I don't like it either, BUT the last administration made it clear they would of let the industry fold completely. Which means ALL the jobs, retiree pensions, healthcare would have been GONE. There would have been no shot at saving anything.

Not letting you sit in a vehicle is just plain DUMB! Ford has always let us try out vehicles and we even returned one bacause it wasn't working out for our family.

I don't want anyone to lose anything, don't get me wrong. It's been a terrible process to watch and my heart breaks for all the UAW. My dad has put in 32 HARD years in and it stinks what is happening. The dental insurance is a bigger loss out of the two in terms of costs in the long run. However, I also see how bad the coverage is w/ vision now. My parents spent $400 between the both of them the last time. I for one can't stand SVS vision they messed my glasses up more than once and don't keep frames, or lenses in stock so if we have a change we have to buy new glasses.

The vision coverage SUCKS anyways so no big loss there. I'd rather these three things than total health care coverage. I think we all can make it without dental/vision.

I have a family member who is a retired teacher and they HATE the UAW.

BOO! The plan demands that Chrysler's current and future retirees take equity in lieu of guaranteed benefits. Fiat must agree to take only stock in payment for billions of dollars worth of needed technology. And the unions must accept lower wages alongside significant plant closures and job losses.
