  1. Whenever I have my iPhone plugged in to the USB port, the Sync system locks up, won't connect to the phone via Bluetooth or USB, and simply states "this media device is unavailable." Can't use any AppLink apps. Now that I'm writing this, I realize that haven't tried CarPlay, but I will. If I unplug from USB, Bluetooth works fine and I can then plug into USB to charge, but if I change audio source or go to another screen (e.g., Nav), I cannot go back to the audio screen or reconnect to Bluetooth until I unplug USB. I am pretty sure this problem was caused by the recent iPhone software update as everything was working fine when I got the vehicle, but want to see if anyone else is having issues on a different iOS version. Trying to find someone who hasn't yet done the upgrade to see if the iOS is really the cause. I have a TMO iPhone X running 11.2.5. Thanks!
  2. I had a long drive the other day and the radar detector finally locked onto GPS after about 30 minutes, so something is causing an issue. I normally have it on a BlendMount under the rear view mirror and moved it to an open space in the windshield to eliminate any possible interference from all the stuff above the mirror, but same issue. I know the 9500ix has a weak GPS receiver so that, combined with whatever is on the windshield, is likely causing the issue. Toll tag continues to not work and I continue to be billed based on my license plate.
  3. Are the 18 Expeditions and Navigators still the same as far as second row bench and cargo area dimensions go? Need to get seat covers for the back of my 18 Navigator second row bench and the company can only locate 18 Expeditions to make the patterns. I know in prior years, while the vehicles were different in many respects, they were built on the same platform and had identical dimensions, at least for the second row and cargo area. Posting this in the Expedition forum as it seems to have a wider reader base than the Navigator forum and I don't want to cross-post. Thanks!
  4. My SunPass doesn't work consistently no matter where I mount it (tried the frit next to rear view mirror area and assorted other areas). On the SunPass system, they can charge you based on your license plate so I can see when I am charged based on the transponder and when I am charged based on the plate. Transponder worked 1/16 times in past few weeks - rest were based on license plate cameras. They sell an external transponder, but your account has to be reviewed before they will sell you one! Not sure what the big issue is there. Same issue for my community gate transponder - had to do an external mount (small mostly clear sticker blends with headlight, so not too bad) And now my Passport 9500ix radar detector has trouble locking onto GPS (the GPS works fine if I open the sunroof and hold it outside, so the unit is working properly). Tried various mounting locations - same issue. I've read that these types of windshields also cut down on a radar detector's efficiency. Ugh. Not spending on a built in as I don't do that much driving on open roads (usually in traffic commuting). All that is enough to convince me that there's some coating or metal baked into/onto the windshield to prevent signals from passing through reliably.
  5. Does anyone hear a slight wind whistling sound from the windshield starting at 40-45 mph? It's subtle, but it's there. Can't hear it with normal conversation or the radio on, but if everything is off and just driving on a smooth road, it is audible. No water coming in and it's a lease, so I'm not going to take it in unless it worsens. Just curious if it was just me. Thanks! Also, for those coming from an Expedition, do the doors (and the vehicle in general) feel much bigger than the Expedition? I know overall dimensions are nearly identical to prior year Expeditions, but everything feels much bigger.
  6. Agree on packaging. Why wouldnt you allow a second row bench on a black label Navigator? Also, their nav systems stink. They probably make a lot of money on them and thus they make them mandatory on high trim levels. I have the newest system in my 18 Navigator and, as an example of poor design, it takes three clicks to bring up a turn list and three clicks to turn it off. Oh, you want traffic data? Well, we cant show that to you on the map. We will just show it to you as text for you to read while you drive. And you have to ask for it - we wont show it automatically. And it will be inaccurate. I use Waze. Just wish I could get Waze to work with CarPlay.
  7. Some other folks here can provide more detail, but eventually your window sticker will appear here and you can confirm: http://www.windowsticker.forddirect.com/windowsticker.pdf?VIN=1FMJK2AT9JEA21724 Good luck!
  8. Was updating my profile for my new Navigator but I don't see a check box for it in my control panel. Is it missing?
  9. Excellent! LOL I had the manual downloaded for a month prior to delivery and never got around to reading it. As you accurately indicated, the manual states that the button on the end of the turn signal turns it off! Thanks!
