  1. Wonder if those 300 Dealers are all "West" of the Mississippi River? Curious how many EcoSport Vehilces can fit on the RORO Ships Ford is using to make this 60day Voyage. Some that Hyundai and Kia uses hold over 4000 Vehicles!
  2. Paradise Ford in Cocoa Beach, FL expects first 2018 EcoSports to arrive approx. Jan 13. Since they are close by Port Canaveral where they will be off loaded, makes sense.
  3. If it wasn't to avoid Winter, not much else Florida has to offer. San Diego is too expensive!
  4. Ahhh, Wimbleton White, how could I forget. Other then Henry Ford's Original "Black" Paint offering, name another Paint Color other then Oxford White that has lasted for 3 or 4 decades if not longer? They must have bought a Tanker Ship full of that Paint an simply added preservatives to last until the next millennium.
  5. Well, until or if the Yahoo`s in Tallahassee ever change their asinine Consumer Protection Law requiring Florida Residents to pay full MSRP on ESP Plans, I will follow the same protocol. Why not require all Florida Residents to pay Full MSRP on the Vehicle itself while their at it? The Florida Consumer Affairs Insurance Division claims it is to protect "Seniors" from paying (OVER) MSRP for ESP Plans. What a hoot!
  6. Has Ford used the Paint Color "Smoke" on any other previous Ford Vehicles? Also, Diamond White appears to have been used before on a few Vehicles but was "Non-Metallic". For the EcoSport, both the Smoke & Diamond White are listed as "metallic"? Reformulation for Diamond White? Hopefully its a bit more interesting then Ford`s many decades old Utility Paint, Oxford White".
  7. Until the out of State Dealer such as the one I have bought ESP Plans from in Western MA at huge discounts to my FL Registered Vehicles are required to take a Photo of the Car & Tag Number with a time & date stamp, proving you were on Vacation an Physically at their Store, the Audit means zero. I checked my ESP # on my FL Dealerships Oasis Report and its valid!
  8. As I Posted before, (won't mention Dealerships name) located in the Greenfield, MA area that will sell the Ford ESP Plan to Florida registered Vehicles and are Valid. Looked up my ESP in FL Dealer Oasis Report! The audit by Ford allows Dealerships (although discouraged) to sell ESP Plans to Florida residents (if) they just happen to be driving through the area an physically walk into the said Dealership to inquire about purchasing the Plan while traveling on Vacation. Is the Dealership required to take a Photo of the Vehicle and Tag Number with a Day & Time stamp to verify that the Car was physically at the Dealership? Too bad FL residents have to go to these lengths to get a deal on a ESP Plan while the rest of the 49 States (and) Territories can legally purchase on line at huge Discounts!
  9. Just curious, while Production of the 2018 Ford EcoSport has begun in Romania and being shipped throughout Europe and a host of other Continents, wouldn't` it have made more sense to ship Ecosport`s to the North American Market from there versus shipping them from India to N.A. from other furthest side of the Globe? East Coast arrivals in 3 weeks or less compared to 60 days going around Africa or traversing the Suez Canal? High Quality Control is a given factor at the Romania Assembly Plant compared to questionable QC at the India Plant as well.
  10. Once the EcoSport hits the Dealerships, in order to jump start Sales, I'm sure there will be more money "But on the Hood" plus Organizations such as EAA will probably have an extra Membership $750 to $1000 Rebate. Tack on X Plan and purchasing might not be too shabby either. Seldom do Leases have huge Margins over Purchases. EcoSports resale value is a complete unknown unlike the Honda HR-V. 51%Residual value after 3 years? A bit optimistic? Early reviews, fuel economy, reliability and reviews will have a huge impact on a Vehicle made in India an being brought to North America for the first time.
  11. Two thoughts come to mind. Now that the 2018 Ford EcoSport has actually landed on the West Coast and is sitting on the Dealership`s floor, when is Ford going to hand a few over to Road & Track, Car & Driver, Motor Trend, Autoweek, etc for their testing an initial review/impressions? Odd that not even Pre-Production EcoSports weren't provided? If this CUV starts selling an begins to eat some of Honda HR-V, Chevy Trac, Mazda 3 market, it won't be long before Ford pulls the plug on North American EcoSports sailing from India. They will find room somewhere very quickly in the US, Canada or probably Mexico to solve the ridiculous Logistics issue before MY 19`.
  12. Let me take a wild guess. This Dealer will sell the Ford ESP "At Cost" to residents of (49) States. By chance is that one hold out State, "Floridah"? AppleCare couldn't be purchased in FL either for years being the only State or Territory that was unable to purchase the extended Apple Plan (unless) it was for a Business or Educational Institution. Somehow they finally got Tallahassee to get on board. I purchased an ESP Premium Plan at a ridiculously low price from a MA Ford Dealership. He brought to my attention although Ford prohibits its Dealers to sell online Discounted ESP Plans to Florida residents due to some asinine State Insurance Regulation, there was a simply way to bypass this insanity. Once the VIN# and Mileage is verified by a recent Oil Change at a Ford Dealership, they write the ESP under the assumption you bought it directly at the MA Dealership while traveling through the State on Vacation which is perfectly legal. How is either Ford or the State of Florida able to verify whether or not you physically set foot into the Dealership to purchase the Plan?
