  1. Why would they offer a big signing bonus??....to shove a shitting contract down our throats and the only way to do it is to throw out $10k so all the people living paycheck to paycheck and the pillheads will jump at the chance for what...$5k after taxes and then get screwed for another 4 years without rasies since 03...benefits lost forever and no cola....easy no for me.
  2. it's as quiet as I have ever seen for a contract in my 23 years....this is not good. Get ready for a "no" vote.
  3. In my opinion as long as we have two levels of pay buyouts will be a staple in every contract from now on!!!
  4. let the company/union play games all they want...they have painted themselves into a corner on this issue and have given themselves no chance of passing this contract thru without this issue being corrected prior....so play on guys....it's will be a clear no vote from the membership in regards!!!
  5. No way this could be true since all the transfers down to Kentucky go on and on about how tough the union in Ohio was....I call B.S.....not suprising!!
  6. I agree 100% and it should have never happened....just making sure everyone was aware that they had returned to production....where they should have been all along.
  7. Those guys were forced back to the line after shutdown...so they are no longer acting as skilled trades
  8. I thought we took the Health Care over when the genius move of VEBA was installed?
  9. COLA is a step in the right direction....but will it be as it used to be where it's rolled into the base wage at each contract...or left on it's own so that it can be taken away? That is a good starting point for me....because atleast we don't lose ground to inflation.
  10. That is incorrect...Ktp only had approx 200 openings...they will fill quickly...LAP had over 1800 and only about 800 put in to transfer so they certainly didn't get their numbers....KTP will be filled...LAP will be the openings if any.
  11. 45,000 Union Workers at Verizon walk after the company asked for concessions after posting a 6 billion dollar profit in the previous years. The head of the union said that this is not GM or Ford and they walked. Now this is a lesson the UAW can take on how to negotiate with a company seeking concessions after earning 6 billions last year...sound familar? http://www.christianpost.com/news/45k-verizon-workers-strike-for-fair-contract-53516/
  12. Not sure of Inspector layout but I can assure you without question that NO pipe fitter jobs were posted...LAP is rumored to need pipe fitters but according to the company pipe fitters are heavy at KTP. That is not the case in my opinion, but the rumor of openings is just not true. If a pipe fitter position opened in Kentucky it would only be at LAP....hope that helps.
  13. Incorrect on this matter.....The UAW selected the Arbitratior and Ford agree...UAW was very pleased with the selection....but nothing is ever guarenteed until it's done.

    COLA

What you failed to add into your thought process is it's not so much what we get.,...but what they lose. That is the threat of a strike. Ford loses about 17 million per day based on last years 7 billion U.S. profit when the U.S. Operations are down so let's flip the thought process...is it really worth Ford to fight a 3% raise when being down 3 month and losing about 1.7 billion makes that .84 cents seem trivial...catch my point? Its never about what you gain when your dealing with a company this size, but the market share and profits they could lose. I don't want Ford Stock to drop either but neither should Ford for a .84 cent raise. The average Ford UAW employee has lost over $30,000 in the past 6-8 years on concessions....when is enough enough? I don't care if we lose money on a strike to finally say that's all we will take because Ford has more at risk then we do...do you really think they want to strike when they are having their best years since the late 90's.....hell no, but if the UAW doesn't get the balls to convince the company that our membership is tired of being the 1st to be cut and are fed up with losing to inflation the past 8 years and that a strike is possible...then why don't we just laydown and let them continue to run over us. You want wages frozen, benefits cut and things in line with GM and Chrysler...then you should have taken the bailouts and filed bankruptcy. They didn't because they won't allow the goverment to run their company and they aren't...but don't expect the same benefits as the other two goverment run automobile companies....can't have your cake and eat it too. So if we strike for 3 months....so be it. Concessions returned and a guarenteed raise all 4 years thru Cola or otherwise or it's a easy no for me.

