  1. Hi, I was wondering if someone could run an Oasis report for me? I'm looking at a used 2008 F-150 and the VIN# is 1FTPW14V98FB83755. Thanks, Eric
  2. Congrats on the new ride! I'm jealous! Post some pics when the new wheels come in, I bet it will look awesome. Best of luck with it. Eric
  3. I don not recall the exact parameters of the computer but I believe it calculates the average MPG based on the last "X" number of miles driven unless it has been reset. It does not go back forever. I have never reset mine and it currently reads 27.9 MPG. I have manually calculated each tank since day 1 and I have an average of 28.2 MPG which hasn't really changed at all. The computer has ranged from 26.2 MPG to 30.1 MPG during this time - I drive approximately 75% highway at 60 MPG, the rest is bumper to bumper traffic on the highway. Eric
  4. The fact that the New York Times wrote the article would lead you to believe that the article is anti-Tea Party without having to read it. That said, I attended a local tea party rally yesterday and there were approximately 1000 people there. There were whites, blacks, young, old, middle age, families, and folks of various economic stature. There were no party crashers nor was there any violence. We protested the size of government, the out of control spending, and the general direction the country is headed - towards the way it is over in Europe. I can't speak for any other rallies that took place yesterday but the one I attended sure seemed different that what the NYT and the mainstream media portrays. In fact, my local paper - Newsday has absolutely no news on the local tea parties at all (big surprise) - there is an article on the tea party in Washington D.C. though. We're out to oust many incumbents come November 2010, it is not that far off.
  5. I was thinking the same exact thing. I want to get a 2011 model with the Coyote, not the EB. I'm hearing November. Man, that's going to be a long wait.
  6. The 2011 Fiesta and 2012 Focus should push 40 MPG highway if that's what your requirement is. If you want a Fusion, the 2.5L I-4 will get 35 MPG on the highway - not too shabby. Good luck, Eric
  7. Congrats! That's a beautiful truck. Best of luck with it!
  8. Well, it looks like the '07 model has an auxillary jack in the center console/arm rest. I never thought of looking there for it but will do so on my way home from work. If it is there, I guess all I need to do is buy the accessory to hook into the Zune so it will play. Thanks, Eric
  9. I'm a bit behind the times and although I bought my Microsoft Zune 2 years ago, I am just getting around to figuring out how to use it. I know the radio is my Fusion is MP3 capable. Is there a simple jack to plug into or do I need to buy a kit where it plays through an FM station? Thanks, Eric
  10. Good point - how many people are going to buy a GT and opt to keep the 3.31 gears? The EPA ratings are been made conservative since they were changed in 2008. A straight highway run will get you 10% higher MPG that the highway rating so I'd expect a GT to get 28-29 MPG under optimum conditions. The 3.7L might be able to hit 34 MPG or so.
  11. The engine will rev at 1500 RPM for a couple of minutes when cold and also cold outside. As has been stated, this is normal operation. I always allow mine to drop to normal RPM range before shifting but the owners manual states that this is not necessary and the vehicle will warm up as driven. I'd prefer to not shift into reverse at 1500 rpms so I allow it to warm up.
  12. Congrats on making it to 100k on your Milan! I'm going to pass the 80k mark tomorrow on my way to work. So far so good. Here's to another 100k for you!
