  1. That's what I found also, it would be a better package for towing if the eCVT had the better motor made in America. I placed an order on 9/19/22 which has not been accepted yet by Ford. I ordered the premium, tow package and star white. I was able to get 39.7 miles in EV in my '13 CMax rated for 21 miles and can't wait to try the new 37 mile EV rating on the Escape. It would be nice if the battery is improved also.
  2. You keep my salesman on their toes when I tell them information you give me and it keeps them honest. Everything you post I can take it to the bank and is very much appreciated. I have the best salesman and that's how he makes a living. The information you provide keeps him selling cars and trucks and me from interrupting his job. Thank you for being here and providing information I get from your post.
  3. I came back to the forum to find out more information on a new '23 Escape plug-in. It was pleasant to still see IceCapades is still posting the needed information and he is the best. I wanted the tax break this year also but I will keep my order I put in on 9/19/22 for next year and wait for a '23 Escape Plug-in. This will be my 5th Ford hybrid and 3rd plug-in with the eCVT and it keeps getting better.
  4. Glad you found the same thing I did. I was also thinking Ford may have put the newer motor in the 2023 PHEV in order to meet the new tax credit requirements of being built in the US.
  5. It appears to me the '23 plug-in FWD ECVT could be a different ECVT than in the FWD ECVT in the other '23 Hybrid Escapes. The plug-in FWD could use the extra torque so the gas engine doesn't kick on under acceleration as easy under towing. I noticed there is a different motor # on the ordering pages for the FWD Platinum and FWD Plug-in.
  6. That article was written in June '21 so hopefully the '23 Escape will have the new motor. The battery could use more distance also but I will be satisfied with the old system also. I've had the '05 and '09 FEH and the '13 and '15 CMax plug-in and loved them all. I put in a order for the '23 Escape plug-in but my order has not been accepted by Ford yet. I have a 18 Whaler and was hoping the new Escape will tow it okay.
  7. Perhapes tire pressure was the problem. One reason, Lampe suggested, was Ford's advice to inflate Explorer tires to 26 pounds per square inch, lower than Firestone's recommendation of 30 pounds and lower than the pressure recommended for other popular SUVs. The 26-pound level left "little safety margin," Lampe said. Heat that can cause a failure builds up faster in a flatter tire carrying a heavy load in hot weather. (Ford said 26 psi is safe but recently accepted Firestone's recommendation and increased the suggested tire pressure to 30 psi.)
  8. Put some air in them to the Max Sidewall and they are the best tires you'll ever own. I love them on my '11 Explorer and will not buy anything else! Gary
  9. I was planning to sell my '11 Explorer Limited before the extended waranty is out, and get a new one. I don't like the MPG of the EcoBoost and my V6 3.5L gets better MPG and has all the power I'll ever need. Glad Ford still makes this motor available. Gary
  10. Can you check VIN 1FADP5CU6FL101811 again? Thanks, Gary

  14. Can you check that VIN # again? Thanks Gary
  15. I've been driving that road for 45 years going diving and fishing in the Keys, and it's much better than it use to be. It's certainly not a place to be when you need an ambulance and hospital and I've seen a lot of bad accidents on that road. After market DRL's maybe what you should consider since Ford will no longer allow the dealers to turn them on. One other note about the glare of the sun, I put Air Blue clear windshield tint on my '13 C-Max Energi combined with the 6" stripe of regular tint and found I no longer need the visor to block the sun glare. Tint King covered the entire windshield with Air Blue and made me come back after three days to cure, and then put the tint strip on. Since you live in So. Florida also, I highly recommend Air Blue for that huge windshield to help block the heat in the cabin. Gary
  16. Last request: Bump, Dealer Code F24220, Order No. R310, '15 C-Max Energi, thanks Gary
  17. Bump, Dealer Code F24220, Order No. R310, '15 C-Max Energi, thanks Gary
  18. Look Rick, you've made this site a Tea Party right wing wack job. Nick was a moderate, and I welcomed his post. Gary
  19. Look akirby, me and my wife are Indian and we own the C-Max Energy. What the hell do you got against Indians you bastard! Gary
  20. My God, are you people comparing a bike and a Chrysler to the Energi? Tea Party? Gary
  21. Lifetime MPG, MPGe, and Brake Score (Regen) tells the true capability of a vehicle and the driver. My '09 Ford Escape Hybrid had a lifetime 53.9mpg at 30,000 miles when I sold it for the C-Max Energi. I now have more than 8X that MPG with my Energi driving the same roads much faster with the A/C. Ford installed Lifetime MPG, MPGe and Brake Score gauges in my '13 C-Max, ask them. Ford also developed My Ford Mobile to compare everyone's C-Max and Fusion Energi score to one another in their region. Hypermilers have been comparing lifetime MPG to one another for years because it shows a pattern of every tank, not just a trip. People have all ready started selling their Prius and C-Max Hybrids for the Energi. I sold my '05 and '09 FEH's for the same reasons. It was a no brainier when you compare 53.9mpg to 440mpg. At this rate, I should be at a lifetime 1,000 MPG at 20,000 miles in my Energi. Gary
  22. The C-Max Energi is a great vehicle for the future, the C-Max Hybrid will bite the dust with all non plug-in hybrids. The Prius plug-in is a POS with only 11 miles of EV range. I go an average of 30 miles in EV on a single charge in my Energi, and have a lifetime 440mpg as of today. Just ordered a '15 Energi for my Son. Gary
  23. Dealer Code F24220, Order No. R310, '15 C-Max Energi Thanks, Gary
  24. The Fusion Energi is the way to go hands down. After 3 Ford hybrids, I would never buy a non plug-in again, and I think they'll be phased out soon. I have the '13 C-Max Energi now, and ordered a '15 for my son July 15 '14. The Fusion Energi can be towed all wheels down as all Ford Hybrids, but you also have a choice of gas or battery power, or both. I like the C-Max Energi over the Fusion Energi because of being roomier. Gary
  25. I think whoever made you a moderator will regret it. I think the site is toast with your opinions. Gary