  13. Ford recently announced they are killing off the C-Max in Mid-2018 for the North American Market. The MY 2018 C-Max will be the last. Sales have continually dropped after its initial introduction in 2013 an has been Ford`s poorest selling Retail Vehicle. Odd since Ford claims that 94% of all C-Max`s sold are still on the road. I still love my 2013 that I bought in July of 13`. No problems whatsoever and a constant average of 38 MPG in both City and Highway. Lots of room an plenty of power. Probably going to trade in for a 2018 Ford EcoSport as soon as they are available. Might as well grab as much resale value as still available around (8K) before they pull the plug on the Brand. Look what happened to Oldsmobile, Pontiac, an Saturn resale values once they were killed off.
  14. I stand corrected, true the Full Size Transit is built in KC an the smaller Transit Connect (now) Assembled in Spain. I believe when they first were introduced to North America they were built in Turkey? The Kansas City Plant became available after they moved Escape production to the Louisville Plant.
  15. Transit Connect now assembled at Kansas City MAP where previously they built Ford Escape & Mazda Tribute. EcoSports headed for SouthEast arriving eventually at Port Canaveral near Melbourne, FL
  16. The first of the RORO Ships heading for North America with the initial load of 2018 Ford EcoSports must be somewhere now at Sea. Curious what Port the first shipment will be unloaded? December is but a week away an if the Launch is to be expected sometime in Jan 18`, they must have set Sail by now. Anyone tracking the Ships on a GPS or following their Voyage on "Shipping Lanes"? Surprised someone on one of the Ships hasn't` leaked a few Photos on Social Media.
  17. The first year Production of the 2018 EcoSport destined for North America from India will probably be the last. The logistics are ridiculous. Ford has excess capacity at one of its North American Assembly Plants to produce this CUV in either the US, Canada, or Mexico. Shipping by Rail is faster an less expensive then taking a Sea Cruise!
  18. Biggest RORO Vehicle Transport Ships have 11 Decks an can hold 4,500 Cars. Not sure the size Ship Ford intends to use but since its a 2 month Voyage, you would think they would maximize the Trip with a Huge Ship.
  19. Just curious, since Production of North America EcoSport Vehicles began a few months ago in India, when it the first Automobile RORO Ship setting sail with the first load of vehicles. With 30 to 60 days at Sea, you would figure the first of the shipments would be on there way?
  20. Sarcastic? Who, me? Don`t even know what the word means. I agree with akirby, must be a missprint on the EPA Web Site. Impossible that the EcoSport could be that far off with the identical drive train on a similar equipped Focus.
  21. Chill out. The Fuel Economy numbers are just another example of "Fake" News! Once Trump axes the EPA, Fuel Economy Numbers will no longer even be required once the agency is canned. Scott Pruitt is on top of the matter. EPA # will be redundant
  22. Sorry, I stand corrected. Where I got those MPG numbers I don`t recall. Based on the same 1.0 Ltr 3 Cyl Engine in the Ford Fiesta it was rated as 31 MPG City an 43 MPG Highway. Based on my personal experience driving a Fiesta with the 1.6 4 Cyl Engine with Auto Transmission, I always got 32-35 City and 41-44 Highway from day one until it was traded in 3 years later. Assuming the EcoSport puts on several hundred pounds extra weight, it seems reasonable that it should get approximately similar economy numbers as the Fiesta with the proper Axle Ratio. Ford learned its lesson with the C-Max which I also happen to still own an love. Its exagerated EPA Mileage Numbers caused Ford $1500 Good Will Rebates an Consumer Reports still holds a grudge. Ford will if anything (under) estimate EPA numbers to avoid the same fiasco.
  23. My point was that my previous 2011 Ford Fiesta hatchback with a 1.6 ltr. Engine an its notorious Automatic Transmission delivered 32-34 mpg City and 41-43 mpg Highway from day one! Why would a CUV with a 3 cyl. 1.0 ltr engine get such amazingly poor fuel economy? Why not upgrade to an Escape or C-Max Hybrid (which I happen to own) for hardly much more money?
  24. Anyone notice Ford`s projected Fuel Economy Estimates on the 3 Cyl 1.0 Liter Engine? 19 MPG City and 29 MPG Highway? Seriously? Either Ford is under estimating actual Fuel Economy numbers because of their past C -Max inflated numbers experience or this mini CUV is going to be a Dog with Fuel Economy. I`m ready to dump my 2017 Honda HR-V for a 2018 Ford EcoSport but not if those fuel economy numbers are that bad.
