  1. RLMFAO !!!! Come on Bob !!! Whether the other companies adopt your principles or not....you have no choice but to respect the decision of their workers to join the UAW or not to join. Now if you offer to sh*t can the card check , you may just get some attention down in Georgetown and the like. Should have known to expect this from a guy who came of age in the 60's. Flower Power to you too Bobette. Go Girl.....
  2. It is easier to follow than to lead.........What larger local was the 1st shot over the bow ???......KCAP not DTP. Besides as some say that DTP is a favorite child...it wont be DTP losing the F150. Sales will not return to 16-17 million. Situation will play out perfectly. 2011 contract approaching, lost Escape/Kuga to LAP, DTP with tag relief and OT to pick up slack , KCAP will get tax incentives AND concessions (in plant) for any consideration for new product. Standard operating procedure. Remember , the Company still has a right to run their business as they see fit. Someone archive this...I will be happy to look it up in a year..........
  3. Or as the 2011 contract comes around...KCAP may be wrung out for more concessions. After all wasnt KCAP a big NO to those last Mods ???? DTP can more than pick up the slack with tag relief and OT if need be.
  4. Respectfully, if you think Ford is standing pat with the trades as they are now, I really believe your statement to be false. The Nov'09 mods that we overwhelmingly trounced, would have allowed the transition from a few pilot plants going the GM way, to the whole system doing so. But going back to my original post, if you think Ford is going to bring T&D work, work for MR and GW, TDW back to get all of them off of production and/or ILO/TLO, it just aint gonna happen. Yes attrition of trades willl help but like I said , some of our brothers/sisters of trades will langiush on the line for yrs if not the rest of their careers while IUAW shows no visible attempts to bring or keep enough work in house to keep them on their tools......
  5. They havent seen anything yet. Wait til 2011 and 2015. With consolidations and no real push from I-UAW for keeping or bringing in new work, EL's and PSO's are about the only trades which will work 100%. MR's and T&D and Welders will be yrs in some cases on the line. Many will never be called back. Remember, King is King now. And he is NO friend of the trades. And all Chairs will fall in line behind him. There is NO incentive for Ford to keep any tr ades on t heir tools. None. Just wait for 2011, you all will see.............
  6. Maybe I missed it but i am still waitng for his Accomplishments.....the positive ones......
  7. Uh they have no choice.....safe & conservative will not keep up with retiree healthcare costs.
  8. First how long a holiday/vacation is ....is none of your business. And second, who cares for the record how much you worked this weekend ? I'm sure your check has the name of the dealership on it and not FoMoCo. Amazing isnt it , how the asswipes come out of the woodwork and Only when the issue is better than the benefit that they have.
  9. Keep dreaming. That Monday is long gone. So is any raise, so is any COLA, so is restoring breaktimes. Ford/UAw will only be looking at a lump sum signing bonus on the economic side of things.
  10. This is referring to Sheldon Road Plant only..........
  11. Have your Ex-Chair get his #'s straight. First, there are only about 19 trades that are Visteon supplemental emplyees(temps). 12 are EL's , 5 are PSO's. Dont see any of these trades on ILO around here. Anyway, they are also not all retirees (we call them reloaders). Some got dumped by Amer.Axle, some hired off the street. We do have 2 MR's that are rehired retirees. Anyway... no, I dont condone their continued employment while we have MR's on the street OR on the line.
  12. So true. If you think it stinks at Levels' level, just imagine what King smells like. Level talks of the last mod. vote ...that it was our decision to make. DUH..no sh*t sherlock. But understand the HUGE disconnect corporate(yes corporate) IUAW has with their members. Thats a big part of what got people in a dither. Dont just try to spin, spin, spin.............
  13. Come on....if I had the coice btw. termination and moving half way acrss the states, first thing I'd do is start working on my accent. Reasonable people will bite the bullet and move. Better to have a good paying job and struggle to work things out rather than be terminated and only getting food stamps from DHS.
  14. but if you pass up or turn down the opp. to go and they still need people, porduction or trades..........you see where this is going.
  15. Yes...we need to keep the drumbeat all the way to the '11 contract. I expect Ford to do as Ford does. I do not expect my union to lay down. That is unacceptable !
  16. Wow.....are temp trades overlooked for ot as plant policy? Thats *&%$* up. And if zone and esp. their own local has people ILO'd and they allow that kind of ot to conntinue is reprehensible. SRP has temps but as anyone new comes in, they assume high hrs and then are just canvassed according to those hrs.
  17. Look again...I see no 50% + one vote.
  18. What are you smoking?? End result did not bring full sen. It is still in place today with people having 2 sen. dates...plant and company. And this language WAS protectionism in the 1st place. Changing to Nat. Sen. would straighten it out for good.
  19. Same thing happened to me in Jan. Dealer replaced the vac shift motor which is attached to a bracket on the front axle . It works fine now. No broken forks.
  20. It was so brilliant, it should have been in the 2007 contract language and not been used to whipsaw and browbeat members in that brilliant concessional BS that you speak of.
  21. You are right...if its up to the locals...it will never pass. But getting trades pay while working prod., while definitely helps those laid off from their tools...will NOT deter Ford from putting them on the line. It didnt work with GEN/JSP and it wont work for trades. With self directed trade groups, the door will be wide open for mass exodus to the line. And without any plant or minumum zone sen. a 25 yr guy could be on the line forever while a 5 yr in the plant down the street never misses a beat with his tools.
  22. I hope you are not tool and die. Because unless you have boocoo seniority you will not see your tools again.
  23. Thats just too fair and just.....thats not how I-UAW operates.
