  1. Yes, and 'deadery' too. Word is the MKT will be stretched into a limo and....a hearse. Which begs the obvious question...Will every MKT still come with a panoramic vista roof?...
  2. He was baiting or just being spitefull towards North american workers.
  3. And he posted about paint and was wrong. So this proves Austin knows exactly what about who does the work and why in plant retooling?
  4. Yeah well, the old wizzard was posting on here about doors being painted seperate from the vehicle after they were trimed...carefull.
  5. Really........................ok....................... what department?, what lines?
  6. Guys. I posted something that MAY be going on at OAC and very informative and appreciated opinions followed. Thank you for your insights. There is a lot of great info and helpfull posters in this section of the forum obviously. However, even though I know better than to take the bait quoted above... I have to say..... Austin: Your post is pure fiction to be polite. Being proud of being Mexican is great. However....suggesting every Mexican worker on the assembly line is a certified electrician, millwright, pipefitter, welder, heavy equipment operator etc.... is nonsense. Suggesting each line worker with a dozen trades (according to you) would just by some chance be installing the machinery in the exact spot they work on the line is again.....nonsense. You have the Fusion etc down where you live. Just be happy and cut the anti american nonsense.
  7. Talk is we are building 1200 Edges, Flex's etc. per day to stock pile for a long layoff in the new year, when a new platform will be installed. Again.. we'll see, but other than the grand Cmax, we don't see what it will be.
  8. Word is Oakville starts building this model in the spring. We'll see.
  9. Yes, and it would be easy to get on the soapbox here again about the local prez and the national union for recruiting the premier people into the CAW and their reasons for doing so. I won't, though I'm sure someone else will...and He is right about this issue. However, let's take some accountability on this one. Who let's premier people work on the line beside them without shutting it down and walking off or walking out? I hope the company tries this in Body or Paint.......then the fun begins.

  11. Majority of your posts I listen and learn. Point 1, I think you may be incorrect about the "chicken tax" analogy. Could you expand on that. Point 2. No. OTP was 20 hours production from the mid 60's to the mid 90's producing several hundred thousand vehicles per year, when they were reduced to one shift. 90% of OTP's production was shipped to the US, the same as today where 90% of OAC's production is shipped to the States.
