  1. 6.2 V8 to show up in E-Series cutaways and chassis next year: https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2016/03/01/2017-ford-transit-lineup-new-engine-for-e-series-chassis-cutaway.html Good news that I did not see coming.
  2. GT500 needs to be V8 and RWD, leave V6 and AWD for another version just don't use the GT500 name.
  3. If for whatever reason you wanted a diesel powered 09-14 F-150 Nissan now has one available! Complete with Super Duty like lettering over the Grille too! Could Nissan have been anymore blatant?
  4. I could care less if it outlasts improperly maintained aluminum rims, it still looks very cheap on 50-60K trucks. If they weren't so concerned with cost cutting the alcoa alloys from the 90's and early 00's would have never disappeared.
  5. Had the same experience with these wheels when I bought my truck, a base Lariat was the only way to get a real aluminum rim. Who in there right mind would pay more for a cheap looking plastics hub cap? Reminds me of the autozone crap wheel covers.
  6. Sounds like the Torqshift G transmission (borrowed from F150) is F250 SRW only, 350 SRW 6.2 will still have the real torqshift. Finally some separation between 250 and 350 and still allowing us to get the torqshift if you prefer.
  7. From what I read on another forum the "new" 6 speed for the 6.2 F250 is just a beefed up F150 transmission, pretty disappointing to see some parts being downgraded in the new SD. The new Lariats from pictures I see do not have manual locking hubs either.
  8. Yes the current SD cab goes back to the intro of the 97 F150, there was no 1998 F350. The last of the OBS 97 HD's (Who wouldn't kill for the opportunity these days to buy a new 97 Powerstroke!) were on the lot at the same time as the 99 SD's. I remember reading that the though process was that the F150 and SD were trying to target two completely different markets with the 150 going more care like and the SD going for traditional buyers.
  9. I don't know why they find it necessary to keep changing the badges every few years, keep it simple! Not sure why they found it necessary to change to a vertical oriented badge either.
  10. The ones on the 11-16 are not vents and are not meant to look it (the one in the picture is aftermarket), the 08-10 have a large opening in the fender for the vents. Perhaps for the 6.4 they were required.
  11. Looks like we all expected which is a spruced up F150. Couple things that I don't care for are the fender vent (Got rid of it in 2010 and should have kept it off), bed height is too low and front bumper is straight across the top again like the 08-10.
  12. Hoping for 6.2 3 valve, I don't want a V6 or small V8 with turbos just keep the bullet proof 6.2.
  13. I wonder how long they will keep the SD cab going in the Medium Duties since the SD should be dropping it in 17 for the F-150 cab. Long past time they start offering the V10 in pickup trucks again also.
  14. This is rather disappointing but not surprising, Ford should do the right thing and retrofit all 2015 Supercab's as I would surely be pissed if I owned one.
  15. The best thing you can do on the Super Duties is use something like Fluid Film yearly on the bed rails where the two pieces of steel are sandwhiched together at the frame mount points, also the wheel wheels do have drain holes now which you can use to load up with Fluid Film.
  16. The article loses any credibility when they bitch about the 45K price tag of a decently optioned CC 4WD, what planet have they been living on for the past couple years?
  17. Manual transfer case available with Lariat trim again, rear door pockets (first gen had these then they disappeared) , Sport package with body colored bumpers and trim, V10 available throughout whole line up
  18. Just being barely good enough should not be the approach Ford takes with the 6.2, how about 3 vavle heads since the motor has plenty of room for growth. If they don't see the need to offer any improvements to the 6.2 in the long run I will never buy another Ford, they have plenty of time to tinker with this eco junk nowadays and leave all of their traditional North American offerings to rot on the vine (Crown Vic, E-Series, Super Duty chassis) while Ram and GM continues to invest in V8's which get better MPG and better performance (6.2 Vortec).
  19. The Transit has to be the ugliest pile of European trash to ever grace your local Ford dealership, thank god you can still buy a SRW E-Series cutaway and put a walk through utility body on the back. Just wait until a few years when everyone who bought a Transit realizes they won't hold up like the E-Series do over the long run.
  20. I would hope that it stays around in the SD, there are a lot of us that are not going to buy anything but a big V8 even if it means going elsewhere.
  21. Yikes that is ugly, should have stayed a completely different truck from the F-150! There is a reason why the Superduty dominates its market. Looks like I may have to trade my 12 in on a 16 next year.
  22. Perhaps Ford should build this? With a removable top of course.
  23. E-Series over 14K compared to Sprinter at 2K, America must really want those Euro vans?
