I see lots of 'beliefs' posted above but no facts. Because it is all just a fabric of lies for the gullible whiners to cry to each other about. Some people will believe anything and then they will whine about what they believe. I'm glad to see some of you go because working with chronic whiners and complainers is hard on all the good people that work at STAP.

Really? You believe Ford gave the CAW $400 million? And they kept it. There is no case in which Ford would give a local or the national money. They would agree to spend money in a certain way (for job training, adjustment programs, severance, buyouts etc) but give money to the union? If you believe your own BS then I guess whatever you say is crap.

Staying in the UAW worked real well in Atlanta, Norfolk, Wixom and all the rest of the former Ford plants didn't it Wake up.

Why would you think Preston ever did anything for the workers at STAP? If you want a voice for STAP workers you better vote ABC. (Anybody But Conservative). These Tories are not here to help you...they only help themselves.

There seems to be some confusion here about what the union is. The union is all of the hourly rated workers. The Committee people are just the elected reps. If the union (meaning everyone nearby) could not see that this required an immediate reaction(walkout, sit down or shit run) then why would you expect a rep to have any strength to resolve an issue such as this. If you think (as some here do) that the union is an outside force then you may as well go back to sucking the foreman's dick.

If you are scheduled 10 hours and work nine then your problems with your kids are your problem not your reps or Ford's problem. Grow up. Some people here want to be carried their whole life. Your employer or your union will never be responsible for for your child care arrangements. No wonder some here blame the union for STAP's closing. they reveal that they are the type of people who always blame someone else, and won't take any responsibility for themselves. It is certainly embarrassing to admit to working with some of the posters here. The immaturity and lack of character of the bellyacher's is amazing. The willingness to show this in public is also amazing. The posters here (on STAP vote) are mostly pathetic losers. We ALL knew that the plant would close eventually when they announced one shift. Please name one auto plant that has come back from a one shift operation. Even though we went to one shift our union saved ALL of the junior members from layoff, a miracle in itself. They saved All of the skilled trades. They saved even the apprentices. And now people say they were sold out by the CAW? Again ....I am embarrassed to admit I work with people like this.

Right on guys .That post is full of lies! The workers at St. Thomas are too smart to believe any of the bullshit from a cheap shot artist. Obviousl desperation at work from "inyourbestinterests" Who's interests? sounds like someone is afraid of going to work with the rest of us.

Stap guy is right about moving forward and choosing a leader. He's quick to pick on appointed people although in this case two of the candidates (Tucker and Smith) have resigned from their "cozy jobs" to run. If they did not care for the membership and the future they would as Stap guy says have stayed away from elections. He's wrong about Tucker. Darin is a nice guy. Great to have a beer with. But he never showed any leadership. He was not one of the leaders on the inplant committee. He was not a leader on the frame line or among plant service workers. He just did the minimum to get by. So I'm going with Scott Smith. He has had experience in the union office. He has met with the company's plant leadership on many occasions and has their respect. Several of the Committeemen (past and present) that he has worked closely with have said he is the guy. Whitey says he's the one for the future of the plant. What better recommendation could you get?

We need a guy that stands for more than "lets not make any waves guys" When Tucker was a rep he disappeared every time there was a problem. He stood for letting things settle by themselves. We need a leader!
