  1. My first thought was a Ford Falcon. ???
  2. There is word from the mca about a 50th in april 2014. Simultaneous or close together events in vegas and charlotte, nc.
  3. On an 05 up GT there are considerable gains with a good tune and intake. It really transforms the car. Auto or Manual. I'd check americanmuscle.com or brenspeed.com. I have a brenspeed with Airaid and it is great on my 08. Guys are running high 11s with the newer 5.0, intake, tune, no cats, and drag radials.
  4. I think it would be difficult to value it separately from a regular GT. One thing to look at would be to find vehicles that are for sale and get some idea. I would guess the best idea would be to use the value of a normal GT as your car would be and then use that value to determine the depreciated percentage. Take that percentage and apply it to the option price which was apparently about $1,000. Add that on to your KBB value. Basicly depreciate the package at the same rate as the car. I doubt it really has become a collectors car at this point since it looks like about the only distinguishably unique feature is the leather and emblems. The car could hold some collector value because of the lower production but not really to the average buyer. That's my opinion. http://www.themustangsource.com/timeline/99-04/03/100th.htm
  5. I don't think it would be easily mixed up in person. Kona can look black in some light.
  6. I also have heard the same about gears. Most people seem to stick with the FRPP and apparently the install is about the most important aspect. I've had satisfactory results with the Brenspeed tune and an airaid intake. I went with the airaid because it is a notune filter and later added the tune with an SCT from brenspeed.com. Roush also uses the airaid as their intake option with NA cars. It has a near OEM fit and finish. The only one I like as good for fitment is the bullet intake which I think may be similar to the FRPP. C&L and JLT are popular options with C&L often showing the best numbers, albeit marginal. This is all on the 05-09 S197 GT.
  7. Yes, some of them are re-branded from another company. Not necessarily a bad thing though. I like Steeda and Koni for suspension parts and Silverhorse Racing for appearance. Borla or Bassani for exhaust.
  8. I have a vista blue. Best way I could describe is sonic has more purple and kona is a touch darker than vista.
  9. When he says backs I would think he means the back rest where you actually lean back on the seat. This would be leather. Basically all forward facing surfaces on the front seats. What did you use to clean and treat them? I've seen sprays and stuff that are designed to repair but in the end its not likely to be a good result. Katzkin makes some amazing leather that's quite a bit nicer than the factory.
  10. Its really a 2 piece. I was trying to remember if the middle articulating joint was considered a third piece. On the 05-09s the drive by wire is greatly improved by a computer tune.
  11. I'm an 08 GT owner and I think can help on some of these. Is the throttle control drive by wire or still cable controlled? Drive by wire. Clutch actuation-still cable or is it hydraulic? Hydraulic Two piece driveshaft or one piece? Two or maybe actually three? After-market has one piece but I believe it is there for NVH purposes even though there is some clunking which has more to do with the rear I think. Is the factory oil fill synthetic or conventional oil? Should be Motorcraft 5w20 Semi-Synth When the spark plugs are installed-is anti seize used on the threads? I changed my plugs at around 20K to avoid the design flaw carbon problem and I believe they had used anti seize. Design changed mid 08 on that but since the heads are aluminium it is safe to say they use anti seize. While I know for sure this applies to the 05-09, I believe it still holds true as most of these systems haven't changed.
  12. You are welcome. Glad you were able to get things sorted out.
  13. The tsb describes the rattle from the "center stack" which would sound like it comes from the radio. It is the hangers around the cats. They vibrate through the rubber insulator and bottom out to the metal bracket and that causes a buzz/rattle usually around 2000-3000 RPM. This is all by memory. Edit: http://www.mustangforums.com/mustang-tsb/View-TSB/Year-2008/Model-Mustang/TSB-08-3-4/RATTLE-BUZZ-VIBRATION-TRANSMISSION-CROSS-MEMBER-EXHAUST-MOUNT-BUILT-BEFORE-12-3-2007.html
  14. There is a tsb about center stack rattle related to the exhaust system mounts around the cat converters.
  15. http://www.mustangheaven.com/2010/yellow-blaze-tri-coat-2011-mustang-gt-photos/ Yellow blaze TriCoat. Supposed to be available job 2 according to the message boards.
  16. My first guess would be to tweak out the MPG rating. lol. The 08 and up bullit and the GT500 only have the patch kit also I believe.
  17. This problem is actually extremely common on the s197 mustangs. There is a known problem with the aluminum hoods being contaminated with metal particles before paint at the factory. They were not properly handled or prepped for paint. The corrosion always starts at the seem of the hood and eats it like cancer destroying the paint as it goes. There are tsbs issued to dealers describing this condition. Its sad that something the factory allowed causes a defect that doesn't become noticeable until ford is able to deny responsibility. I'm not being negative here. I'm very happy with my car but when the paint on the hood is finally ruined I will turn to the aftermarket because ford won't do anything about it and even a repaint is just putting off the inevitable.
  18. There was an article in the MCA magazine about it but the pictures were of an unfinished version. Actually on the cover. Was a V6 with special emblems, tape stripe, and wheels. Looked to be a fairly "loaded" model. Available in coupe or convertible in eight colors. Black billet grill with fogs on the chin. Wheels look kind of like the GT500 SuperSnake.
  19. "Placing an emphasis on ultimate interior style, 2010 Mustang V6 Premium and GT Premium feature a bright aluminum accent shifter knob, dash appliqués, pedal covers, and scuff plate." http://www.fordvehicles.com/cars/mustang/c...goryTab=viewAll Sounds like it is standard. Maybe they swiped it for a friend?
  20. IMO, I don't see a markup. The 09s are going so low that the 10s will do sticker and I'd bet there will be plenty of incentives later. I doubt they are going to get a huge amount of S197 repat buys on these cars unless someone is moving up from a V6 or if they were looking to pick up a new one anyway. I think you'll see repeat customers on the S197 platform when they put in a better engine. Having said this some dealer will probably try to overprice some of the well packaged cars done up with some of the new Ford accessories.
  21. As I understand it that company made it but it is not mass produced. I have only seen a picture of one other car of theirs. It was black.
  22. Yup.. I took these. It is a widebody modification. It had like 315 width tires in the back.
  23. Unless I am totally off here. I don't think I am. The CS is purely cosmetic. The Bullit, however, has suspension, brake pads, and tune/ intake upgrades. CS brings additional body styling and two tone interior options.
  24. I would guess X-Plan would be like 34,000. A-Plan should be more like 33,000. 33,000-5,500 = 27,500. Is the 1,500 a straight up discount for being a previous owner? If so, 27,500 - 1,500 = 26,000. You should be able to get a printout from the dealer that shows A/X/Z plan pricing on a specific vehicle. You might also get a salesman over a message board to post it to you if you have the VIN. Did he include tax in the $28K? If so, then that is pretty much right on I'd guess. I'm going by the memory that X plan was basically covering tax at 40 dollars under dealer invoice. A plan was the same but less the hold-back value.
  25. The only one that I am aware of that retains warranty is an option from Roush. You can get a polished one also. It has to be put in by an authorized installer. http://store.roushperformance.com/detail.aspx?ID=1 This is one of the most tame setups also.
