  1. You might think 551 would want to get busy with our Local Contract, When we have the company at a little disadvantage in regards to the company has plan in place to go to three crews. The leverage should be on the Union side, or maybe will will here the usual b.s. We need to agree to everything the Company wants or We wont go to Three crew. To late, the Company has already shown there hand with all the New Additional Managment brought in, and all the promotions that are taking place to set everything up for three crew. Hows this sound, You guys need to work with us and give up all the classifacations in order for the plant to be in a position to go to three crew Since March with No Contract, well everyone is probably very busy, Im sure they will get around to it one day. 2 of 1788.
  2. Any truth to the rumor there is a petition going around to remove the plant Chairman?
  3. CAP recently went to tag relief, None of the jobs were posted!!!!!!!!!!!! The company wanted to rush in tag relief, to fill the void until we go to three crews, so the posting process was by passed. It was all done thru a survey. In our last local agreement, we agreed to give up non pro postings, which means everything should go up for a job promotion posting. No relief jobs posted at CAP.
  4. Has anyone heard what the Local Leadership is going after in our Local Contract? Lets remind ourselves the membership voted the IUAW contract down by 77% Maybe they should start getting a top ten list of what the membership would like to see ? Everyone has different wants and needs. Remember the old saying the membership is the highest authority. 2007 UAW LOCAL HIGHLIGHTS 2007 UAW LOCAL HIGHLIGHTS I tried to get it all in Agreed to adopt a 4x10s Alternative work schedule While the 4x10s pattern is a major change when compared to the current 5 day work week, the bargaining team believes this sacrifice makes the plant much more attractive for future product. That brings long term benefits to the entire workforce. The 4x10s affords the opportunity for people to balance work and home life. All production employees would now have 3 days off ( Fri Sat Sun ) for personal tiime, family events, recovery time , rest and leisure. The weekly production schedule would be Mon Tue Wed Thur. Friday would only be scheduled if sales volumes dictated the need for more vehicles. Scheduled days cant be changed or rotated! Prevent the company from eleminating Envronmental Relief immediately The bargaining teams focus was to protect the health and safety of our members Stopped the companys attempt to go to shift bump only once a year The new shift bump will take place once a month, up to 8 people allowed per dept New job posting agreement eliminates non promotional postings New language to allow us to have employees taken off the line to review the job once selected to determine if they want the job No relief jobs were posted??????????] Blocked the companys push to eliminate our 5 unpaid days off New gate access policy and monthly forum to capture all new issues on a matrix regarding security and the parking lot :blah: Clarified language on the parking lot policy for foreign vehicles A weekly forum was created between the union and the medical dept to capture medical concerns A Barg unit will have the responibility of capturing all of the concerns Negotiated the implementation of ice chest Recent letter stating we just secured this again?????????? :blah: The union was able to break ground to allow 2 pipefitters and 2 electricians to be trained and cert to meet city of chgo local ord A special reward and recongnition event annually Improved early lunch/break process The union forced the company to a 3 month overtime equalization period To ensure world class launches, the company and the union developed a joint process for the selection and de selection of product specialist The union convinced the company to conduct a quality boot camp Parking lot improvements :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: Refused the companys proposal for year round rebalances :blah: :blah: Rejected the companys desire to eliminate contractor matching Stopped the companys plan to outsource mpl Pre vented the companys repeated attempts to abolish the skilled trades lines of Demarcation Re inforced and clarified the role of the skilled trades project committee and project coordinator Fought to stop a strong push by the company to eliminate all torque inspectors Allowed the implemantation of a quality improvement process Agreed to skilled trades performing periodic weld checks and sealer checks Repair people will drive cars they repair to the designated area Pre time in paint will be discontinued We gave up shutting the line down 3 mins early Three separate Q and A sessions at the union hall You already have the above in your contract
  5. Can we use our free legal service before it expires to start leagal processes to elect IUAW
  6. This is the craziest post I have ever seen. Do you really think people would believe this. You should be embarassed to even post something like this. Go make up another new id, if you have that much free time on your hands, because you just embarassed yourself with this post.
  7. Section 3. The salaries of the International President, International Secretary-Treasurer, International Vice Presidents and International Executive Board Members in full for services rendered by each of said officers shall be the following sums: International President, one hundred and fifty-three thousand, two hundred and forty-eight dollars and twenty-nine cents ($153,248.29) per annum. International Secretary-Treasurer, one hundred and forty-two thousand, eighty dollars and eighty-seven cents ($142,080.87) per annum. International Vice Presidents, one hundred and thirty-seven thousand, seven hundred and eighteen dollars and fifty-nine cents ($137,718.59) per annum. International Executive Board Members, one hundred and twenty-six thousand, five hundred and fifty-one dollars and thirteen cents cents ($126,551.13) per annum.
  8. Jimmy, should go back to the bargaining table and get us a real contract.
  9. Everyone has the right to vote yes or no based on what they would like to see in the Contract. If the IUAW really wanted to avoid all the B.S. they would have the top ten issues posted on a website for the members to vote on before the Contract negotiations started, like a pre survey of what the MEMBERSHIP wants. We have 41k members and not everyone has the same wants or needs, but as a whole we could have came up with a short list of what the majority wanted and started with that. Its a simple as going out to dinner with your family. If you are married with lets say three kids, does one person always pick where you go to dinner...NO you would be a asshole as a Dad if you did that, you would either take a vote or take turns. If you go on vacation with your family do you decide where you go all the time on vacation, or do you take all your family members request and then make the best business decision, of course you do. But to my knowledge the IUAW did not ask the MEMBERSHIP what was the top priority/s to go into negotiations with. The IUAW has to represent all 41k workers, and at the end of the day, they will have to do what the majority of the membership wants. People often say why does the union protect bad workers for example. Its there job to protect everyone not to pick and choose who they represent. If the contract passes everyone like it or not has to accept that and if the contract gets voted down everyone has to accept that as well. If we end up on strike same thing accept it as well. THATS WHAT WE ARE A UNION AS A WHOLE LIKE IT OR NOT. It would just be nice if the mighty IUAW would look at it this way, it would save a lot of B.S.
  10. Jimmy, Should be looking at going back to the table on get us a real contract to vote on.
  11. Lets remember my entry. CAP voted today, I dont want to spread rumors, but the buzz is the majority is not happy with the contract. Now lets remember your entry. :blah: Then dont start any rumors. We know how easily CAP rolls over Waldo, It may be time to eat your words. :happy feet: CAP 1778 NO 539 YES
  12. GOOD POST Yah, The mayor has signs along Torrence and 130th St, saying that he is working for the improvment of the city, with all the Construction improvments around the Plant, to bad that was all negotiated 4 years ago by Mayor Daily. What a joke. The media should be calling him out. I also agree the Rep at the hall was a joke. I also seen the local union walking the floor, I guess it talkes a contract to get them out on the floor?????????? Im sure you remember the last Chairman, sealed his fate, by trying to push the concessions from the IUAW, WHEN THE MEMBERSHIP SAID NO
  13. GREAT POST. The second reason I voted No, is because we have not had a raise in eight long years and the very notion that a select few would see a raise is not only not fair but non union also. Someone at our Q and A yesterday asked the IUAW rep how they could offer seniority empoyees 6k and a employee with one week in 5k and he stated, thats what Ford wanted the offer to be. WOW There are new people at our plant that are saying they are ready to quit but may as well wait a few more weeks to get there 5k and then leave. Im all for the entry level people getting a raise, Let me say that again, Im all for the entry level people getting a raise, but how about taking 50 cents pre hour from the 3 dollars plus they get and give it to the seniority workers. It might be a good start. Once again Great post