  13. Ok, tried the fan on the way home today - no air conditioner or defroster as I wanted to avoid the compressor kicking on for the test of the fan. I first used the controls manually. The fan works at all speeds EXCEPT the highest setting (there are eight bars). I tried starting at the low speeds and increase the speed one tick at a time but it still would not work at full speed. It tries to kick on for a split second, cuts out for a few seconds and then tries again to no avail. I then tried using the auto feature. The system tries putting the fan on full blast and I get the same results - it works for a split second and then cuts out. Raising the temperature resulted in the auto feature lowering the fan speed and the fan worked flawlessly thereafter. Basically, the fan works on 7 of the 8 fan speeds. For whatever reason, it doesn't work on the highest setting (I don't know that it ever has). Considering this is the only problem I have experienced over the first 80k, I am fine with it. The heat and a/c work and that's the bottom line. Thanks, Eric
  14. Thanks for the info. I'm not concerned about it - it is rare that I need to use the fan at full capacity. Eric
  15. I apologize for the confusing post, let me try again. The fan will cut out when I manually press the fan speed button to top speed. It will work for one or two seconds, then cut out. It does this a few times. If I lower the speed one or two notches, it works fine. I haven't had to use the fan at full thrust since the summer. I will try it again today and see if I can replicate the problem. Thanks, Eric
  16. My mother just picked up her 2011 Sorento EX FWD yesterday after intending to buy a 2010 Hyundai Tucson. The Sorento was larger, cheaper, and offered better incentives. I took a quick glance at it yesterday and the styling and interior looked nice. I was pushing my folks towards an Edge or Escape (they are not brand loyal) but they never even went and looked. They kept mentioning the warranty offered by Hyundai/Kia as being superior to other manufacturers. I'm not thrilled with their choice but it is their money - they usually keep their cars forever but traded in an '06 Trailblazer so I don't know that a long warranty matters if you are trading after 4 years. Eric
  17. Not to hijack the thread but I have a somewhat related issue. It is not a major issue - just a pet peeve because my car tends to get really hot inside in the summer. When I turn the fan speed to full thrust (a/c or defroster) it cuts out and becomes intermittent. If I manually turn it down a notch or two, it works completely fine. This only occurs at first use - if the a/c or defroster has been running it will work normally. I do have remote start (installed as a DIO at purchase) but I almost always turn everything off at shutdown so I do not believe it is tied to the remote starter. Any ideas? Eric
  18. Oops, sorry if I misled led you on my statement. I was trying to say I was waiting for the 2011 model of either truck. I've noticed a few members have already ordered the 2011 SD - I want to see it with my own eyes first. Thanks, Eric
  19. I saw some Raptors for sale on eBay for less than MSRP - I wonder if some markets are having trouble selling them. I'm sure the 5.0 will be available in the STX but you will be waiting until 2011 to take delivery just like me. The current incentives are attractive but I am trying to wait it out and not buy a 2010 model. I want my next truck to be the last one I buy for a decade or longer so I am going to get what I think is best. Best of luck, Eric
  20. Understood. Actually, the 4.6L/5.4L engines would be more than enough for my needs. I'm looking for a family hauler/utility vehicle. I've always had a pickup truck ('87 Dakota regular cab, '93 S-10 regular cab, '93 F-150 Super Cab, '95 Ram regular cab, '00 Frontier super cab) but with three kids, a Super Crew has become a necessity. We were thinking about getting a camper (not sure if I should go with a tow behind or 5th wheel) - that's the extent of my towing. I use the bed for light duty stuff (lawn mowing equipment, snow throwers, firewood, mulch, etc). That's why I'm thinking the F-150 would be enough for me although that 2011 Super Duty is starting to look appealing to me too! There is a 2007 F-150 KR Super Crew 4x4 for sale by me - maybe I should check that out first. Thanks, Eric
  21. Didn't know you could not get 20"s on the F250 with 6.2L, I'd live with the 18" wheels. I don't need a SD truck so will probably wait for 2011 F-150. I'd love to get the 6.2L but I have doubts that it will be offered across all trims lines. The 5.0L should be good enough - it was on my '93 and that only had 185 HP.
  22. Thanks for posting the link to the information. I was hoping to get into a new ride sometime this summer. I guess my options are to wait it out, buy a 2010 model, or move up into a Super Duty. Eric
  23. I was perusing other truck sites and thought I read that the 2011 F-150 won't begin production until November 2010? Is this accurate? That seems awful late based on other Ford models such as the 2011 Super Duty and Mustang which are due to begin next month. Does anyone have any insight on this? Thanks, Eric
  24. That's a great story. This is the type of buyer Ford needs to target - someone who isn't necessarily brand loyal who is looking for a great value. That's how a Fusion can be marketed. I'm glad your boss took your advice and found a car to his liking and hope it brings him many years of enjoyment. Eric
  25. I'm curious to know what changes are in store for the 2011 Expedition as well. Can anyone provided any insight? Thanks, Eric
