The first one works just for that voice instance. The second you press the voice activation button again the volume resets to super loud. I do not have the navigation system and subsequently my SYNC system does not have the Feedback Settings tab. I haven't tried the "Voice volume decrease" command yet and will have to do that. Something tells me it's the same thing as decreasing the volume with the - button, but we'll see. Thanks for the input though. If you go onto the sync my ride forums you'll find a thread on this subject and thus far nobody has found a way to fix it on a system w/o nav.

Picked up my 09' FEH on Saturday! I got the Black Pearl Slate color and let me tell you, it looks awesome in the light because of the metallic flakes in the paint. Overall I am extremely happy with the vehicle, but as you've all heard multiple times before the engine is noisy. However, it's something I can get used to and it's really not a big deal at all if you have the music on. I got the stone cloth interior and it looks great with the dual colors (stone and tan). I'm extremely impressed by the Sync system, but I'm still trying to figure out how to turn the system volume down so that when I press the voice button the system personality prompting me for commands isn't friggin loud as heck. I ended up ordering the black Escape All-Weather floor mats and cargo liner. The cargo liner fits well and the mats are nice and thick but could cover a bit more floor area for runoff like Weather-Tech liners do. They do the job though and really look nice with the Escape logo on them. So far I've driven the vehicle about 105 miles and have gotten the mileage up to 30.4 mpg, mostly city driving. This is constantly going up as it started at 15mpg when I drove it off the lot with 14 total miles on it.

Looks awesome. I almost regret not getting the white, but the dealership didn't have a color swatch I could check out at the time of ordering mine. As for the Allied shipping, indirectly, I am their customer and I think have a right to know where my vehicle is. However, I can see how a bunch of Hybrid owners calling in constantly can drain the patiences. But it makes no sense for me to call my dealership and try to pry from them where my vehicle is (when the only answer I get is "oh, it's coming") when I can spend 1 minute getting the exact info I need from Allied. I may just pose as the dealership when I call next time so I don't have to finagle the info from the Allied lady. Illegal impersonation? Perhaps. Worth it? Heck yeah, I wanna know where my car is!

I'll admit that all of that is slightly hard to follow, it does however make enough sense to me that I understand the overall purpose of the max charge. Thanks GaryG for explaining it.

This is probably a stupid question but why the heck didn't Ford allow the battery to charge up past 62%? or w/e the max figure was?

A possibility (had this situation on another vehicle I owned and it was exactly that). But I thought the Escapes have the no gas cap feature?

The day is almost near, I was told by my dealership that my 2009 FEH would arrive the week of Oct 26th. I had ordered it June 12th. I also called Allied shipping like mentioned at the beginning of this post and let me tell you, the lady on the other end was NOT happy about me asking for tracking information on my vehicle. She kept on telling me to talk to my dealership, which you all know leads you to a dead end sometiems. I'm not sure what happened between now and the times you guys called up Allied and the lady was so chirper, but I pretty much had to pry the information loose from her. I almost lost my cool because she was being so rude about it.

everyone needs to stop bitchin. this guy is excited about getting his car. if your on this forum then chances are your also waiting for your vehicle and just as excited. ignore his posts if you are that intolerable of somebody who's excitement level is above yours. Also..... I can't wait for my vehicle to arrive in a couple weeks!

Hello, I'm about to receive a 09 FEH FWD w/ mostly standard options. I'm told that Sync will be included but I have a few questions about it that my dealership for some reason can't answer and I hope somebody here may be able to. Does anyone know if the 10GB hard drive is standard with Sync and also will there be a screen panel on the front console to interface with the XM Sat radio, Sync, and battery life options? Or is it just buttons? I didn't opt for the Nav/DVD Package. Thanks for the help!

Well my dealership told me that my vehicle was schedule to be made today, so that's great news. I got the VIN# on Oct 2nd, and today is the 13th, so a little under two weeks from VIN# to Production. I'm hoping to see my vehicle before the end of October! I ordered a 2009 FEH FWD.
