  1. Sorry about that one last week, I was misunderstanding the status and was under the impression that the re-release may have gotten me an ETA (not necessarily show shipped). If this is enough time for a re-bump on: VIN 1FMHK8F82BGA21270 2011 Ford Explorer 4wd Limited If it hasn't been a long enough wait, pass on to next thread...my dealer said the delivery date is set for "this week" and I'm hoping that's accurate, we leave the state on Thursday for several weeks Thanks so very much-you are always a help!
  2. VIN 1FMHK8F82BGA21270 2011 Ford Explorer 4wd Limited bump please
  3. was not sure if there would be new info on: VIN 1FMHK8F82BGA21270 2011 Ford Explorer 4wd Limited I appreciate it
  4. VIN 1FMHK8F82BGA21270 2011 Ford Explorer, black on black 4WD Bump for Monday update... Hoping (fingers crossed) I'm nearing the end of this. I want to start saying my thank you's now. You've taken a long-waiting game and made it less stressful and easier to keep the eye on the prize. I look forward to posting pics so you can see the Black Beauty for yourself! Thanks so very much! THANK YOU
  5. VIN 1FMHK8F82BGA21270 2011 Ford Explorer, black on black 4WD Build date (TODAY!) January 31st In regards to above VIN-did it get built and make it to it's delivery truck today (or otherwise holding area for Jim Cantore blizzard of the year in Chicago!)...?
  6. Thanks s much for verifying that the original date is still accurate for my specific vehicle. Much appreciated! Have a great weekend.
  7. Hi cyberdman-I was told my date was "pushed back" try to see if you had the confirmation on that OR the new date for the build date...my dealer initially said that sometimes the first date that is given may not be accurate when it's initially scheduled. VIN 1FMHK8F82BGA21270 2011 Ford Explorer, black on black 4WD
  8. Hi Gary-what I think edge929 and myself are really expressing is not necessarily the issue with dealer stock being built and delivered before some of these orders. More of the issue remains with the actual ORDER system for pre-ordered vehicles. If I ordered on July 26, my order should be processed before the one on July 27th and WELL before the ones ordered in November. It's frustrating that (for me) my order was placed in the middle of October and I heard about build date well after people that ordered in November and December. I can only imagine the people that did order in July can feel, I sympathize.
  9. As far as the 3 week vacation---i'm ALLLLL for families being together on the holidays. But here's my thing, maybe it's just because I work in a hospital, where it runs 24/7 and you don't get holiday's off, you don't always get weekends off, it's the nature of the beast when dealing with our "customers" (patients). With a MAJOR overhaul to this vehicle, they could have really swept with marketing and had other shifts work...there are lots of people that enjoy the time, but I KNOW there were people dying for a job and any extra hours of work they could put in. Seems like they could have made two sides happy! Not only that, but I thought the official launch of this vehicle was this week, there is NOT enough stock ANYWHERE to launch a vehicle like this. Let me say, if it had not been for the tremendous effort from my dealer, I would have cancelled in the beginning/mid December when there was STILL no updates.
  10. Especially if the squeak is intermittent instead of constant, like you hear it every other second then akirby is 100%, serpentine. Basically every SUV I've ever owned had this issue at some point, easy fix. Radio reception, sometimes with an integrated antenna, you lose something. And did you get the DVD option? Sometimes if there is a wired or wireless FM transmitter competing for the station, it fuzzes it out...or is it all stations that have difficulty in comparison to other vehicles?
  11. You should have continued to follow...I have family in GA, maybe they got the delivery address wrong That's my car!
  12. I wanted to agree on the Range Rover aspect. My husband is in love with Range Rover...I was thinking about purchasing him one for his next vehicle (has a Lexus RX350 now) but have decided to see how my Explorer works out---once I get the one I ordered in October! I am going from a 2004 Lexus IS300 5spd into a "family vehicle"---yes, this was a gentle nudge from my husband to get his wife out of drag racing on the highway. we'll see if it works! But, if this Explorer is as great as I anticipate it to be, I may reconsider the Range Rover and get a second fully loaded Limited for him... I agree with the foreign cars, their interior was always a step above. BUT with this recent shift in Ford's interior, especially in the Explorer, it has some serious competition! The 2010 Explorer EB that I have parked in my driveway-my dealer gave me a loaner until my vehicle comes in-does not compare. I would have NEVER spent the almost $40,000 on that vehicle, but the new Explorer may be worth it, true test will be driving it and getting my 2 year old into her carseat. Thanks for info on noise levels, that is something important to me, especially with a sleeping child in the back seat or for plain ole driver comfort.