    COLA

Our union leadership at KTP was one of the few that voted against the last concessions...glad we have someone at the bargaining table. Scott Eskridge told the membership here he voted against it and told the leadership we had given enough...and the membership agreed. All people down fall in line with Kings desires....everyone up North is not a puppet.
  16. KTP Chairman Scott Eskridge was one of a few that told IUAW to shove the last set of concessions up their ass and instructed us to vote no...said we had given enough. Vote count shot the concessions down overwhelmingly and Ford announces 1 billion profit the next day...Scott is for the membership....even if the IUAW doesn't have the pulse of the membership.
  17. But what you fail to include in your numbers is the fact that the 3% IS FOR LIFE.... which means someone with 20 years left makes $36,000 OVER THE REMAINING TIME BEFORE RETIREMENT...much better then $5K PROFIT SHARING YOU JUST GOT! How can you profit better from profit sharing when it's not guarenteed? In my 23 years half the years I didn't even get a check at all...and who wants all my raise based on all the decision made by the company with no imput? We have to get COLA back in the mix....only way to get fair raises based on inflation. Thats the problem with the younger work force...guarenteed raises are for life and raise your pension....payout alittle cash at signing or on profit sharing and that is a one time deal...no comparision in my opinion.
  18. Why are you giving info about your thoughts of what the "membership wants" and your ideas for the contract discussions when less then a month ago you stated that "discussions/negotiations would not begin until the equity in sacrifice grievance was settled" yet your putting info out to the media? Did i miss the big settlement that came our way? Settle the grievance, include some guarenteed raises in the coming contract or get ready for a big bust at the voting booth when we shove in back at the IUAW just as the last time you tired to shove more concessions down our throat!!!!!
  19. Sounds like we are eligible for a upper management or up north Union retirment offer....finally!
  20. Here is a perfect example of how the US Upper Management is grossly overpaid compared to the Foreign counterparts. This is a article from 2008 which states that Rick Wagoner(during the GM crisis and on the verge of going out of business) was paid 14 mil per year total compensation yet his counterpart at Toyota had a compensation of under 1 mil. The article states also how it's amazing that the US Automakers are outraged at the difference in our total compensation as union workers compared to the non-union yet don't seem to have a issue with theirs. Read for yourself... http://joulesbeef.newsvine.com/_news/2008/11/19/2128569-ceo-of-gm-makes-14-times-what-ceo-of-toyota-makes-but-we-are-to-be-outrraged-the-employees-get-double-what-toyota-employees-make
  21. Alan can keep his $27 mil per year, but where I have a issue is the "one ford one team" he pushes. We all get a profit sharing this past year...lets say for argument sake that each employee got a 10% profit sharing based on $100,000 to make the numbers easy.(actually it was prob more like 6% considering eligible pay) Thats a $10,000 profit sharing for you and I and every other union employee...in this seniro! Alans pay last year was 27 mil yet he get almost 53 mil profit sharing!!!!!!!!!! Thats a 200% profit sharing and his pay never was reduced and is never brought up when it's time to cut labor costs. If we are "one ford one team" then why did we all not get 200% profit sharing...I sure could have used an extra $200,000!!! Bottom line is the 27 mil is not inline with what Ceo's make for the foreign automakers, yet he wants our labor costs in line with them when we as a total group make up 8% of the cost of making a car. When will the lowered labor cost be reflect from the top down?.......since we are "one ford one team"
  22. Lets see..foriegn competition pays executives in the same position about what our Plant Managers make...about $300k and they do just fine. For almost all of my 23 years at Ford we have been trying to do what Toyota does and they are run by a guy making about 1/27th of what our CEO makes and kicking our butt until recently. Unemployment is running rampant...quite sure very talented and successful and qualified people would line up for this position at even 10 % of his salary. Hell, hire the Toyota CEO...if he takes 10% of Alan's salary with bonuses from this past year he would go from a pay of approx. 300k to 8million...prob could get someone.
  23. Putting your time in at Ford and receiving a pension and benefits is far from a handout...SCAB!
  24. my understanding is that the receiving unit can knock you out for medical, bad work record, or bad attendance....you what the word is.
