  1. Sorry, I didn't realize he was dead, that was a bit before my time.
  2. No, that's new for either 07 or 08, he was implying that that's when the vehicle was all new.
  3. Edstock, are you referring to a sedan "Super-Z" or a coupe "Super-Z" or both? I do agree that that may be a better option than a CTS-V type setup. However, it seems that the MKR will be positioned to better take on the CTS rather than the MKZ. And what do you think of this as Lincoln's "V", "M", "R", etc. performance models?........LS......you could have the Lincoln LSZ, LSR (laser, lol), LST, LSS, etc. I agree. Maybe the new platform could spawn a new Cougar as well to go along with the Mustang and Lincoln Mark IX coupe (presumed name).
  4. I agree, I think they did what they could with what they have, and those efforts have paid off and will now result in increasingly separated (design-wise, for the most part) Ford and Lincoln models. Now that begs the question of where would Lincoln have been now had they produced some of the concepts from the 2002-4 ish time period (Mark X, Continental, Navicross, etc.)?
  5. I'd like to see a Mark coupe/convertible again. How about a 4 door convertible MKR, now that'd be awesome. I'd love to see what a convertible MKT would look like. I think there's a market for SUV/CUV based convertibles....I know my mom would gladly buy one, that way you don't sacrifice space to have a convertible. She'd probably trade the BMW in tomorrow for a convertible SUV.
  6. They scrapped the beautiful MKR??!!? When did this happen?!? It was just down here in Miami a few months ago. When you say the Bronco will be in showrooms, will it be as a B-car or what?
  7. http://www.leftlanenews.com/gm-considering...ng-vehicle.html Seems like GM is considering building a Nano competitor, built by Wuling Automobile Company of China (which GM owns 34% of). The article says the project hasn't been approved yet, but it is interesting, nonetheless. Rick Wagoner also said it would be more feasible to use older architecture to keep costs down.
  8. http://www.leftlanenews.com/jim-press-chry...kup-trucks.html Well Ford has the "small" truck down, now if they'd have just continually updated it, how would it've been doing now? I think it's possible that if done right, customers would consider smaller pickups, but I don't know how small they're willing to go. It sounds like Press is talking "very small."
  9. Wow, a double topic post, never had that happen before. Feel free to delete this thread Richard.
  10. Maybe he has alzheimers and is forgetting he's asking the same question over and over again. Maybe he has alzheimers and is forgetting he's asking the same question over and over again. 11. If I'm not mistaken, don't the Sky/Solstice roadsters have little 1.4L engines and turboed versions for the Redline/GXP models? If so, what's the difference with this system, or is GM just expanding it's use in products?

    2009 GT500

I saw quite a few people like that when I was watching it.
  13. I was going to ask, if you'd consider getting the diesel if available. I wish you luck in your decision, and I'm sure we'll hear about it again when it comes closer to actually needing to decide.
  14. How long does Ford have a contract at Cologne? What if they could produce 3.5s there, would you think it'd be worthwhile? Well, it appears the Cologne is being phased out, slowly, but surely. The Explorer will switch to EcoBoost (and 3.5?) engines in it's next generation, Sport Trac may die (being replaced by F-100/similar vehicle), Mountaineer may die after this model ends production, Mustang will be switching to (or should, at least) EcoBoost and I assume some version of the 3.5 (maybe 3.7?), and the Ranger, well, it's dead already.
  15. I believe Ford is opening a new (or modifying an old) factory to produce more 3.5s.
  16. That'd be nice to see: Fusion winning a comparison. I somehow doubt it too, but Ford's gotten some positive press lately, so that may help out. I can't say much on how the Fusion drives/sounds, I've never driven any model, just sat in them at the auto shows.
  17. Here's how I view it: Ford They've had their retro 05-08 model, now they're moving on to a more modern looking retro-inspired design. Chevy Chevy's jumping right into the futuristic retro-ish, but not really design, I think that may be where Mustang will go in it's next generation (post 09 update) I think they may have needed to go a little more retro, although, I do personally like the design (except the interior, yuck). Dodge They're where Ford was in 04/05, and if it's able to continue on, I believe Chrysler will let it sit for as long as possible, as is, then either redesign it to be more futuristic (09 Camaro) or an evolution (09 Mustang). Based on what they did with the 300 so far, I'm betting the latter.
  18. Well thanks, I wasn't a big fan of those two concepts either.
  19. Not yet, still in high school, next year though.
  20. I think it's the Eagle I was thinking of, it was brought up in another topic about the X6, I believe.
