  1. The problem with paying tradespeople their wages while working on the prod. line, it was the other tradespeople who are still working in trades. They figure if other tradespeople are working on the production line, they could be next to go, when the plant did not have enough work for them!! Or if the production line needed people to fill up on the line due to awols or absence, the company would say hey there already tradespeople working on the lines, send some more!!
  2. Very good question !!!! There are several tradespeople that are working in production here in S.E. Michigan. I don't know if any of them are willing to move to Chicago. If anybody have any info on what trades they(Chicago) be needing, that would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Just to give my opinion, if the u.a.w. membership would have passed that last concessions. Knowing what we know now, we would not be able ask for our wages back. Think about it for a second, the company probably would of said no, the I.U.W.A. would said fine we'll go on strike. Then the company would have said no , you can't go on strike per the contract because the no strike cause is about wage increase. Now think about that for a few minutes and listen to the company laugh their asses off at the union !!!!!!! The company would have the union by the balls, don't think for one minute that those sneaky bastards knew what they are doing. Just like they knew they were going to make a profit in the 3rd quarter and they delay telling everybody about it until after we were done voting !!!!
  4. OMG !!!! I'm LMFAO !!! You still got your great sense of humor Chris !!!!!! You are right about both trades !! Z-man
  5. What wrong with Tool-makers!! At least we put things together with precision!!! As far as who has more senority, that is what U.A.W. has based everything on, SENORITY !!! Alot of us younger tradesmen have the ability to learn and do multiple things, as far as doing other trades work. But then again, I'm not making up the rules, go bitch at the union leadership instead of bitching at or among ourselves !!!
  6. What are you saying ??? One minute you are saying people are working, then your next sentence you are saying people are not there working!!! Which is it ????
  7. First of all, I was not looking for people to complain about why the company is doing this or that!!!!! I didn't want to hear about how or why you have to be ILO or skilled trades working in production. I really only wanted to get some info on where and how many are needed for this new retraining posting. Some people on this posting, started to talk about something almost entirely different.
  8. Yeah !! Stationary Steam Engineer & Refridgeration are the two positions open !!!
  9. Have any trades people, who are either on ILO or went back to production, see the new retraining posting ??? The posting is for Stationary Steam Engineer and Refrigderation !!!! The problem with the posting is that there is no location and how many are needed !!! Now someone from the company side has to know where and how many are needed. :shades: The posting does state that you may require to relocate !!! If anyone has any info, it would be appreciated to post on here !!!
  10. Not if you come from the production floor into trades !! You get to keep all your senority !! Unless you are referring to someone who hired in as a tradesperson ??
  11. Does anybody have a answer for me?? Or is nobody brave enough to come forward a tell me what the answer is???
  12. Who is on this team?????? I must be out of the loop because I haven't heard anything about this !!!!!! :shades: :shades:
  13. If they are holding a job they will not get a job offer!!! Atleast they are not suppose to get an offer !!! Only if you have someone in your specfic trade on ILO !! I agree with Wixom22, we need more details, if someone is trying to pull a fast one?? :shades:
  14. I hear that the union is trying to create a construction crew to go around to various plants and help out doing tear-outs and new installitions. That's why they probally only want them until Nov. I read that's what happen over at the Sterling Axle plant.