  13. The running boards may be gone...BUT (and this is a HUGE but for a professional, working female), the running boards were just another way to get dirt and grime on your suit pants, especially in the winter. My dealer gave me a 2010 Explorer EB to "use" until my order came in---ordered in October and still don't have build date! If you notice on the new Explorers, the door actually comes down all the way to "road" level---don't know how best to describe----but what I'm getting at is that when you open the door, everything that your leg may come in contact with was protected by the exterior door....so no dirt and grime. From my perspective, that is a plus. But, to each his own...and to mention, i did ASK to get running boards on this one!
  14. After a quick headbanging, I'm staring at the keyboard with intense glare and typing this... New Year was fantastic! Happy 2011. Tragically hoping for good news on: Dealer: F44206 Order No: 0001 Priority: 10 2011 Ford Explorer Limited AWD, black on black I MAY have gotten a VIN number from my dealer, but he forgot a digit, so I don't want to put much stock in it (I have added the digit in this post that I assume would be accurate). But if it's easier for you, the number I received is: 1FMHKBF82BGA21270
  15. I don't even know where my head was at--just re-read your post from the 14th and thought you said your vacation started the 17th instead of 16th. Hope you had an enjoyable extra time off and happy holidays!
  16. I second that comment! Still no build date on one I ordered early October---but in the MEANWHILE, just drove past a local dealer (not the one i ordered at) that had a similar Limited in their front yard....WOW-my husband dragged me to check it out, I walked through snow to see it and man, it was worth it! I've been so excited for this vehicle, and now it will be worse to wait!! The interior has ample space, the third row seat is actually USABLE and there is still a bit of cargo room when you have that third row up. It's going to stink that I may miss all the Northeast Ohio snowstorms and snowbelt snow before I actually SEE MINE!
  17. I went old-school and opted for the classic black on black combo...but I saw video with the Golden Bronze, verrrrry nice looking. Surprisingly, I didn't find a paint color i DIDN'T like on this vehicle. Even thouogh I don't usually go for blue, I even liked the Kona Blue I saw in person...
  18. Well, if it also keeps you from storming the dealership...in October, I ordered my fully loaded black on black AWD Limited and have YET to have a build date or VIN....so if they switch gears and pick to build the XLTs next, I may be the one storming And, I agree witht he post it may help me enjoy the cold-my 2002 Explorer literally made me excited to see the 15 inch snowstorms---don't worry, I didn't drive like an Ass like some people with AWD/4WD think they can own the road, but I definitely liked not clenching the steering wheel and having my nose on the windshield from the stress!
  19. Hi Cyberdman! Hoping for an update on: Dealer: F44206 Order No: 0001 Priority: 10 2011 Ford Explorer Limited AWD, black on black Thanks so much for your last response and (seriously) for the additional information on the ordering numbers--I'm like a Renaissance woman and like to get as much info about as many things as I can. If this is too early for a bump and update, just pass this thread on and move to the next-won't be offended in the least! Crossing as many body parts as I can for a VIN update and nice little Christmas gift (aka change in status)! Enjoy your weekend! Thank you so much for what you're doing!
  20. 1) Completely jealous of the Mustang collection-really. Sounds like you were the author of the 10 best Mustang article...can't quite remember which one of my car magazines had it---this it was Motor Trend, maybe Car and Driver. 2) Appreciate the advice to stick out the wait! At this point, I sure better enjoy it! 3) Just be happy you're not my husband who gets to deal with this anxious wait every day of his life! I purchased my 2002 Ford Explorer at the same time as the '02 GT so that I could have a spare "winter" car....but I sold it a few years ago and was anxious to be down to only one vehicle to fit my needs---apparently I'm not allowed to have toys anymore or crawl under a car....sheesh. But, minus the crack under the emblem of the rear panel, it was honestly my favorite vehicle. A BEAST in the winter, BEAST! I hope this exceeds that vehicle, because it had a special place in my heart, right next to my 1987 5.0
  21. I actually did contact my dealer salesperson an hour ago. They had 3 other orders before mine. 2 of those orders have received VINs and build dates for January 10th and 17th respectively. I am just a little saddened that at the EARLIEST I can even expect to see my vehicle will likely be early February. They have no allocation problems and he spat out some numbers that sounded good, but I didn't care to commit to memory. Even as upset as I may be, I still love Ford through and through. I'm a Mustang girl, Camaro hater () and very avid....I also, unfortunately, got more customer service "educated" in my adult life and do come to expect more. I am fortunate to have a very good dealer who does give me updates, doesn't change that I'm bummed! To be honest, if I had forseen the vehicle not making it until almost the end of winter, I probably would have shopped another brand to make it through. not only is the RWD vehicle staring at me, but knowing I was going to trade in (that was back in October), I didn't put new tires on the car, and with 42000, the Zrated tread is getting a tad low! Ah well, I'll try to make do stealing my husband's AWD vehicle for the long haul to all my clinics! And I definitely agree, it sounds like it may have just been a late placement. My salesperson advised that after he and the dealership were hit hard with the Fiesta Fiasco, they give their customers priority over stock and end up ordering our vehicles AS their dealerstock and similar pre-orders so that whatever comes first can get into the customers hands. They really are a customer friendly dealer, which is actually making up for my other unhappiness....
