  1. It certainly makes more economic sense to Build & Assemble the new 2018 EcoSport in Mexico for the North American market. Shipping Vehicles by Boat from India on the other side of the Globe versus shipping directly on land via Rail logistically would reduce the cost per Unit even (if) the hourly wages in India are somehow lower then those in Mexico. Probably with the Unscheduled Order Bank opening in just a few weeks and the Scheduling starting in July an Assembly beginning in the early Fall, the first arrivals will no doubt be Built in India. Later production likely happening in Mexico. Canadian destined vehicles will be slightly modified an tweeted to meet Transportation Canada regulations and putting in KPH Speedometer Heads an Daytime Running Lights assuming Ford does not finally include them on all their future US Vehicles.
  2. It appears that (most) EcoSport Assemble an Production will continue in India for majority of the World Market with the exception of Europe. Ford plans to expand both its Engine and Vehicle Assembly operations in Romania. North America, US and Canada, Mexico and possible Central & South America are still targeted for production in India. With superior Rail Service in Europe, shipping out of Romania makes economic sense. For those being transported by Ship, not sure if they will set sail by Easterly or Westerly passage. If production is not going to happen within the USA, Mexico would seem to be a better alternative then transporting from the other side of the World.
  3. Florida BS prohabition on purchasing a Ford ESP Plan at a discount through an out of State Ford Dealer can be dealt with. An out of State Ford Dealership can sell the Plan (in person) to a Florida resident but (not) through the Internet. How can verification be made that you were physically at the Dealership on Vacation to purchase the ESP Plan?
  4. Perhaps the Mazda CX-5 stole the enthusiasm for the smaller Mazda MX-3. Chevrolet Trax and Honda HR-V`s seem to be selling well. Odd the Honda CR-V hasn't hurt HR-V sales?
  5. Ford is arriving a few years too late to the Party! Someone asleep in Dearborn? The hottest segment now is the Sub-Compact Crossover Vehicle, period! Honda HR-V`s and Mazda CX-3`s are flying off their respective lots. The EcoSport should have arrived here in 2015.
  6. Really have enjoyed my 2013 C-Max SE Hybrid and thinking about a future replacement. Rumors of a shut down of the Michigan Assembly Plant for Focus and C-Max Production for MY `18 and moving a new dedicated Hybrid Vehicle along with Focus production to either Mexico or China? Not that far away...Whats in the rumor pipeline?
  7. It appears that there is no loss of either HP or Torque with the 3.7 N.A. V6 regardless if you use the recommended 87 Octane Regular Fuel. Still the same 300 HP & 280 lb-ft of Torque at 4000 rpm? Gonna be (some) EB owners with buyers-regret?
  8. Was notified that my 2015 Mustang Convertible was in Rail Transit last week going South through Kentucky. Think it has reached Florida yet? EDD was 1/14
  9. ice-capades; Thanks for the update and your impressions of the S550 Mustang! I just checked COTUS for the first time in over 5 days and was pleasantly surprised to finally see some movement. The progress bar inched forward from processing where its been stuck for a month to now "in transit" as of 12/27. EDD has been pushed forward slightly by 2 days from 1/12 to 1/14. Hopefully optimistic that this 4 month wait is almost over. Happy & Healthy New Year!
  10. Something happened. My S550 Convertible was built on 11/25 and still has not been released for shipment. 5 weeks to be released, "Red Flag". EDD still shows on COTUS as 1/12 despite the fact that FRAP is shutdown until 1/5. Unless area Zone Manager has a (good) explanation, I`m simply going to re-order and begin the 4 month wait again. Let someone else take a chance with this (mystery) car.
  11. Would appreciate any update you might have. Built 11/25 and awaiting shipping for almost a month? EDD still 1/12? If it doesn`t ship by Tues 12/23, Plant shut down until 1/5, how will Vehicle arrive by 1/12? Looks like Feb arrival, 5 months from Order date of 9/2?
  12. Ford Media announced that S550 Mustang Convertibles (15`s) are finally being released for shipment beginning this past week, 12/8. Odd that at the very beginning of a highly anticipated new year model run that Inventory & Commodities issues would hold up production at JOB1 or JOB2. Paring down parts commodities nearing the end of a run is good business but choking production at the launch makes no sense whatsoever.
  13. Would you kindly check the status of my 2015 Mustang Convertible which I ordered Retail / Priority 10 / X-Plan on 9/2. VIN 1FATP8EM9F5332068. Was informed it was built on 11/25 and being held at FRAP awaiting release for shipping. ETA mid Jan? Would appreciate a confirmation or update. Thanks
  14. With all the delays in production due to "commodities" holds and shortages, be prepared for a long Hotel stay before your Vehicles actual Build date finally happens.
  15. With 2 hot Vehicles rolling off the Line at FRAP, the 2015 Mustang and Fusion, great place to be assigned at the moment.
  16. Quality Control is paramount for the recently launched 2015 Mustang Coupe & Convertible. While anxious buyers (including myself) are awaiting our Vehicle`s delivery, it needs to be built right the first time around. Who can forget the stumbling "twice" with both generations of the Escape.
