  1. I'm almost 100% posotive, but if you buy a F-450 with a bed it will always be diesel. I have never noticed them being gas as they go down the line past me. :shades:
  2. I don't know where he came from before, but I believe he came from LAP before he came to KTP.
  3. Line 1 builds 250's, 350's, 450's, and 550's. Line 2 builds 250's, 350's, Navi's, and Expeditions. I also have heard that KTP should be getting the F-150, but I believe it wasn't gonna be all of them. Apparently Ford has been buying more land around the plant to expand for this. Just what alot of us have heard at KTP. There has been a rumor that the name "Kentucky Truck Plant" is to be changed to "American Truck Assembly" sometime.
  4. No problem and I hope it serves you well for many years. I live hearing people being happy with our trucks. Thanks for the kind words. :shades:
  5. Funny I seen this thread.... I was just talking to a engineer this week about the new 6.7L diesel and also asked him about the V8 and V10. The V10 will stay the same, but will be used in the chassis cabs I believe. He mentioned something about skinnier frames so I'm assuming he was talking about chassis cabs. The 6.3L is replacing the 5.4. The 6.7L will be twin turbo just like the 6.4 is now. I was trying to get some HP and TRQ numbers out of him, but he wasn't really talking.
  6. That would be great to run E85 in that car. I have several buddies running E85 in thier turbo cars and they make great power over 93octane. I'm working on converting my car to run E85 as well. I just need some more mods first. :happy feet:
  7. KTP and LAP are the same local and both plants are about 20 miles from each other. LAP is gonna be down for 16 months for retooling and from what I understood the new language would allow the LAP employees to be offered jobs while on ILO during the retool phase. It was changed to the way I expalined in my previous post the day after after the membership at KTP made it known that shit wasn't gonna fly. I agree, plant senority should mean EVERYTHING. To some poeple thats all they have. It should be like any other time when a plant closes. The people are laid off and go to available work. Thats the way it was handled with Atlanta and I'm sure others from other plants as well. This is why I will more than likely be voting no when the time comes. I'd rather take that chance of voting myself out of a job rather than letting the actions of the UAW put me out of a job. No problem. Our building chairman came through Monday night and allowed us to ask him questions and he was more than happy to answer them. Not one single person cannot come into my plant and bump me out of my job if LAP closes. There will have to be a out of zone job opening for it to happen. I've read the changes and I've personally talked to my building chairman. Its not like LAP closes and then all the people with high senority just bum rushes the plant the next day and tells us to get the fuck out. They will sit collecting SUB and UI til jobs become available.
  8. IF they change the Kuga's name to Escape you will only be able to go with the product IF there are openings at the plant. Also, the 404 people that went from LAP to KTP has first rights to go back before anyone else I believe. Or local news station reported the other night that the Kuga is coming to LAP so who knows.
  9. It based off the euro Focus and it was raised 8cm. If yo don't want to watch the whole vid go to about 2:30 in it and it will mention it.
  10. There is alot of confusion because KTP and LAP are in the same zone and people think LAP is closing. What I gathered from our building chairman tonight is.... If LAP closed not one single person could come to our plant and bump us out of our job. Only way to do so is if there is an opening somewhere else. With both LAP and KTP being the same local, what they end up doing is combining both plants senority and go from there. Example... Say Chicago needs 1000 people when its up and running. They fill 600 positions and they need 400 more. They will then ask LAP for volunteers if they do not get any then they will combine both plants senority and start at the bottom and work thier way up. Thats how I was explained and understood it. Maybe it'll clear some confusion up or maybe it'll confuse you even more.
  11. I think the final number was 404
  12. I think the Brembo's on the Cobra was simply Brembo pads. I had a 04' Cobra and I own a EVO now and the calipers are completely different. My calipers on my EVO are more along the lines of what came on the 350 track model, STI, GT500, and G35 coupes. The Genesis looks to have those Brembos from what I've seen in pics. Can't say much on the V6 model Genesis, but the turbo 4 banger already has a aftermarket. It shares the same 4B11 engine as the EVO X. There are some differences cause the EVO X has a MIVEC head and the Genesis does not have that. If it does, its Hyundias own version. I haven't read anywhere that the Genesis has variable valve timing though.
