  1. Yeah, we ran 10.2 Mon. night, but I'm hearing we are only working Fri.-Sun. this upcoming weekend and then laid off for another week. (?)
  2. Where are the LTS's? The company pimped hundreds of us for almost a decade, but now they won't bring in some seasonal help?
  3. Yeah, he's talking about MAP. I'm not sure why B is working over, especially when C has grievances filed for the past two years.
  4. So far just sitting here. Lots of ppl missing.
  5. I did the same thing this week. I had zero faith in it going down the way they had laid it out before we left. Logged into Miwam on Friday and it said I had a week unclaimed, so I claimed it. I had got a letter from the company saying I was to certify on the 30th. (was told the 23rd before we left) Not sure why they want to file an additional claim, if we would have just stayed on the one from Nov. seems a lot less confusing to me. We probably won't see SUB pay until February...
  6. I have a family and bills to pay. I know where you're coming from; this is America and I can do whatever yada-yada-yada, but the fact of the matter is I had already worked for many years under one premise, before they started changing the rules.
  7. I had been working 5 yrs by '07 and 9 yrs by '11, respectively, when they started implementing the 2 tier system. I got fucked, and I doubt I'll ever "get over it".
  8. Yeah, I'm not buying into the re-tooling theory for this month. But we do know they are remodeling the Engine Line, and they want(ed) to do it over Christmas break. Nobody believes they can get it done in those 10-11 days, so now we're hearing we may get all the weeks in December and be down for that month.
  9. This was just confirmed by our committee guy. He said sales are down and for re-tooling. Also said there's a possiblity we may be down 1 week a month up till March.
  10. So, last week was a really warm one to start out. lol What did you think? How's it going?
  11. Nah, it doesn't work like that. You want to keep good attendance so the company knows you'll come to work, and where ever they need people after this assignment is up, is where you'd go. And no matter how hard you work, it doesn't equate more money. Raises are given at 90 days if you're a TPT, I think, and yearly if you make full-time. Not sure how much it is. They'll go over all that at orientation too. You can find more on the contract here: http://www.uaw.org/members/uaw-bargaining
  12. It's typically 3 days. You'll be briefed on your assignment, what they do/make at the plant, sometimes, the history of the plant. You'll meet your various union reps. You'll watch videos on safety, equality, etc. (They are somewhat dated and very boring and long) Don't fall asleep! You'll get your pic taken for your ID. That's about it... Some paper work maybe.
  13. If you're going in for orientation, you got the job. Congrats! You'll start getting paid that day, and they wouldn't put you on payroll unless everything was on the up-and-up. They're calling it a temp assignment, and it most likely is as far as that plant, but if you keep good attendance you'll probably get sent to a different plant when it's over. Good luck!
  14. All the new people I have talked with have been "temping" for years. (just like me) I was told in 2010 that Ford is not testing for new people. (academic & dexterity tests) They have 100's, maybe even 1000+ from all the locations around here, and people that took the first buyout are allowed to come back, either this year or next year. But like everyone already knows, who you know can get you on the fast-track.
  15. I worked about 6 months in 2011 as a LTS, am I entitled to a profit sharing check? And if so, who do I get in contact with?
  16. The letter I was mailed said they were only taking into consideration our weeks/time of service since the '07 contract.
  17. They mailed a letter. It was certified, so if you weren't home, it went to the post office and you have to go get it. It asks us which plant (CAP or LAP) we would prefer. We don't get any money to move though and if you decline or don't respond, they will take you off the Out-of-zone list. Also, they are only taking into account our years or time(s) of service since Nov. '07.
  18. Well, turns out the woman that called us was misinformed. We weren't called for Stamping, but to fill-in at DDMP for the rest of summer (15 of us). Guesstimates are we will be there until Sept. - Oct. Shoes were okay, they have to be all upper leathers with "substantial" soles.
  19. Thanks for the info. I guess I'll see how it goes; I don't have boots.
  20. I was told to report to Stamping this Monday at 6am. Can anyone tell me if Stamping is on 4-10's or 5-8's, any guesses as to how long this assignment will be, and are pants and sleeves mandatory?
  21. I know how this is. I have never been late or missed a day since I started. Every new place we're sent, we get a new boss that doesn't know our work history/job performances and could possibly fire us for whatever reason. It can be stressful. I have never had any issues that would warrant that, but still.
  22. Hey there, paintengr. I am also a LTS. I started in '02, got "re-hired" in '07 (back to starting wage) and "re-hired" again in '10, and again cut back to starting wage. I have been given assignments in 5 different facilities over the past 9 years. All of the LTS's I have talked to since last May (people I met at AAI, Romeo, & most recently Dearborn) had all gotten reset in '07, or when called back to work either last year or this year, like me. Some LTS's are making more than others though. Almost everyone I've meet over the past year seemed to be making more than me, but they had been "currently" working at their respective buildings longer than I. I had never been an employee at AAI and I didn't work for Ford at all in '09.
