  1. The regular cab look a whole lot better without those stupid looking access doors I think, Nice to see they are the last to offer the flareside option too as everyone else seems to have abandoned it.
  2. I wonder how much money GM lost this month considering that they only seem to care about giving cars away to boost sales instead of maybe actually doing things the right way. I would say that it is pretty clear that Lutz and Wagoneer need to be shown the door before they make even more of a mess.
  3. I can only hope that they keep the solid axle around for a long time to come, Also make the manual transfer case and manual hubs standard across the line. I would also like to see some greaseable ball joints appear from the factory.
  4. People need to go look and compare the price of the Flex to other 7 passenger vehicles and maybe they will realize that it is actually priced really competitvely, I remember back in 2002 when me and my dad were looking at Expeditions a base model which has considerably content than a base level Flex was going for 32k. Heck a base model Saturn Outlook stickers for almost 30k ( I am sure GM is already having a fire sale on those along with every other car in their lineup).
  5. I actually stopped in the Ford dealership to look at one last night and someone was actually looking at it, Pretty nice looking wagon with some very nice panel gaps and interior quality. I don't think I can go a minute down the road without seeing a new Focus now, They are everywhere.
  6. Ford's diesels (built by International) have been an up and down affair with the older 7.3 powerstroke being regarded as a battletank of a motor that kept going while the 6.0 that replaced it has a very bad reputation for reliability. The 6.4 seems to be ok for reliability so far but it is probably still too early to tell but it is true that the 6.4 has a whole lot more stuff to go wrong than the older diesels. Mialege for the V10 seems to be about 10-14 while the diesels seem to be below 10 in stock form, The big difference in price is also something to look at as the V10 can save you around 6500 and still have plenty of power to do almost anything one would need to do.
  7. Welcome to the world of Ford trucks, I greatly advise you to avoid the Diesel and go with the V10 which will deliver similar fuel economy, lower maintence costs, will be a 600 option instead of 7000, and will most likely have less problems. The new diesels are held back by the DPF crap that they are now required to put on which cuts fuel economy down to nothing. My freind has a new 6.4 and he was getting about 8-12 mpg with the DPF still on but after deleting it and adding a tune we were able to get 22 mpg on the highway cruising at 70 on the highway last week. Other than the subpar mialege and complexity of the 6.4 the Superduty is an awesome truck that stays true to its roots of being a true truck.
  8. Yea just maybe I could give it the benefit of being more like a V6 Ranger ( 3.0 that is).
  9. How is Ford supposed to be the leader of trucks when it's motors make you feel like your driving a 4 cylinder ranger? I would give the 5.4 a bit of slack if it actually got better gas mialege than the competition while underachieving in the power department but its just as much as a hog as the others without any of the power. And no I am not particulary excited about a TT 5.0 in the truck as it's just more shit to go wrong and will probably be more exspensive of an option than the 6.2 would have been and also will most likely require premium gas, Why is it that Ford seemingly always has to used forced induction to make decent power out of their motors? Oh well hopefully the 6.2 can still see the light of day and hopefully ends up atleast in the Superduties.
  10. Thank you Ford management for depriving the F-150 of an engine that might actually compete with the competition ( something it appears you never will do in powertrains).
  11. I have absolutely no respect for any of those companies, As a matter of fact last year at the autoshow I went out of my way to make sure I personally thanked every representative of an import brand for the destruction of the american auto industry. I would rather drive a 1980 Ford Escort than drive any brand new import!
  12. Got a good laugh out of the second letter, I really don't like seeing Chrysler shit the bed though which it seems to be heading towards. The fact that GM is burning through about a million dollars a day is not very comforting either as I do love Ford but also have some love for the other American companies as I can't stand seeing anymore imports on the road!
  13. Yea no thanks I think I will pass on these 21st century trucks, Something about owning a truck that has absolutely no ground clearence up front, a engine bay that looks like something out of a fisher price catalog, and a front suspension that belongs under a car doesn't really excite me much. Ah sorry guys but I just can't stand new trucks when compared to those of yesteryear. Thank god Ford still produces the Superduty, Now if only I could buy a 2008 with a 2007 front end attached and a 7.3 under the hood.
  14. I am very surprised to see all the E series hate in here, The van has to be one of the most profitable vehicles in Ford's lineup and I am not trying to make a Panther car like argument here becuase E series sales have held strong for the past 15 years or so and still manage to outsell the GM vans which actually seem to get a bit of marketing and have been redesigned a bit more often. Wouldn't it make sense that maybe the E series has a loyal customer base if it has managed to continue to sell year after year without much of sales drop if at all and without any advertising and very little in the way of updates? In my eyes it would be absolutely foolish to get rid of the Econoline as it has built a tremendous name for itself across the job sites of america over the past 30 or so years as one of the workhorses of America.
  15. Woooooooo, Another F150 continuing in the F150's line of ugliness since 1997! What an ugly looking truck, Does anyone on here actually think it looks better than what they built 13 years ago? I hope they at least found a way to design manifold studs that don't rot off after a few years ( Triton Motors)
  16. It's a V10 ( look at his sig), Nice truck wish Ford still made them.
  17. Good decision and congratulations on buying American! :beerchug:
  18. I agree it's a heavy duty truck not a caddy with a bed ( Chevy trucks), I along with many others will be very dissapointed if Ford decided to make the huge mistake of eliminating the SFA and will probably be forced to buy a Dodge as I don't want a heavy duty truck with some shit ass car suspension up front. Anyone ever see a Chevy with a real plow on it ( 8 foot fisher)? The front end is practially touching the ground! Just leave it be and let those who want a car like truck buy the F150 which is plenty capable for those who want a truck with a really good ride ( Coil equipped SD's actually ride very nice), I would hate to see Ford give away their commercial plowing market which they pretty much own just to make a few people happy.
  19. I was hoping to buy a new Grand Marquis in about 2 or 3 years when I get out of college as I think they are an excellent value and know how reliable they are ( I don't want any of that FWD jap crap). But I was just wondering just how much longer the Panther cars will be in production and if I can expect to see the 3 valve 4.6 with a 6 speed anytime soon? Thanks
  20. Well I guess I just might have to get going building up that 393 then won't I? Maybe I will have to make it a 408 now? Articles like this make me want to drive the extra couple miles a day poinlessly just to spite those Prius drivers that think they are saving the world. Nothing beats flying past some Hybrid doing 40 on the highway in 3 tons of American iron being powered by a good ole big V8 getting all of 8 mpg. Oh and maybe I will be getting rid of my V8 soon for everyday driving for a Triton V10 :hyper:
  21. Good idea, There is really no need for Hummer anymore as the H2 is basically dead and they can't sustain on just the H3. The question now turns to what does GM do with all the stand alone Hummer dealerships that just went up a few years ago?
  22. Nice looking Bronco, Someday I hope to add a 78 or a 79 to my collection.
  23. I hope we don't have IFS coming to the Superduty ever, If people are interested in a nice ride they can go buy an F150 and leave the Superduty for people who do heavy duty work such as plowing which is where a SFA really shines and is why a large majority of plow trucks are SD's. I do also think that it has hurt GM some in sales as I know a more than a few people who buy Superduties just for the front axle alone and don't even bother looking at other brands, Also a large majority of GM fans have been pushing for GM to go with SFA.