  22. Ha! I really do appreciate both comments a lot...like I said, i don't WANT to be frustrated, but there are things that are frustrating. And, the best part, the dealer was very up front with me that the production didn't start until December, blah blah blah...which is why I knew not to expect a whole lot more until the first or second week. And I really do also understand about BMW/Lexus and certain other brands that make less of a particular model, that I get, but it really seems like the longer I get pushed into getting a build date, the worse it looks....that's just customer opinion. I remember when I ordered my 2002 Mustang.....it was a great experience. I did check with dealer, have a priority 10...I was their first pre-order for the Explorer and they actually didn't put in their stock until around the same time (I didn't ask if it was before or after). My dealership is one of the largest in the State and does have allocation...didn't specifiy because it really wasn't my salesperson and I didn't want to bark up a different tree-I believe that's something of a discussion for the person actually earning my money (but this other person was very nice). I got a print out of the order verification, showing priority 10, so that's good that they were honest! At this point, I doubt the dealer could even locate a vehicle similar and ship from another dealer, these things are literally driving off lots within hours---to customers who didn't pre-order...argh. Again---thanks a bunch---Unfortunately with all the logic between myself, my husband and you two, it still doesn't add up to good math in my head---but that's also because this is emotionally weighted with 18 inches of snow and a rear-wheel drive car sitting there starting at me
  23. It may just be me, and maybe I just need someone to disagree with me or make a good point about why I shouldn't be upset about my 2011 Ford Explorer pre-order. Here's the scenario: I was not the first pre-order, by far, I ordered on October 22 for a black on black loaded AWD Limited. I expected to not hear any great news (regarding VIN, delivey or build dates) until closer to the first week in December. Now, I still have not yet gotten a VIN, build date or ANYTHING. I've had my status checked by another member of the blueoval forums (awesome to have that person here!). It's unfortunate that mine is YET to be a scheduled vehicle for production. With several other pre-orders not being built until January 10th, it's pretty clear that mine is being pushed later and later. BUT-here's what really chaps me. It's the fact that, while I chose to SUPPORT Ford in building a brand new model (A company lives with pre-orders for this type of radical change---) by pre-ordering before test driving, seeing in person, anything...there are still PLENTY of people that have driven off dealer lots in their BRAND NEW 2011 ford explorer that WASN'T a pre-order. That's ridiculous. It really is. I see plenty of Ford reasons that "people need to see the car before they buy it" and I get that, I really do. But I guess I would have expected these people to be able to test drive a Dealer vehicle NOT for sale and place their order for the car they would like, OR choose to wait for additional dealer stock FOLLOWING all the pre-orders being build AND delivered. Is it just me that's really disappointed that a company is doing this? I've ordered Lexus and BMW and clearly, what will keep Ford out of the Luxe segment is the ability to please their customers. You're treated top notch by these dealers and they work so well with you for your vehicle ordering process. I wouldn't dream of my exact BMW being built somewhere and shipped to another dealer for "stock" when I could have had it earlier. The customer experience is starting to pull much more weight with vehicles and especially in this economy. I put a deposit for a vehicle I've heard no good news about and that's money I could have been earning interest on in the bank, rather than the dealer earning interest. And all this, knowing that there are plenty of "pleased" NON-pre order customers driving around====in what may very well be MY vehicle. Again-if anyone wants to "talk me down" from this standing, I'd be more than happy to hear. My husband couldn't make me feel much better about it this morning, so I'm turning to someone else to be my therapist. Of course, please post your honest opinion...if you're disappointed too, it would be good to not feel alone! Thanks for listening
  24. Regardless of what all the reports are saying, I, for one, would LOVE to see another Aviator. I don't know why, but I really liked that vehicle when it came out. Unfortunately, I was at a point in my life where it didn't make sense to have that kind of vehicle. Now, it makes loads of sense and I think it would be nice to see how they Lincolnize the 2011 Explorer!
