  1. Maybe to get buyer reactions before going live with production? But I"m also unsure about the whole timeline. Theoretically, Ford could debut something in January 2012 with it technically being a 2013. However, I really don't see it being introduced really early because of the other 2012/2013s that are coming out (Fusion/Mondeo, Taurus, Focus ST, etc.). It's going to be a tight timeframe for all these upcoming launches.
  2. The first Focus did the same. It wasn't clear when the light would be on. I think it was assumed that you had a bare minimum amount in the gas tank when it reached the red line (for some reason, I have it in my head that it was only a gallon). I had friends whose light would come on, and it'd be totally empty. Others had it where they had a few gallons left. What made matters worse is that earlier Focus models in early 2000s had fuel sending unit issues, so people would have erratic readings on their gauges and different cases of the light coming on. I just tossed the question on Facebook to see what they say. I'll probably stump them more than anything
  3. I was having someone at Ford check a friend's car (2012 Titanium in Red Candy). His was already built the other day, even though his order was placed 2 weeks later than mine. I can only assume dealer allocation and priority have been factors. Oh, and Murphy keeps showing up at my door. My throttle body on the '02 won't come out (300K+ must have really seized it in there good), and I've got the trunk wiring harness issue again to contend with. I'm going to be broke by the time Murphy leaves
  4. Out of curiosity: The window sticker. From what I read, it takes about a week (max) for it to show up after you get the VIN, right? Does that include Canadian orders as well?
  5. At least I have a VIN now . <- that's me now in hysteria waiting for my car. At least the order went through, as well as Emil. That's a great sign to know that Black and Red Candy are finally back in production.
  6. Awesome! You've made my week Thanks, cyberdman!
  7. Body code is P3K. Dealership is Parkway Ford Lincoln in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
  8. *bump* (can't believe it's been 2 weeks already ) Dealer Code: CB8275 Order Number: T022 Preliminary VIN of AHP3K2C Red Candy SE Hatchback Thanks.
  9. It's unclear at the moment. The order guides leaked online say it is, as does Ford.com. A gentleman I know of on FocalJet also ordered Red Candy, and his order confirmation says metallic. Canadian Ford.ca website shows it as just "Red Candy Tinted" (no mention of metallic). When my order was placed, Ford of Canada's ordering system showed it as metallic. In both cases, you are charged extra for it. Cross our fingers it's metallic
  10. I think it could depend on how well the ST sales go. If the ST doesn't sell well in North America, I can easily see a reason for the car to not be sold. I'm really hoping this comes.
  11. I assume then it's pretty obvious where the long and short studs go? Just checking on Fordparts.com -- Way to go on getting a deal! Did the parts come in pretty quick, or was there a delay? Oh, and has anyone seen any production updates to see if they put the engine cover back in?
  12. The "old" Red Candy (U6 paint code) used a pigment called Xirallic. The factory that makes Xirallic is located in Onahama, Japan, and it was damaged by the Japan earthquake back in March. Plus, it's also near the Fukushima nuclear power plant that had the meltdowns. At that time, that factory was the only one in the world that made that pigment. So, the plant was taken offline to fix the earthquake damage, and they had to continually monitor it for any possible radiation. No Xirallic production = no more Red Candy under the U6 paint code. You probably heard media reports about not being able to get a Ford in black or red back in March/April -- that was the reason (most of those colours used Xirallic). Ford has since replaced most of the colours; hence, there's a new Red Candy being offered (RZ).
  13. Someone on FocalJet has devised this setup. I'm not entirely sure about how well it works, but it's a clean setup.
  14. Unfortunately, it's those that don't represent the majority that seem to be more vocal and get selected out as the "voice" of the majority At least if the mood is positive, then that's a great thing for any work environment. I thought Ford and the UAW negotiations already started on July 29th: Ford Media
  15. I guess the studs just screw on? Were they included, or are they a separate part item?
  16. Just an FYI: I ordered plate frames from this company in Florida a few years ago for my current Focus. They were made in the USA, and they also had Ford's "authorization" sticker saying it was licensed. It's similar to the frames you all posted, but they can put "Focus" at the base. I emailed them a month ago whether they have the new Focus font, and they will have it (soon). Here is how they should look (they sent me these samples): I'm on the fence which one to get for a Red Candy SE Hatchback. I was thinking the rear can get the chrome treatment. The front I may go with a generic frame and cover (and even then I'm debating whether to get a clear or smoked plastic cover). Company Link: http://www.autostuff...fordframes.html -- If you want the new font, you need to specify it in the order. Otherwise, you'll get the older (pre 2012) fonts. Here's how the original fit:
  17. A gentleman who does tracking in this section of BOF. Be sure to read the initial rules on what information he needs and can give.
  18. Is it the "old" Red Candy (U6) or "new" Red Candy (RZ)? You can tell based on the paint code listed on the big sticker that's usually on the door jamb.
  19. So all is good with the transmission then? My wait is killing me. Murphy visited me again yesterday...*sigh* lol
  20. Try ordering it anyhow. Everything I see from other sites suggest it's wide open under the new paint code (UA), as well as Sonic Blue and "new" Red Candy. It's probably a mixup with whomever handles the website updates.
  21. I think whoever is handling the website is out to lunch. The colours affected by the Japan earthquake and tsunami were removed in the Build & Price section (Red Candy and Tuxedo Black). But Blue Candy is still available. The firm or person handling it may be going off some really out-to-date info. It's the same on ford.ca. They show every single colour that's available this year (so that includes two Red Candy colours, Tuxedo Black, Black, Blue Candy AND Sonic Blue).
  22. Is there a way you can see what struts/shocks you have?
  23. Actually, it's being discussed in another part of the forum: http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/46270-parts-shortage-impacts-focus-sales/ It sounds like it's "old news", according to one member that's posted, and the supplier is still ahead of production demand.
