  1. I did a build and price on Escape Titanium, loaded and it was about $45K (taxes in). And thats employee pricing discounts as of today. Cdn dollar about par at the moment.
  2. Why can't the new Edge be more like this.. but better and less expensive.. it carries the ecoboost engine
  3. http://money.cnn.com/2012/07/19/autos/ford-escape-recall/index.htm?hpt=hp_t2
  4. Never bought used. 1996 Pontiac Grand Am - amazing car, no mechanical glitches 2001 Toyota Solara - motherboard shot, had 3 engine lights inside of 6000 miles, I called Head Office, dealer was on verge of dismantling my fuel line. 2007 Ford Edge - first year - no mechanical glitches, some paint issues, and chrome clad rims replaced due to premature corrosion. However, my brother works line at OAC - horrible axle issues in the fall of 2006, plant manager fired. I bought mine May 07 - after all that. Its hit and miss.... I think any manufacturer at any time can have problems. The playing field has been levelled. No one is immune.
  5. Think of Ford Fusion front end.... mixed up with some Range Rover Evoque....
  6. VIN = 2FMDK3J95DBA69163 I know I am not suppose to ask early... but hoping the date got changed... LOL If there is no change, don't worry about posting.... I will wait til Monday!! Welcome back from shut down.... my bro was back today at OAC today as well.
  7. Clearly if the Escape was upscale...it would look more like this inside. If liking cleaner simpler lines, rather then the cluster knobby center stack - makes me elitist.... I'll take it...
  8. Ahhh... someone who sees what I saw in person. Completely agree!!! The interior of the Escape was the primary reason I did not order one.
  9. well the facing is different... but the general style is the same... some extra buttons.. I mean there is more shiny plastic in the Escape..... the kind you can tap on.. and sounds plasticy.. On a side note, my 07 Edge steering wheel is totally different... so I can only vaguely remember my dad's edge which 2011. I did sit in a pre production Escape at dealer before the week I placed my order.... it did not win me over... and I wanted to be won over by the Escape... PS.. and this is not the interior stack with the Nav... I dont like this stack either
  10. Well, this interior completely turned me off the 2013 Escape.. way too much plastic inside The steering wheel is the same as the Edge, guages are similar too, but that center stack...is awful to me. Prefer the Edge interior - cleaner lines, simpler in appearance... IMO
  11. I used to be a huge fan of the Rav4 many moons ago, but had to google the 2013 Rav4 - wow, thats just plain ugly. No inspiration at all.
  12. Finally saw some Escapes on the highways here in the greater Toronto area. From the rear, not impressive. From the side - reminds me of other models, and from the front, you might think its a Focus. As my brother said - its really a jacked Focus. Still glad I ordered my Edge... PS - my brother, who works at OAC, think the next Edge might be more like the Range Rover Evoque... afterall, the Evoque already has the ecoboost engine.
  13. FINALLY!! A Canadian perk considering the Edge is assembled just 40kms from my home
  14. HI.. you need to read the first posting on this section of the forum that outlines the "rules" - it was updated for shutdown info on June 26.
  15. On 2013 models, my SEL has push button start when you opt for the driver entry package - which also includes perimeter alarm, power liftgate and remote start
  16. Thanks... images are impressive... I did google search the installation etc. Can't seem to locate any downfalls... Weird, it can't be a perfect product. I will keep searching..
  17. Um... i take it.. that is one pic with then another without.. where did u find those?
  18. It seems like a good idea...but i would rather have a stone chip than a massive colour fade line across my hood.. and it might just dull the ruby red metallic paint i like so much.. may as well pocket the money, and buy some good car wax
  19. Thanks for the feedback. My concern would be that the bra leaves a clear demarcation line on the hood and you get a "fade" in coloration from the unprotected sections. I did google around, and there is some concern the actual shield is affected by bird shit.. - go figure. I still got time to think about.. delivery is likely early august.
  20. Well.. I did cross shop the Edge and Escape and couldnt bring myself to spend the price of a Titanium Escape when compared to the Edge. But yes, I am a current Edge owner and I was looking to come down in vehicle size and get improved fuel economy. The Escape Ecoboost gets only sightly better mileage than an Ecoboost Edge. So perhaps my new Edge is missing some new techonolgy compared to the Escape but good grief, I did learn how to drive without the BLIS. Escape exterior styling is ok, but I think they blew the interior. I prefer the Edge's restyled interior, its a huge improvement over my 07 Edge. I also hear the new Edge will be more euro styled and shrunk in size and I bet it will be way more expensive. So right now, I still think the Edge offers more bang for your buck. But I guess it depends how many bucks you want to spend.
  21. When I bought my first car in 1995 (pontiac grand am) - car bras were all the rage. Now I found out through a coworker, there is a 3M Chip Guard. It looked pretty good. So.. anyone out there have one? Thinking of putting it on my new Edge.
  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Or8yDkhxuHU the reveal on youtube - with retractable roof... go to the last 4 min .. the presentation is a little long winded
  23. Hahaha... Im all for a fair discussion.. the facts are the facts :D
  24. So, being the pain in the ass woman that I can be, and honest about my facts... I went back and built a FWD escape simiarily equiped but not exactly (just can't based on options avail.) and the Escape came in at just under $38K (taxes all in) So.. thats about $5K cheaper than my ordered Edge... I still didnt like the Escape enough to order one..LOL
  25. All I was trying to point out - is that both vehicles are categorized in the same class of vehicle (crossover) albeit different. In my opinion, my money is and was better spent on a new Edge. I am sure once the Edge is redesigned - the price will be higher and the differences betw the vehicles are more distinct. I had the choice of spending $44K on a Escape... or on an Edge ... and I chose the Edge.
