  1. WAP is no more it is just a building on the MAP complex. They are in the process of gutting it out and complete tearing down the old paint shop. WAP building is going to be used as a warehouse for MAP. Also talk of sub assembly work coming in possibly seats and dash boads, to help save on trucking cost. MAP is just to small to support all the different vehicles they want to run. Its busting at the seams with just the Focus.

  4. Thanks for reply. I would think u should have the new red candy very soon then. I work at MAP and the paint mix guy here said we switched to the new RZ code 2 weeks ago.
  5. Have u started painting trucks with the new RZ paint code for the red candy metallic yet? I have a truck on order since april 29 and tracking still has it in order processing material hold. Thanks Chris

  7. the no snow plow option has to do with not enough charging system capacity. not the strength of the EPAS. heres the bulliten from Ford to plow manufactures. https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/non-html/Q-200.pdf
  8. production starts jan 3 on a limited basis. there only scheduled to build 330 cars for the whole month of jan. If those cars meet the build standards production will start ramping on through out feb. plant probaly won't be running up to full speed until the end of march.

  10. More than likely there will be some down time. I don't think this will be a seamless transtion. I wouldn't be suprised to see two months off for the transition. WAP will never produce another vehicle. Every thing is being combined to form the MAP complex. WAP south body shop will be used in conjunction MAP body shop. They will be renamed MAP body east and west. The future plan I'm hearing is to eventually build up to five different vehicles.
  11. I'm hearing that WAP will be converted to a supplier park and warehouse for MAP. There is talk about having a seat and IP lines installed. They are trying to do as much work onsite as possible to save on trucking cost.
  12. In the highlights of the new contract it mentions something about "Sourcing" of alternative energy vehicles at MAP. Don't know if that means in or out sourcing.
  13. More than likely Wayne Assy. when Michigan Truck is finally converted to Michigan Assy Plant in late 2010.
  14. Stamping and Body shop will be going to three 8 hours shifts. This is supposed to take place after shutdown.
  15. The rumor I've heard from a few different people, is that LAP will get the next gen Focus. Far as Wayne I've heard anywhere from the Fusion, Mustang, to some new small crossover. I do know for a fact that engineers have been at Wayne seeing if the plant can run a bigger skid through the system
