  1. Is anyone else getting an "Error 500" message after signing into the paystub website?
  2. If the different C Crew work-week was the problem, A Crew wouldn't be delayed a week and it is. Someone at Ford messed up and filed the claim a week late - it's right there on the determination letter. With all the checks-and-balances that I would assume are in place, I don't see how that could have happened, but there is nothing Ford or the Union can or will do about it - we were screwed. Again. First Ford blamed Snyder supposedly changing call-in from two weeks to three weeks, now they're blaming a UIA system change back in September. When that accusation is proven wrong, they'll just come up with another excuse. Whatever.
  3. I went back through every UIA determination letter I've ever received - every single claim was filed during the week of the layoff. This claim was filed on 11/5, the Tuesday after returning to work. That's the reason for the one week delay in calling MARVIN. Ford messed up and you can bet they're not going to do anything about it.
  4. So a Canadian citizen that is a US alien resident can't work for Ford?
  5. Note paragraph 5: http://www.uaw.org/story/uaw-statement-retirees-and-2011-big-three-negotiations
  6. Could be wrong, but the way I understood it the 10% comes off the top, then profit-share amount is determined.
  7. Has anyone out there NOT cashed the check from the FICA overpayment? Please PM me asap. Thanks.
  8. Did anyone else have union dues (2 hours) taken from their 6/1 AND 6/8 paychecks (deposit dates)? Thanks.
  9. I currently have BCN for my family's health insurance. We are having a difficult time finding doctors in our area (mid-Michigan) who accept it if you're a new patient. We're considering switching to the BCBS PPO. How are the out-of-pocket costs? Coverage? Went to the benefits site, and comparison-wise the PPO looks decent, just wondered if anyone had any thoughts. Am I reading correctly that if there are more than three of us on the coverage that the annual deductible is $0? Also, early-retirement MAY be an option this year. How are the insurance options for those with kids (pre-teens) - poor coverage is a big concern and would be a deal-breaker. Thanks in advance!
  10. I find it hard to believe payroll will stop deducting arrears if the request is sent by email. Maybe so, but I would imagine a certified letter from your lawyer would do the trick. Good luck!

  12. As a reference, the 2007 contract was ratified on 11/14 and the bonus was paid on 11/30.
  13. This is what I was told, and wondered if anyone can confirm/deny it? The original Mazda people at AAI, who hired in about 10 years before Ford went to Flat Rock, will get that 10 years towards Ford retirement under this contract. Yes or no? Again, just asking for clarification. Thanks!
  14. I'm guessing our "signing" bonus is the same as GM - $5,000; they're adding $1,000 as settlement for the grievance and changing the name to "settlement bonus". That's why people who were hired in the last year get $1,000 less than the rest of us.
  15. The $6,000 is also being called a "settlement bonus", NOT a "signing bonus", which leads ME to understand that settlement of the grievance is included. I think we have all learned that the wording in the contract highlights are crucial, but again, this is only how I interpret it; could be wrong.
  16. The contract highlights state there is a $50,000 bonus for veteran production workers who retire; reuters has this article: http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/10/04/us-ford-idUSTRE79328U20111004 that says there are "early retirement" offers. Has anyone heard the specifics on these bonuses? Is it strictly 30+ years? Any info is appreciated! Thanks!
  17. No kidding!! I've been at Saline a week now and cannot BELIEVE the difference in the two plants. EVERYONE I've met here is really nice (even the people that are slated for layoff!), the plant is cleaner, calmer, and there's no freakin' cartoon music going off every 10 minutes. Some people here are really doing things right, and those running AAI should take notice! Thanks for the friendly welcome, Saline!!
  18. First 50 from AAI are reporting on Monday.
  19. Was simply pointing out that, contrary to the original post, the increase is not immediate.
  20. Freep article says "The benefits increase is expected to begin in late spring and run through the rest of 2009."
  21. Stoddard is a Global Insight analyst, not a Ford spokesperson. He "EXPECTS the automaker" to shutter plants. Ford is not announcing anything, this is just an analyst making predictions.
