  1. Bring Back Mercury Cougar I hope Ford ends the Mercury line and continues to focus on Ford and Lincoln Brands. At the same time Consider bringing back a Limited Mercury Cougar based off the Mustang and sell them at Lincoln show rooms, and make sure you have the 1969 & 1970 models included. And maybe also build a Lincoln Sports car off the same platform and call it the Lincoln Mark XIII As have Ford did with the Mustang bringing it back the late 1960’s muscle car GM did with the Camero and Dodge Challenger. I think it’s a matter of time before someone at GM brings back the Pontiac Firebird name but sells them say in a Cadlliac show room. Rebadged cars are OK if they are done right They could also consider exporting the line up as the Ford Cougar over to Europe and Australia
  2. Ford needs to bring back Ford Ranchero and base it off the Mustang platform with mustang nose and tail. Again its a matter of time before someone a GM wakes up and see's $$ in bring back the Chevy El Camino and finds another muscle car hit. I think there is a new generation of kids waiting for there version of their fathers cars to come out and baby boomers who would also go new to have an old name back I use to own a 1964 Ford Ranchero and a Ford Falcon Futura convertible and wish I still had both cars
  3. Ford should bring back the Ford Torino GT & GT Convertible and base it off the Ford Mustang platform.
  4. Ford should bring back the Ford Torino GT & GT Convertible and base it off the Ford Mustang platform. I moved this to the The Ford Wish List Forum

  7. :shades: One of the biggest complaints I have heard from Police departments is the poor traction of the Crown Victoria in Northern climates. So why not offer up the new 2010 Taurus AWD for the Northern climates and the FWD for warmer climates. Also consider removing the Navigation system and replace it with Police computers that have a USB keyboard plugin. Also consider expanding the sync technology to the Police cell phone communications. With the 5 star crash rating it just may also save more officer lifes Also consider the new Ford Focus FWD & AWD cars as the new Police cars Do we have any Artist out there that can render up this picture as a cool looking police car ?
  8. Also they should add a lighted Blue Oval
  9. Yes I made it my desktop background. I think they should also make this in a 2dr hardtop model / retractable hardtop and or convertible like the old days when Ford had cool looking cars like a 1968 Ford Torino GT 2dr Hardtop Now here are 3 great looking cars by Ford for 2010 and they should all do well
  10. :reading: I found this web site and wonder if this is close to what the 2010 Taurus will look like. If so Its a hit if the tail lights are also a new bold look. The Taurus X should also use the same nose. http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/photochop-2010-ford-taurus/ Check out these video's http://www.ford.com.au/servlet/ContentServ...mp;section=2_16
  11. Well no big loss if GM dumped Buick and no big loss if Ford Dumped Mercury and worked on Ford and Lincoln cars with better high end Fords to fill in that gap. You say it cost $0 to sell a Mercury !!! Nothing cost $0 and it cost a lot to carry a brand that is not selling well as it is. I think the Millan is a nice looking car and could be renamed to the Ford Focus and dump the ugly one they have now. And no big loss if Mariner also went away. The problem you guys do not understand who want to keep Mercury around is Ford is short on $ that's cash to keep all the platforms going. So I guess you have to ask which models you want to keep and which ones have to go. Keep Ford,Lincoln,Volvo & Mazda Dump Mercury
  12. Thats a real nice truck and a good replacement got the Lincoln LT. Leave the trucks to Ford and the high end cars to Linclon
  13. Here is the URL http://tsoedill.deviantart.com/art/2010-Me...-Board-68832811
  14. Well where is the URL with that information? I would bet that when 2010 rolls along that won't happen because the $$ are not there to do so. Ford must trim its size down to a smaller / leaner car company !!! And thats why I see no room for Mercury, its a USA brand that is fading away from the newer generation. So why not let it die off an focus on Ford & Lincoln? Make a 2010 Cougar but make it as the 2010 Lincoln Cougar?
