  1. Yes, and 'deadery' too. Word is the MKT will be stretched into a limo and....a hearse. Which begs the obvious question...Will every MKT still come with a panoramic vista roof?...
  2. He was baiting or just being spitefull towards North american workers.
  3. And he posted about paint and was wrong. So this proves Austin knows exactly what about who does the work and why in plant retooling?
  4. Yeah well, the old wizzard was posting on here about doors being painted seperate from the vehicle after they were trimed...carefull.
  5. Really........................ok....................... what department?, what lines?
  6. Guys. I posted something that MAY be going on at OAC and very informative and appreciated opinions followed. Thank you for your insights. There is a lot of great info and helpfull posters in this section of the forum obviously. However, even though I know better than to take the bait quoted above... I have to say..... Austin: Your post is pure fiction to be polite. Being proud of being Mexican is great. However....suggesting every Mexican worker on the assembly line is a certified electrician, millwright, pipefitter, welder, heavy equipment operator etc.... is nonsense. Suggesting each line worker with a dozen trades (according to you) would just by some chance be installing the machinery in the exact spot they work on the line is again.....nonsense. You have the Fusion etc down where you live. Just be happy and cut the anti american nonsense.
  7. Talk is we are building 1200 Edges, Flex's etc. per day to stock pile for a long layoff in the new year, when a new platform will be installed. Again.. we'll see, but other than the grand Cmax, we don't see what it will be.
  8. Word is Oakville starts building this model in the spring. We'll see.
  9. Yes, and it would be easy to get on the soapbox here again about the local prez and the national union for recruiting the premier people into the CAW and their reasons for doing so. I won't, though I'm sure someone else will...and He is right about this issue. However, let's take some accountability on this one. Who let's premier people work on the line beside them without shutting it down and walking off or walking out? I hope the company tries this in Body or Paint.......then the fun begins.
  10. http://wot.motortrend.com/6670699/auto-news/not-so-fast-ford-flex-and-lincoln-mkt-arent-going-anywhere/index.html#ixzz0vTXL4M6k
  11. Majority of your posts I listen and learn. Point 1, I think you may be incorrect about the "chicken tax" analogy. Could you expand on that. Point 2. No. OTP was 20 hours production from the mid 60's to the mid 90's producing several hundred thousand vehicles per year, when they were reduced to one shift. 90% of OTP's production was shipped to the US, the same as today where 90% of OAC's production is shipped to the States.
  12. Fair enough. However...how many F-Series plants were closed in NA to move production to Mexico (Ontario Truck for one) and then the shell game began. I'm saying from personal experience, Potential Fusion buyers wanting to support the non bailout company have said to heck with it when they found out where the Fusion was built in Mexico. It's non debateable.
  13. Don't worry about "charly". No one else is, as evidenced by not a single post in support of his weak postings. Evreyone (except "charly") is completely disgusted and embarrassed by the reps behavior and infighting over the past month or so. It's a joke and has people completely turned off and fed up with the union except for the very odd baglicker like "charly".
  14. Go ahead and answer your own questions. Please. Inform us all of your knowledge on the subject. Post the numbers from 5 years ago while you're at it. Are you really claiming there arn't more jobs both blue and white collar in Mexico now then there were then? Have you heard of the Fiesta? Spin it how you like, but even the general public has caught on that Ford is global. At least some of the consumers will in part still base their purchasing decision on where a vehicle is assembled whether you admit it or not.
  15. Why are you asking a question you know I won't answer? Everyone knows charly....get out of the crib once in a while. You've offered nothing here in terms of debate. Game. Set. Match. Have a good holiday.
  16. All bluster, no substance. As usual from Mullaly. Talk about American jobs is complete BS and the general public is catching on. More factories going up in Mexico despite the highest worker per job ratio in the world (blue collar) along with all the exporting of (white collar) jobs. Not to mention the ramped up offshoreing to India of payroll department etc....the list goes on. He's an axeman pure and simple. Fanboys should look up the history of Bowing. I had 2 relatives contact me recently about xplan or any other discounts about Ford employee related discounts, Both interested in the Fusion. Both asked where the Fusion was built and I told them Mexico. relation #1 bought the made in Canada Camry, Cousion who wanted the sport opted for Mazda 6 (he didn't know or care where that was made ). Everyone informed or not is starting to catch on to the BS about Ford still being a NorthAmerican company. Mullaly can't fool all of the people all the time with his BS. Fact is his North american succes story is wearing very thin.
  17. Len, you may be good at debating but it sounds like you have a lack of experience on the floor. Talk to your Father about it. I'm willing to wager he was an honest hard working person who got up at 5:30 every morning, rolled up his sleaves and got to work to provide for his family. So do we Len, and the jobs are far bussier and harder than in your dad's day. And as you acknowledged there are no easy jobs at the end of the road due to outsourcing. We work hard and build quality veheciles because the survival of the company depends on it. Yet we get shit on by the media and your buddies in the Ford motor co. discussion area always. constantly. Do you see the irony in unproductive white collar types spending their day surfing the net crapping on productive people who are hard at work on the line? Do you really not see why this attitude makes people want to dig in their heels and say enough is enough?
  18. Just like the new reality in our plant. The elected reps put out annoymous leaflets absolutely ripping each other by name while remaining annonymous. Thank you for leading by example 707 reps. You can't bitch and whine about annon internet posts now without looking like complete hippocrites. They opened the door. Game On.
  19. Len,Len..You continue to talk out of both sides of your mouth. One day you're on the workers side, the next on the companies. As long as you get to argue you'll take either posistion. You freely admit labour costs are higher in Japan and Europe and then turn around and sqwauk about the cheap labour in the low cost of living redneck states. Our tax dollars went to bailout the competiton and give Chrsyler away to an Italin company. Then Ford workers matched every concession of the bailout companies to help out the company. If Ford expects the same next time they can file for BK themselves and give up the Lions, Ford field, total control etc. Mullay's passion seems to be publicly demonizing the folks who build the product. Not a good plan, As he and you will find out. The corporations ended pattern barganing and no one cares what Fiat is paying. KIA min waging the Alabama folks? Who cares...The Soul is about 10k cheaper than the Escape with a labour difference of about $200 per vehecile...cry us a river.
  20. Or maybe no union at all. At least that way we would get our stat holidays off, like every other non union workforce in Canada as guarnteed by law. Instead we are told to work 8..no wait.. 10 hours on Canada day! The union (Giveaway Gary and his cronies) trade a regular 8 hr. day for 10 on a stat. holiday (for srtait time). An apathetic membership shakes it's collective head and mumblles about how much the union sucks. Giveaway Gary and the boys either pocket the payoff or are too stupid to realise they've been had. Sad.
