You have some typos in your post, so it's hard to follow! Not sure if you want to turn DRL OFF/ON! If your light switch is in the OFF position and your "driving" the DRL are ON. If your light switch is in any other position the DRL are OFF. Since they work like this, what's the need to override it?

I see your ordering black on black. That means cloth, I assume? I guess that you haven't hard about the terrible staining problem on the '08/'09 from ordinary water?? Water leaves white stains on black.

All 4WD, so called AWDs aren't equal. Ford's system is a gas sucker! Where's the need for 4WD/AWD to kick in dry hard pavement every time you leave from a stop? It's almost like full time 4WD. I didn't learn how it "really" worked till months after my '09 4WD FE purchase! They call it "Intelligent 4WD". It doesn't sound too Intelligent to me at all!!

The EPA rating for a '08 MMH is 34MPG/city, 32MPG/combined and 30MPG/hwy. The EPA rating for a '08 4WD MMH is 29MPG/city, 28MPG/combined and 27MPG/hwy. 4WD costs you 4-5MPG. You take a bigger hit in city driving because the 4WD kicks in "every" time you take off from a stop or slow down and turn a corner.

Since Gary is a FEH owner, he caught the 29% SOC in the picture. Your :shades: doesn't explain anything!

Gary: I tried to search for an answer to your AC question but couldn't find anything. One thing I noticed for the 2010 FEH was EPA MPG was 5MPG less for the 4WD! I think that's more of a difference than on a FE. I did stumble upon something I didn't know though! You may have heard of the site Fleet Ford where you can view/download owner's manuals? There is a TSB tab which brought up a corporate ID/password input page. I'm a Ford retiree and it looked similar to the ID/password page for XYZ plans. I plugged in my ID/password, got in and I able to search for TSB's. I also type in my VIN for my '09 FE which brought up a page with the vehicle info with my name, warranty data, purchase date, warranty work if any and one particular TSB. You can view TSB's by make/model but the TSB's for a '09 FE were the same as a '09 FEH which is impossible of course! I'll have to play with it a bit more. In another forum some were having a problem with a white powder coming out of the air ducts on the '09 FE. I found the TSB on that and posted it! EDIT: So much for the backdoor entry! I'm unable to do that again. I'll have to try again late in the evening like I originally did.

Gary: You'd keep your '09 FEH, I assume? Having a electric AC compressor is a good point? So the 09 FEH starts the ICE for AC to cool you and/or the HVBP now? The electric AC would draw from the HVBP and that's better, why?

Your post #3 at GH link where you didn't understand the operation of the 12V battery in your FEH but somebody else did in the post following yours.

Read up on "current ramping" of coil packs and fuel injectors. You could have a wiring harness or PCM problem.

I remember a GH post about the function of the 12V battery in a FEH and your reply was totally wrong!

It only shows one Escape in stock and not that one!

Gary: That's some bunch over there. I hesitate to post anything there anymore. Full lurk-mode is in order. Just a good place to get a good laugh. I once had a Dodge pickup towing a boat trailer driven by an idiot cause a accident 50 yards ahead of me on a x-way! The guy tried to shoot ahead of a slow moving van but forgot about the trailer and clipped the van. The trailer swung around, turning the truck 180 deg, coming to a stop facing the van against the median. Why they didn't loose the trailer or roll, I don't know. It must have been the most perfectl setup of a truck and trailer ever!! I was still shaking when I got home fifteen minutes later and thought that I was going to upchuck!

I wasn't crazy about them when I started shopping either! I had certain options that I wanted for sure like a V6 Limited, 4WD, hitch, cargo, moon/tune and in the Black Pearl Slate color. The 17" wheels were always included along with my high priority items.

A warmer battery delivers more power. Just exactly what I said in "you know what" forum as was I told that I was wrong!

Show me some low profile tires with constantly spinning wire wheels and I'd say that was too much!!

Gangsta?? Not enough spokes on the wheel to look like that if you ask me. I have the 17" on my '09 and actually didn't know they chrome clad or plastic till I read it here. What about the plastic chrome look on everything? They talk about front end bumper crash tests, what bumper?? Isn't the six-disc player with the premium sound or what comes with the Moon/Tune option? I might be wrong though!

I don't think that they started to build 2010 Escape vehicles yet. They start building the next model years in Aug/Sept.

My '09 Escape came from another dealer and I paid nothing extra. They trade vehicles all the time, I'm told.

I've seen vehicles listed at a dealer's website that weren't at the Ford AXZ Plan website for that same dealer. When I got my '09 Escape, I told my dealer where to find the vehicle I wanted but they actually got it from another dealer at which it was never listed! Go figure...

Although I don't have a FEH, only a FE the workshop manual covers both, so I've done some reading. The FEH has a pretty fancy electronic monitoring device built into the brake pedal. If calculates by pedal pressure if your going to stop fast enough and if not the ABS system will apply your brake pads. If the ICE is running, engine vacuum is used and if not there is a electric vacuum pump for that. Some seem to think that you can't have regen braking and convential at the same time but the manual seems to cotradict that. Can you tell if regen braking is taking place without having a ScanGuage-II?

That VIN doesn't show up at Tropical Ford for plan pricing. What's the other dealer's name and zipcode?
