  1. All zone 1 skilled results were posted at my plant at 3:00 today. Your labor rep should have had this posted today
  2. Big risk in leaving the job security, pay and benefits of UAW Ford. Signing on with any new company and leaving UAW-Ford is not a brilliant decision
  3. Geez,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Never seen so much interest in $19.50 jobs with a transition to our wages. The haters on here are the same ones bitching about entry level last year (and trying to get people hired) that saved our jobs and industry in this country wow, kind of ironic
  4. You are correct. Here are the steps for all of the "chucks" out there 1) The attorneys on both sides are done with examination and cross examination of the witnesses and agree that all evidence has been presented and hearings officially end. 2) Once the hearings are done the union and company attorneys produce the closing arguments (briefs) within 30 days 3) The arbitrator has 30 to 90 days to render a decision So in essence I want to know when all hearings are done (1). Then I know that the attorneys have 30 days for briefs (2). Then I wait for the final and binding decision 30 to 90 days from the arbitrator (3). Still confused read the above 3 steps s-l-o-w-l-y. This is how the past 2,000 UAW-Ford Umpire Decisions have been made. Not a new process but it has been in our contract for 65 years. The arbitrators "decision" will be final and binding and in written form.
  5. Amen infinity +1 Our high wages forced the company to send our jobs to Mexico, Asia and Canada in the way forward plan. The actions of the UAW in 2007 and 2009 saved our jobs. The UAW proactively saved us. We (Ford UAW) are still the highest paid, best benefits and greatest job security of any automaker in America, Thanks to the UAW on this day our Savior has risen.
  6. I say Decker needs to run the place, its quite obvious nobody knows the business like Decker
  7. Trades buyouts numbers are mind boggling. I'm hearing a final count should be over 700. Production buyouts hearing around 500 in total. 1,200 combined.
  8. More than likely it was another hearing date. Again,,,,,, until the hearings end and all witnesses have been examined and cross examined then we know that there is 30 days to turn in closing arguments. Then 30 to 90 days to wait for the arbitrator to render a final decision. The real "update" is when the attorneys from the union and company agree that all testimony has been presented and the hearings are done. To this point that has not happened.
  9. Here is what we wait for: 1) The attorneys on both sides are done with examination and cross examination of the witnesses and agree that all evidence has been presented and hearings officially end. Those are the updates that matter.
  10. The shame of it all is that once its gone its gone. Republicans = Union Destruction. Bye-bye seniority, our lofty wages and non existent benefits
  11. Its time to support our union. The time is now with only 2 options 1 Sit on the couch and complain about how the union sucks with our great pay benefits and job security or 2 Follow Reuther's path to building the unions strength, building public sympathy and support for the weak and underpaid and gain much needed union membership in all sectors of the employment rolls to build our ability to prosper. The choice is yours. Sit on the couch and complain or join in the fight. There is nothing more satisfying or gratifying than protesting and getting arrested for what is right in this country. What will you do? I will join the fight and if successful this will be my 6th arrest on civil disobedience in support and building of our union. nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Flint —United Auto Workers President Bob King used the anniversary of the Flint sit-down strike on Friday to call for "direct action" — including nonviolent civil disobedience — to take back America from the "right-wing Republicans" and "one-percenters" he says have hijacked this democracy. And their first target will be General Electric Co. Seventy-five years after workers took over General Motors' factories and forced the company to sign its first national contract with the union, King said the same sort of militancy is needed to stop what he called a rollback of workers' rights and civil rights. "It will take direct action. It will take us being willing to face arrest. It will take us being willing to be part of marches and demonstrations," King told a crowd of some 500 cheering union members gathered at the UAW Local 651 to mark the anniversary of the end of the 1937 strike. He said corporations such as GE are making billions and paying little or no taxes while middle-class Americans are losing their homes. "It's immoral!" King shouted. "We should be so outraged at the injustice in America!" But he said workers should not stop there. King said the UAW is joining with other unions, including the Service Employees International Union, members of Occupy Wall Street and others to create a new "movement for social justice" that will employ the tactics of the civil rights movement to fight against what he called "corporate greed" and attacks on labor. "In April, we're going to be part of a broad coalition that's going to be training our membership and anybody who cares about justice in this society in nonviolent direct action," King said. Their first mission, he said, will be to demonstrate at the GE shareholders meeting in Detroit on April 25. "It is morally wrong — it is absolutely wrong — that they make billions and billions and billions of dollars and pay not a single penny in taxes," King said, his veins bulging as his voice grew hoarse from shouting. "Enough is enough. We're the 99 percent who want 100 percent fairness for everyone