  13. Yes, I understand that, but that .99 isn't gonna kill me. I'm still making $28.76 an hour. To me, that is plenty of money to live off of. My wife is a nurse as well so I understand that some people have only one income in thier household, but IMO, .99 isn't gonna cause me to go belly up and my standard of living isn't gonna change and if it does, its not gonna be by much. I make almost $29 an hour and have a 3 year old and a 1 year old son that both drink milk like crazy and I'm buying it just fine right now. Thanks! I feel that if I don't have the UAW to defend my job, the only person that can is me. If I vote no and it still passes at least I know I did what I needed to do to keep what little job security I have.
  14. I was told tonight that LAP is suppose to get a hybrid from this contract. I can't say for sure that it will happen or not though. Also, if they do get a new product, the former LAP employees that transfered to KTP should be asked if they want to come back from what I understand. We had some from KTP go to LAP back in June and they were the first to be asked if they wanted to come back when we started taking people from LAP.
  15. I was told it was froze, but who know. .99 cent an hour that isn't really on my $28 an base pay isn't gonna kill me.
  16. I'd rather spend another $2000 and get the new 370Z with sport package with 19" forged RAYS wheels, more HP, and just a all around better looking car. I don't need heated leather seats in my sports car. If I want to warm them up, I'll just fart in them.
  17. I personally didn't care about not getting a bonus for the rest of the contract or my COLA going up. Point is, my weekly check is gonna stay exactly the same as it is right now. What bothers me the most is this "out of zone" bull crap. I have since changed my mind from yes to no. There is no way in hell I will vote for someone else to have a freeride into my plant and knock me out of a job. I don't care if they have 100 years with the company, if they get laid off, they go to available work like everyone did in the past. My plant isn't suffering so why should I be the one having to relocate?
  18. As far as I know, all the positions have been filled by transfers from LAP. Hell, alot of them haven't even started yet.
  19. I could live with the RS being FWD if I were to drive it around being stock, but thats not me. I don't leave my cars stock. Traction may not be a issue as of now with the RS, but with it being turbo, a simple full exhaust, intake, boost controller, and some tuning it will have serious traction issues and the handling will suffer.
  20. Jesus....thats pretty much the same weight as my 2006 EVO 9 and it is AWD. I don't think this car will have halfshafts breaking at stock power levels, but I can see it happening with bigger turbos and more HP. The car probably makes just enough HP where its at its limit. Anymore power the car will handle like shit. I owned a 2000 Integra Type-R and it was fantastic to drive at around stock power levels. My buddy built his engine and put a big turbo on it and the handling characteristics when flying out the window. Although the car was rediculouly fast, it was only fast in a straight line. I seen that video of the Cossie Escort beating the RS around the track. I knew at the begining it was gonna lose. With it being FWD, it just can't exit a corner like the AWD car could. I don't see why Ford can't do what Mitsu and Subaru have done since 2003 and offer a toned down, direct model of thier rally inspired car. I don't know what it would be priced like if it were to come to the US, but IMO it shouldn't be close to what the EVO and STI cost just for the fact its not AWD. I'd trade my EVO in a heartbeat for a RS, but it would REALLY have to impress me being FWD for me to do so. My guess is the safety standards have gone up. Mitsu didn't offer a 07' EVO in the US cause the safety standards had changed to where side airbags were suppose to be standard or something. Mitsu wasn't gonna put a bunch of money into the EVO 9 when it was being replaced the very next year. Thats what I've read. With that said, the EVO X weighs a good 400lbs more than the 9.
  21. FWD cars are always lacking when it comes to fast 0-60 times. Screw RWD, it needs more AWD... :happy feet: There is no doubt this car is a torque machine and I would agree that the midrange and topend power is great from a rolling start. Anyone know how much it weighs?
  22. I can't say if one of them were yours or not, but to answer your question, yes, we build a mixture of all the models everynight.
  23. No need to move the plants or products out of the state. Simply stop voting for his stupid ass and the problem will be solved...
  24. I've heard its suppose to be a 6.7L making 400hp and 720-730trq.
  25. We have been working for three weeks now since we shut down for 7 weeks for retooling for the Expedition and Navigator. The first week we started out slow due to new equipment and started to ramp up production by the middle of the second week. I think we are pretty much on full boil now cause we haven't went short in about a week and a half. Gone 8 hours all this week. Hope you get it soon and I hope your happy with it. :shades: To the OP. VERY nice looking truck you have there and I hope your happy with it. I do the driveshafts, install the lower section of the steering shaft, hook your fuel lines up, and a number of other things. I don't get to see the trucks with nice shiny bodies on them.