  10. Let's use this thread to discuss issues/likes/dislikes/etc. about the 2018 Navigators. I have lots of small things that don't merit their own thread, so I thought it would be useful to have one thread for discussion of minor items, such as: How do you feel about the engine stopping at every red light? Very off putting. Not sure if I like it. Have to manually turn it off every time car starts unless in Excite mode. Love the auto hold feature. I appear to be too tall for the HUD - the top gets cut off and I have the seat as low as possible and the HUD as low as possible. Any way to turn off the lane departure warning? I already have it at Alert Only and low intensity, but the vibrating steering wheel whenever I change lanes without signaling is annoying! Hopefully it has its own fuse. Looking forward to enjoying my new ride and figuring it out with the rest of you.
  11. I picked up my Navigator this past weekend but haven't had much time with it as the timing chain on my wife's 2011 Volvo C70 broke and blew out her engine, so I I have been shopping for a new car for her which we needed ASAP (finally found a great deal on a 2018 Audi A5 Cabriolet). Pics and review to come. PS - no gift for me. May be explained by the fact that the guy handling my sale is the fleet manager, so he's used to dealing with corporate customers over email/phone, which was great for me as I never set foot in the dealership other than to sign the papers at delivery (he took my vehicle order via email, x plan pricing so no discussion there, and I emailed him credit app and everything else - was very smooth).
  12. Does anyone know if the 2018 Navigators have metal oxide or something else in the windshield that would block RFID? My toll transponder and community gate opener transponder don't work when mounted on the windshield. If so, is there a clean spot where they can be mounted to work (I have read that many vehicles with this type of windshield have a spot for toll transponders). Thanks!
  13. Thanks, everyone. This is the first new car I have been excited about in a long while (have driven Expeditions for the past 17 years). @pffam1990 - the color is Burgundy Velvet. I really wanted (New York Jets) Green Gem, but it wasn't offered. I saw Rhapsody Blue online and it looked fantastic, but thankfully I went to see it in person on other models and it is much lighter than the website. Looks like Sapphire Blue on the website (which also isn't offered on the 18). Was going to get black, but saw this color on a MKZ and it looked pretty sharp in the sun - figured it would look nice on a big car, and it does. Wife pushed me to the interior choice (I wanted all ebony). Glad I listened - it really does pop with all of the wood trim in the car. I just hope it wears nicely and gets a nice patina instead of looking dingy. The vehicle is getting hand controls installed at the moment (I am in a wheelchair) and it was a bit disconcerting, to say the least, when I stopped by to check on progress to see my brand new vehicle in the garage with the entire underside of the steering column taken apart and screws and parts everywhere. Reminded me of the old saying about seeing sausage made. All should be better in a day or two.
  14. Thanks - will do. So as not to disturb cyberdman as he assists others, let's continue discussion in this thread: http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/64349-2018-navigator-reserve-it-finally-arrived/
  15. Ordered on Aug. 17. The vehicle is at the dealership and I plan to take delivery this weekend. Here's the window sticker and here are a few pictures I snapped at the dealership. Will post many more once I take delivery. Special thanks to cyberdman and Pioneer who helped me track the vehicle on its journey from "Order Processing - Unscheduled - Clean" to actual delivery.
  16. Vehicle is at the dealership. Here's a quick photo - will post one of me with it in my driveway once I take delivery (hopefully this weekend). Thanks so much cyberdman. You made the wait tolerable.
  17. Thanks to Pioneer for all of your assistance in tracking my vehicle along the way (and apologies to everyone else for hijacking the Expedition thread with Navigator questions). It is at the dealership and I will hopefully take delivery by the weekend. Here are a few pics I snapped when I went to see it today (not sure why back seat floor isn't covered - hope nobody took it for a test drive). Further discussion of this vehicle can be found here: http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/64349-2018-navigator-reserve-it-finally-arrived/
  18. Fantastic - thanks so much. Hope to post a picture later this week.
  19. Wow - looks beautiful. Congrats and enjoy! Mine should be delivered this week as it's already in Miami - fingers crossed.
  20. Checking in to see if there has been any update in the delivery date (I know I'm a few days early). Thanks. 5LMJJ2LT8JEL04015
  21. Wow! That's great. Getting closer to my garage. Thanks so much. Can't wait to post a picture!
  22. Mine has a longer trip, but if you could provide and update, Id appreciate it. Thanks. 5LMJJ2LT8JEL04015
  23. My remote start not working was the first sign the battery in my 15 was dying (of course, this was earlier this week when my new Navi is a week away - can’t win).
  24. Are you asking about the 18s or Expys in general?
  25. I will start with the obvious. Did you press the lock button first and then press the remote start button twice (that's the procedure for my 15 - I would imagine the 18 is the same). Does the horn sound when the car doesn't start? EDIT: Here's the owner's manual section on remote start: Link
