BUT WAIT,,,,,,there`s MORE. I am laid-off and also under a 'Stay at Home' order issued by no less than the Governor of Michigan,Gretchen Whitmer.Okay well my checks all stopped and I need my unemployment check.Well I signed up and was told that I need to register with the state agency and be actively seeking work in order to get paid benefits.Okay,I registered online with the state agency but the physical office location is closed under orders by the governor.So,,,,how do I actively seek employment when the entire state is in a state of emergency?This is the problem with Big Government,it results in red tape and confusion with no accountability.I cant imagine the nightmare of "Medicare for all".The one thing government is very good at is finding you and taxing you if you get a paycheck.? I think that Michigan is going to remain locked down for the entire month of April.Should be back to work in May and this has really "cooled my jets" as far as trying to get ahead in our Democratic-Socialist society.My plant was already having a difficult time getting my particular trade to work sufficient over time.All I can say is HIRE MORE PEOPLE,Ford.Oh,,,the younger kids don't wanna work in the trades that much anymore.Well cant say I blame them,especially when everything is "FREE" anyways,EAT THE RICH!

Told ya so! The Feds money supplements State money and turns into State money before it is paid to us= Ford saves money by paying less SUB.Like a fool who thought just maybe I could work hard and get ahead in life,I worked {key word,worked} overtime and so I am over the limit and will not receive a $1200 stimulus check.They start up the plants and its gonna be rough getting those machines to wake up.Know what I say to overtime-SHOVE IT-unless its double-time. Fortunately I work at a plant with a good local and O.T. is non- mandatory.Why do people who have not lost their jobs or who still get social security or disability need additional stimulus?Why all the non-virus related Pork Barrel spending?Why are small businesses getting loans that turn into actual grants in order to pay their bills AND put their employees back on the payroll with NO-SHOW jobs?Moral Hazard?Who is gonna wanna work anymore?For what?To pay taxes and help pay the national deficit?Slam that border shut?Who is gonna pick fruit and vegetables and do the hard labor?When the deficit gets so high and it results in a government attempting to issue bonds at a negative rate, other nations balk,ask Germany.Result is the issuing nation buys its own debt.This is just writing a zero on a dollar bill and turning it into a ten.Currency is devalued and eventually other nations stop trading their "real assets" like commodities for worthless paper.I would not be surprised to see a war or conflict arise.It would distract peoples attention and stimulate the economy.Good Luck to everybody and stay safe.Please,stop hating your neighbor just because they have a different political opinion than yours.It is un-American.We DO have heritage in this country."We hold these truths to be self-evident",The Civil War,The Halls of Montezuma,"One small step for Man,one giant step for Mankind" ,etc.

I think the direct $1200 payments are "tax free".The $600 additional unemployment may still be taxable.I am also alarmed by the politicians taking advantage of the current crisis to rob the U.S. Treasury.Notice all the Pork Barrell Spending they are adding on.I am screwed because I worked overtime I made over the limit so I will not get a government check.As for the extra $600 in unemployment,well,we shall see,but nearly everyone in my state is laid off right now, and I signed up for UIC but have not received my EBT card yet.I am also alarmed at the loss of freedoms that people are accepting.This is why conservatives are skeptical of big government because it gives the government the power to take total control of your life and property.The issue will be when the rest of the nations on this planet no longer want to purchase US Treasury Notes and instead decide to hoard their national resources and commodities for use by their own citizens.I mean why trade for a very low interest or worse a negative interest rate US note?Then people will realize that prosperity and wealth come from the creation of products and services and not a government check.

The Federal Money added to the State Money is to supplement those who qualify for State unemployment compensation.The Feds are making up a portion of the States now increased payout.I am gonna guess that so long as this number equals 80% of the laid off employees take home pay that Ford will not pay us from SUB.This coronavirus crisis is a new situation.I just hope my State EBT card gets to me in time to hunt down some toilet paper.Aint it a Bitch! Yeah okay BUT the $600 in additional "funny money" supplements the State money and I am gonna guess Ford will be able to keep their Sub pay.The intention of SUB pay is to gaurantee that an employee is compensated 80% of their pay while laid off.Trying to 'split hairs' by saying that the states portion of the total compensation received by the laid-off employee is seperate from what the feds are stepping in to additionally pay the laid-off employee is not going to matter, so long as the combination of the 2 equals at a minimum 80% of the employees take home pay.Nice try though!

A 2 trillion dollar "stimulus" package has been agreed to by Congress that will pay laid off workers an additional $600 a week on top of what state UIC pays.In Michigan UIC pays $362.That plus $600 would equal $962 per week for up to 4 months.What is the incentive to work and risk infection?Just because some one has to have taxes deducted from their pay stub?Stay closed!!!!!!!

