I would like to be able to get heated and cooled seats on an FX4. Those black seats will be hot this summer. In general it would be nice if you had more freedom to pick and choose options. I know a buddy of mine is not buying a new F150 simply because he can't find a way to get the options he wants on one truck.
If gas prices keep going up you may never see a redesign of the expedition. Maybe they can save it with a lighter weight platform and more efficient engines.
I imagine Ford would sell way more than 80k Rangers per year if they made the truck competitive with other offerings. Now would have been perfect timing since Toyota is vulnerable with their weakened reputation.
GM might get lucky with the Volt now that gas prices are shooting up again. I thought they had missed the boat since it was delayed to market. Nonetheless, its not a great EV/hybrid so I wouldn't expect really big numbers for it.
I'm with Johndeeretreefarmer. I have heard they may lighten the next generation F150 up a few hundred pounds. That seems like the best path forward to me. I hope its not until 2014 because I want to drive my 2011 for a while.
I drove a 2011 FX4 with Ecoboost early last month to see what all the fuss was about. Needless to say I was very impressed. This will be my first Ford. Supposed to be built today. Lets hope everything moves quickly once its built.