  15. No one is saying it is wrong to build a Lincoln off another platform like the MKS is based off the Volvo S80 platform and the MKZ is based off the Mazda 6 Platform. In fact I would like to see the Ford Taurus use the same style for the next Taurus, because the cost to develop a whole new car platform just for Lincoln would be to high and have no real benefit. Yes Lexus is based off a Toyoda, and it is done right. BMW has body style that works all over the world and people love them so its a standard for others to chase, so why would they go thru a complete new design? They also focused on their car designs as their number 1 priority and also built SUV's where Ford based all their profits on SUV and lost site of the car designs in the USA. I hope Ford & Lincoln survive, but I do not think there is room for Mercury also.
  16. How about a 2 dr hardtop or convertible version of the MKS with a 6 speed stick shift option? Make sure the trunk can fit a few golf club bags and do a great job of marketing it. or A Notch back / Convertible Mustang version ?
  17. If Ford had any good designers, any good Project Managers and any good Marketing Managers they might have a chance at competing. Making a small Lincoln is not stupid but smart if its done right. But so far its been Luke warm, the MKZ and MKS are nice but remember the MKZ is based off of the Mazda 6 and the MKS is based off the Volvo S80. The MKT is based off the Flex and Lincoln MKX is based off the Ford Edge and the Lincoln Navigator is a Ford expedition. So Ford is very good at rebranding, But I can not see how Lincoln can have 3 SUV's in an already crowded market Look at BMW 328i Sports Wagon & 535 xi Sports Wagon, 328i Convertible, so why not Lincolns ? Maybe some of you want it to be the over 60's car and if so then they will be dead as will Ford, and Mercury. Toyota does make very nice Luxury cars and that is because the people leading Toyota have vision and drive to be the best!
  18. Lincoln just like Mercury really was always a rebranded car. In some years you could not tell it, but other years you could. I think its more of how well of a job you do in the rebranding. If you look at any other brand they also do rebranding of their high end cars, so it really becomes a question of how much and how many rebranded cars you do. Look at GM where ever brand has a medium size SUV. To me that is just way to many!!! I would like to see Ford re invent them self's by combining dealerships when they can. Make Lincoln & Volvo the premium dealers then Combine Ford Mercury Mazda. I do think a rebranded Volvo V70 wagon to a Lincoln Wagon could go a long way in getting new customers. Wagons work well for BMW, Mercedes and Audi, so why not a Lincoln? Bottom line is Ford needs to get leaner and cut all the fat off ( a lot of that fat is in both management and some union workers )
  19. :shades: Now tell me if this was released as a 2010 Mercury Cougar would it not sell well ?
  20. I don't have the software to mark up a Volvo V70 XC to look like a Lincoln, but if someone else does that would be great to get an idea as to what a Lincoln based V70 XC would look like as a Lincoln MKS-T.
  21. Here are a few thoughts for Lincolns: Create a new MKS-T based off of the Volvo V70 and V70 XC with a lincoln nose and tail lights. You may be able to go against the Audi, Saab & BMW wagons. Again with Gas still high and I am sure it will be at $3.50 - $4.00 + they need to get customers back into wagons. How about a Lincoln convertible based off the Mustang
  22. When someone says the current Focus design sucks, don't say they are Ford haters. A lot of these people have a long history with Ford cars, and are only saying that the people who design and managing the new products should be taken out and wipped. Ford is still around because the cars they are making elsewhere in the world are selling. Its the ones built here that are not selling very well. Here are a few Focus Cars from the UK. Now if you had these I do not think you could keep them on the lots. But Ford as does GM & Chrysler needs to get their heads of of their A$$ and build what sells and people want. There is nothing wrong with having a common design that is sold worldwide and instead of an American version.
  23. Right on man you are light years ahead of these bloggers who think the new focus is great. Its a pc of $hit compared to a Honda Civic, oh and when you spend $18k for a higher end focus and about the same for the Mazda ,Honda. Guess which one will drop in resale vale very quick!!
  24. Yes I have driven the Focus and it was fair compared to a Honda Civic, but it is years behind Honda so when Ford catches up to the engineering if ever I may buy one. Oh I have been around Fords Longer thn Most of you, my first Ford was a 1949 Club coupe then a 1959 2dr, 1964 Ford Futura Rag top, My Dad still owns a Ford Pickup. I also travel the world and have seen most of the Fords elswhere and find their styles far better then whats offered here.