Local 600 is the largest and therefore the most influential UAW/FORD local.The other locals need you guys down at Local 600 to lay a foundation of fair and ethical negotiations on behalf of all the hard working UAW/FORD members.Not to be the first local to capitulate to the company`s bullshit so they can then turn around and pressure the other plants.The company is going to do to the workers whatever the UAW allows them to get away with.Included in that "Coronavirus greivance" is language that clearly states that any UAW employee who becomes infected with the virus or is forced to self-quarantine is eligible to go on medical or TLO?Because that is what I would have asked for!!!!!By the way where is that camera?I got me a "curious itch".

Here is an idea that may help keep the factory workers safe.Require face masks for all employees as well as temperature scan all employees.Anyone with a high enough fever,high enough to be suspect,will immediately get 2 weeks off on medical, to self isolate.That employee then must be screened before being allowed back inside the plant.Make the process as streamlined as possible.It appears that we are getting kind words from management along with the minimum amount of action.PLEASE try and distance yourself from others at work.I cringe just thinking about a co-worker chomping on a sandwich,talking loudly and spraying me at the same time.At times like this it is not unfriendly to keep your distance, it is an act of consideration.This virus is 'out of the bag' and will always be with us now.Good-Luck

All kidding aside,there is enormous responsibility ,for being reliable and on time, placed upon workers doing shift work inside of manufacturing plants.I will be honest with you,if I had a sore throat and a cough and was not sure whether it was coronavirus,I would continue to show up for work.I am suppose to burn up all my precious vacation time every time I get a sore throat and cough? Getting absolutely no compensation in return ?While all around me schools and other employee`s are either staying home and doing work on the computer or have been told take a paid vacation from their employer?The president has declared a National Emergency.The union should insist, that suspect employees, be given tests and if found positive, they become eligible to go out on medical.All kidding aside,those of us who do shift work inside the plants are in a tactically,difficult situation.Being told to "wash your hands" ,while important,is doing as little as possible.Seperation from others is what is called for at this time.Good-Luck.

I saw a list of trades who got the SRI on 3/13.It named 200 assorted trades from various locations with a minimum seniority date of 1977-78.YEA ,skilled trades buyouts ,200 of em,company wide.

Well,,there goes next years Profit Sharing! Its a cop out by management to always blame the employees. Salaried workers are paid good money to manage the business.How do they get away with acting so unprofessional and unaccountable?Be fair,be consistent and help make the employees job easier which equals increased productivity.The best thing Ford could do is go into these plants and totally bust up all the management cliques.Knock em all off their High Horses.Nobody gets a salaried job without a 4 year degree.Hourly personnel not following the rules?The same rules everyone else is expected to follow?Send them over to Labor and NOT just who you like or dont like!As for management,if one of them is caught treating an employee with disrespect or anything less than professional and they get sent to labor.Its a workplace NOT a prison or a Boot Camp.Where I work now is run on a professional level.I go out of my way to try and be a help to others.It is so much easier to be productive when the atmosphere is not adversarial.

I ran the hell out of DTP first chance I got.Largest {making it the most "powerful"} local in all of UAW/Ford.My anecdotal experience was that it was a 'Deal Shop' with my union reps distancing themselves from the situation as much as they could.Might as well have been working at a non-union shop. Be compliant.Take all the shit from supervision in the world and dont give any back.Be lucky you have ANY job at all.Smile on payday.Well,after all,it is their company, but then, if the contract is not going to be equally enforced, if the bosses can pick favorites and grant special privileges,if the bosses can harass to no end any worker who dares to stand up to them or they simply dont like and the "little lords" who they like,can do no wrong,then,why do I need a union?In a union shop all workers get the same deal.Let me tell you how that works in a union shop.I was friends with the UAW union reps at a small shop in Detroit.I was allowed to be close enough to watch the union in action out on the shop floor.The supervisor wanted to discipline an employee for obvious personal reasons,but technically, because this specific employee wore tennis shoes one day.Oh,about 3 union reps surrounded the supervisor and started hollering that this would not be allowed because and one of them took out a slip of paper,"On this date so and so wore tennis shoes and on this date so and so wore tennis shoes and you did nothing to them, so you aint doing nothing to this specific one person who wore tennis shoes just because you dont happen to like the person.I assume those union reps did not get anything special in their paychecks from the company for being so vocal and ethical.Another UAW aide,some loser named,Grimes ,was just convicted of bribery and also taking kick-backs.Its the ability to make deals that torpedos solidarity.Maybe the UAW will get taken over by the Feds.A major house cleaning of all the deals needs to be done.

I think the shake-up at the top of the company has to do with the poor financial performance of the Company.The top executives must be held accountable for the Explorer Launch fiasco,dont give me this blame it on the "gangs" bullshit,WTF?So Ford has an assembly plant that is controlled by "roving gangs"?Then what is the management doing about it?The "gangs" excuse might be a 'cover your ass' kinda thing.I think the Board of Directors lost confidence and want to try out someone new.I have heard that at that level emotions can get very intense.Failure is NOT an option.Enjoy your profit sharing from last year because we are starting out this year in the red.
