saturday starting mid June. April is 5-10 with 2 Saturdays starting on the 14th.
  11. MTP cannot keep TFT's working more than a shift or two. Is this scenario playing out at all locations, or is MTP special ?????
