  1. OMG...Twitter has seriously permeated my entire brain and soul. I made this same mistake in text conversation with a friend.
  2. I guess I'm surprised the head of design overall at the division is still a director-level position. Every organization is different, but with my employer, for nearly every department, the ultimate department is a VP or SVP. (With 1 more directors in each under the VP/SVP).
  3. You may. I'd suggest a few practice trolling tweets. Try using lots of exclamation points.
  4. On this particular vehicle, $750 is nothing. Buyers in this market aren't exactly price-sensitive and most buyers are brand-loyal in the first place. I'm getting more and more stoked about it every day. Really can't wait to see it blow the Silverado out of the water.
  5. I'm going to have to ask you to leave. Facts have no place on the internet. And your reasonable approach to balancing ALL the things you like about the car with the potential loss of MPG doesn't match the narrative. But thanks for your participation.
  6. I get it, but I also get his point. The problem is he (Saintlaz) is trying to apply logic where it's not used in the handling of the situation. If it was, one would evaluate the issue based on its relative severity, the inconvenience, the likelihood of failure, etc. It either IS or IS NOT a problem of X magnitude. But with spouses and kids, rationality and logic are out the window. Not saying that's WRONG, just that the OP's actions here are driven by love, not logic.
  7. I'm pretty sure I'd read somewhere that they DID have a stop-sale order out on these...and then it was released. So maybe the inventory models have all been inspected? Seems unlikely given the volume in absolute numbers that are likely on lots.
  8. Yrah, but all but the least expensive cars already have either the backup camera already, the option or the very easy tech to add it on. It only be the most expensive on those cars where it's not even an option now, so there will be additional engineering, etc. Once every car just has to have it, it will drive down the cost overall to the point of being unnoticeable. (Not saying THAT makes it right or not...just arguing the economics/math).
  9. Yeah, but, but...buh buh buh....arrgh, stop it with your facts and stuff!
  10. You're going to make Jeff Darlington send out a bunch of DVDs now.
  11. So I just got THIS http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/14/business/gm-air-bag-failures-linked-to-303-deaths.html?emc=edit_na_20140313&nlid=63243131&_r=0 in my inbox. If this is reasonably accurate, this is pretty shocking, IMO. I mean, in a way, it doesn't mean what it "says" because we don't know how many people would've died in the crashes with working air bags. But good Lord, this is awful. And the NHTSA doesn't look great here, either.
  12. Ooof. Probably not. Maybe "They survived" is more accurate, just not as catchy.
  13. Yes! I'd forgotten about it but that was a damn good ad.
  14. Subaru ads are fantastic. They are about as effective as you can ask because they make even ME somewhat interested in one. The "They Lived" and in particular "Teach my daughter to change a tire" ads are really, really good.
  15. I sort of get the point as well, but I don't get the concept of all the things that will always be there is...a boring Chevy CUV? That's just offensive (offensive in the sense of offending my intelligence that my parents or what have you wouldn't be the most grounded/important/constant thing in my life, not a damn bland as sin appliance).
  16. You should buy a new dictionary, as it appears "irony" is missing from yours.
  17. Between 2-4 within 100 miles of GRB last time I checked Cars.com. But you're right, 2.0s are much more common.
  18. I have to say, I couldn't care less about the backseat in pretty much any car because I don't intend on spending any time in it. And I have to admit, the ATS is actually on my list for my next car. The prices for used 13s and 14s are pretty damn favorable. (GM's and their buyers' loss would be my gain). But I admit I've not sat in or driven the car and am certainly not committed. But honestly, the exterior is really more appealing to me than the MKZ and the level of equipment in the commonly appointed models is high. Plus, a 3.6L in AWD gets my attention. That said, I could never see buying an ATS new. The pricing, incentives or not, is pretty insane. A reasonably equipped model quickly explodes into the mid-40's. Right now, my next vehicle is either: A 3.6L AWD ATS, a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited or a new Fusion Titanium. I've tried, sincerely, to get excited about the MKZ. I just can't do it. The MKC, used, is a very close 4th. I DO like the MKC a lot.
  19. Uh, yeah, you do. You're still posting here. If it didn't bother you, you'd leave and stay away. Yet, here you are, continuing to stir shit you insist doesn't bother you. Between this and your completely bizarro "Americans are ripped off on everything...but I understand things are what they cost" nonsense, I'm honestly baffled by what exactly you hope to accomplish here.
  20. My immediate reaction to his post was that he meant the thread and not you. You're just an obnoxious narcissist.
  21. Obviously I am over it but some of the rest of you sure do have a problem with it. I just got through explaining that it doesn't bother me didn't I? Yes I did. The fact that things cost what they cost does not preclude the fact the we get ripped off by the cost most of the time. As I said already, it is what it is. I doesn't bother me and I don't lose any sleep over it but I'm not going to go all head in the sand about it and pretend to myself, you or anyone else that we aren't getting ripped off. We are getting ripped off, get over it. *WE* ARE "over" it. You're the one who keeps bringing it up, blasting us poor stupid Americans for not being as smart as you and realizing we're all getting ripped off. You know how you're over something? You stop bringing it up and talking about it. You're the one with serious unresolved issues, Blackhorse.
  22. You're...nah. You know what? I've promised myself I'm just not going let people like you get me upset anymore. You're simply not worth it.
  23. It not being worth the price at which they are offering it for sale is not "being ripped off". Your inability to correctly formulate an argument (you can start by understanding what "getting ripped off" actually means) is a big reason why you are dismissed as a crybaby crank. Think critically and make an argument. And speaking of which, that's another good clue you're nothing but some old guy with nothing better to do but whine. You sold the Focus, got an old person's Corolla and loved it. Fine. I couldn't care less. But for the life of me, I can't fathom why you keep coming back HERE to continue to complain about it.
  24. Yup. My sister went from "No fucking way" to "Well, maybe..." to "This thing is awesome!"
  25. The OEM Michelins that came on my Fusion were best I've had on the vehicle. I got 75k miles out of them. Now have Michelin Ecopias on the car now. Surprisingly, I really did see a 2 mpg bump after I got them.