  17. 2015 Mustang orders have already gone beyond 34000 and the Convertible in just starting to be built. Most won`t get them for Christmas or New Years now regardless of their Build Date due to possible delays in Transportation. Lots of OT at the right time of the year. Hope QC doesn`t suffer from the pressure to pump out more Units.
  18. ice-capades; Kindly update later tomorrow if any news of Retail Convertible Orders finally start to get pulled for scheduling as promised beginning on Thur Oct 30th. P8E/99H/13D/66W
  19. Lets see if I can repeat (my) position once again without upsetting your sensitivities. I personally don`t see 6 or 7 thousand dollars of added value going from a Base V6 2015 Mustang Convertible to a Premium EB 2.3 I4 Convertible. Was that political? Did I say that those who opt for that choice are (idiots)? I simply feel that IMHO, I`d personally would jump to a GT 5.0 V8 Convertible if I chose not to go with the Base V6. If performance and no regard for fuel economy were my priorities, I`d go for the GT V8. For (me) to pay a 6K Premium for the EB 2.3 and gain little in either performance nor fuel economy over the Base 3.7 V6 makes little sense, that is if I`m allowed to state my feelings without you taking it as a declaration of war. Now lets see how you construe this Post as an attack or something provocative.
  20. akirby; If we can simply attempt to stay on topic and not "go there" where (your) opinions are from Gods mouth to your Ears but anyone else`s opinion, especially mine is not valid. I in no shape, manner, or form have said that the 3.7 V6 is the only way to equip a 2015 Mustang, simply that (I) personally don`t feel that either the EB 2.3 I4 Fuel Economy nor Performance justifies the huge price increase jumping from a Base V6 Convertible to a EB 2.3 "Premium" Convertible. If I was going all-in, I would skip over the EB 2.3 even with P.P. and go with a GT V8. Must have something to do with your dislike of Progressives and Daytime Running Lights. Get used to it, neither one is going away! Power Plant wise, the 3.7 V6 has proven to be one of Fords most dependable and reliable engines right up there with its Coyote 5.0 V8. Thats not my opinion, its fact. PS: Didn`t I state in my earlier Post that I hoped that many 2015 Mustang buyers would opt to purchase fully equipped "Premium" EB 2.3 and GT V8`s that sell for 40K plus? I own significant Ford Stock and would love to feel the bump of higher profit margins from high end Mustang and 2015 Ford 150 Truck sales.
  21. akirby; Perhaps for someone like yourself, paying $5000 or $6000 extra to go from a 2015 Mustang Convertible w/Base V6 to the "Premium" EB 2.3" brings obvious value. I only opted for the optional upgraded equipment package 051A, added the spare tire 66W, and most importantly, selected the spoiler delete option 13D. MSRP of only $32,310 including Automatic Transmission. Using my X-Plan, $31,063.07. I`m hoping most buyers go (all in) and order their 2015 Mustangs at 45K. Should help boost Ford Stock prices that have been hopelessly lagging. PS: My blood pressure is fine, thank you. Since avoiding the Off Topic Forum and using my Televisions "V-Chip" to eliminate the possibility of accidentally hitting Fox News, I`m off all BP medications. Cheers
  22. Yeah, your correct. The two Ford Vehicles that I drove, both Rentals had the Eco-Boost I4 but were obviously the slightly smaller version 2.0 (not) the mighty 2.3. Regardless, both the performance and fuel economy was lackluster, at best. When Ford engineers decided it needed to include a Engine Noise Enhancement Chip to improve driver excitement, I think that shows that the V6 or the V8 is the sensible choice for the 2015 Mustang.
  23. Evidently you haven`t read any performance or fuel economy comparisons between Fords new "darling" the EB 2.3 I4 and its solid steadfast naturally aspired 3.7 V6. Based on 2014 Mustang V6 performance reviews since Ford refuses to allow 2015 Mustang V6 comparisons to date, the V6 is as fast or (faster in both 0-60 as well as quarter mile) then the EB 4 cyl. The 2014 had 2.73 rear axle gears and the 2015 has 3.15. Performance will be even better! The V6 runs fine on Regular Gasoline while the EB 2.3 (recommended) Premium Fuel. Since the 2015 Mustang Convertible is only available with EB 2.3 in "Premium" Trim and the V6 3.7 is in "Base" Trim, would (you) pay and extra 6K for the engine upgrade, a few unwanted options and Leather Seats? Go for it my fiscally conservative advocate. You manage the Nations Budget and I`ll manage my own, fair enough? I`ve driven a Fusion and an Escape with the EB 2.3 and wasn`t impressed whatsoever. I`ll give up 5 HP and a few pounds of torque and pocket the savings and reliability of the V6.
  24. Great News! Perhaps my 2015 Mustang Base V6 Convertible with A/T might have a chance of being one of those pulled for scheduling on Oct. 30th for build week 11/24? The GM at my Dealership is getting really annoyed by the delays of this bumpy new Vehicle launch and says the delays for the new 2015 Ford 150 Pickup Truck are even worse.
