  1. Profit Shared Earnings Fund... Everyone gets 20K a year in bonuses. this is a great deal!
  2. AMEN, finally someone speaking up.. You know damn well brother that they are going to force that contract down our throats, they are going to say it was the best deal for GM, and that ford should take it so that Chrysler will take it. This is why they killed the Chrysler talks and extended their contract, so that they can lay that BS crap on us that we need to take what GM got so that Chrysler comes in line with everyone because it's such a good deal for everyone. You know they wanna pattern bargain all three companies again so the IUAW at the top can get some quick pocket cash. YES THAT'S RIGHT I SAID IT, ITS A BIG PAYOFF SCAM. Think of the IUAW as being in a box, the box is full with cash to the top, the membership is outside the box trying to get in but it will never happen because they are just protecting their own jobs and pockets. Don't bring that GM contract around here, there is no way in hell were taking that shit. You can walk the plants all you want and try and talk us into it but we see how that went before when you tried to talk us into giving up our rights to strike right? yeah nowhere.. It won't happen again either. I am so tired of getting nothing so I can have a "SO CALLED JOB TOMORROW", people we may not be around tomorrow. Get it while you can, GET IT NOW.. NO MORE SPIN WORDS NO MORE EMPTY PROMISES GIVE IT ALL BACK OR WERE WALK'N I'll buy the Donuts.
  3. here is yet another issue in these plants, why can't the UAW negotiate and bring us in reasonable prices on food and drink.. In most plants pop is not 80 cents, it's 1.10 unless your buying it from a 40Oz machine. Why is the membership being ripped off on overprice bad food from food truck vendors that keep raising their prices? People don't have time to make their lunches and when they do go on lunch they don't have time to go anywhere to buy it. Why are we at the mercy of these food trucks. I say they lower their prices or we get them out of the plants altogether. And I say personally to the food vendors, lower your prices or we will stop buying from you.
  4. At least we won't have to wait too long to be bent over the stool. I don't care what they come up with I'll be voting no.
  5. Lets just do away with IUAW and hire a bunch of lawyers and worker advocates to do what we need them to do. A nice couple weeks protesting out front of the IUAW solidarity house for the ousting of Bob King would work.. Just think if Egypt can do it SO CAN WE!
  6. Yeah the IUAW is realizing that they won't get a "YES" vote on these negotiations, they are pulling themselves off the table for 30 days to regroup so they can bring back to the table something worth while to the rank and file, something they will possibly agree with. Maybe for 30 days Chrysler management can go smoke some dope and drink beers with some of the workers while they are waiting.
  7. I guess you have nothing positive to say or contribute here, you should be banned. Oh boy, company people will be worried about this one..
  8. Electricians are the only ones that die.. lol or they just sit around all day and play cards and complain.
  9. I suggest to our leaders that we negotiate a "Profit Shared Earnings Fund". This will allow all workers of the big three to share in a flat percentage of profit earnings made by all three auto companies. If the IUAW can take over VEBA to get the company off the hook on healthcare, then the IUAW should protect our way of life a lot better then what they are doing. I suggest we have a Profit Shared Earnings Fund put together by the company and IUAW which will allow each worker to benefit from large profits made by these companies especially Ford workers if there is no pattern bargaining. Here is how I propose it should work: We all know that every quarter the company shows billions in profits however there are no new jobs being created and no recoup of the monies we have lost in the past 10 years. While the company keeps showing billion dollar earnings to us each quarter we sit there with our arms up in the air wondering why "I didn't get an equal share of the pie". Lets just talk about Ford for the sake of this argument or proposal to the leadership. Ford has been producing record billions over billions in profit each quarter and all we get is a $600 bonus at the end of the year and a measly 5-$1000 profit sharing (which is based on hours worked) which the company knows they make out on this crappy formula and because most people can't afford to be away from their families more then 40 hours a week that worker is punished because he didn't put in the over time that others did and at the end of the year earns a minimum size profit sharing check which is not right. All workers should get the same thing across the board. We all worked hard, we all did the same jobs all for one team. I propose a 5 to 10% percentage of the profit sharing money Ford makes should be placed in a fund for all workers so that at the end of the year a flat profit sharing check can be distributed from that fund to all workers. Everyone gets a fair share piece of the pie. Everyone is sure to be rewarded with their hard work a reasonable amount of money and not what the company dictates. If you were out on medical for more then 90 days of that work year, you get a minimum amount and everyone on medical gets that same amount. Otherwise you earn a flat share of the pizza pie. For example, if the company reports 1 billion dollars in profit each quarter then 1-10% of that should go into the Profit Shared Earnings Fund (100 million) and the IUAW distributes this money accordingly at the end of the year to it's members less banking and administration fees. This will ensure that we bring the large profit bonuses back to us where they belong, and the company can allow the IUAW to handle it. Now, if the company doesn't report profit earnings for all 4 quarters then a small minimum amount will be distributed by the company (Like we get now $600 after taxes).. NO skin off the company's back and we still get a little something. Listen I'm not saying we should take all the company's profits and my numbers are just examples, but a small percentage will not hurt the company at all and help the workers be prosperous again. If you took even 1% of 1% of the profits each quarter and after taxes and administration/banking costs distributed throughout the membership you would see 10-20k profit sharing checks again. This would also motivate more the workers to provide a better quality product and look for ways to make the company profitable instead of just relying on the company to do it and just sitting back and doing your job. For it will cause the workers to be more proactive. Let me know what you think, your reasons (give me valid ones) and just don't smash me for this post. I want to know the reasoning behind why you think this is not a good idea. My examples talk about Ford, but this would ultimately have to be negotiated for all 3 autos. This way if one auto is not profitable (and they do not take gov money) they still get profit sharing from the IUAW Profit Earnings fund.
  10. Anytime earnings come out, if you don't make what they "PROJECT" it's considered a loss to them so they want us to give up our pay and concessions, so should we project that in 2012 we will make a 10 or 12k profit sharing check, and if we don't we will consider it a loss and then ask the company to take concessions in operation costs and pay us back what we loose?? I say we start running on projections and not actual factual figures like the company does.. Ok for the last 5 years I projected a profit sharing of 10k per year, and didn't get it, so I lost.. So therefore I'm voting NO on this deal cause they didn't give me what I lost.. Lets do the same to them as they do to us.. Lets cry poor mouth on projected losses in our pay and profit and request it this time in our new deal so we can actually get it back! No Pattern bargaining will be tolerated this time. We didn't take government money and we didn't go bankrupt.
  11. Don't worry GM's people will vote yes on it, but our people will be voting NO on it.. It will actually show how loud we speak, for GM that may be a good deal but it won't be for FORD membership rank and file just you wait and see.
  12. Only Smart minds Like Gary know whats going on, and the people who join him are all about Solidarity. Others that put Gary down and don't agree with his opinions are just haters and have no vision for the future. You old people all seem to think it's good enough that you have a job, and in most cases have 5 years to go, so all you do is blast people that speak about standing up for whats right against the company(s) weather it be all 3 or just Ford. Gary W. has the correct mind set, someone that is willing to voice his opinions about solidarity, where we are at and where we are going. Many of you think that just because people do this they are "blow hards", well if our union fathers in the 1940's weren't "blow hards" then your ass wouldn't be working right now making the money your making, getting the days off your getting, getting the extra money at the end of the year or at signing time you get. Remember next time you call people like Gary W, names and put his opinions down, remember where you came from, remember how many nice cars you bought the last 30 years, remember all the nice houses you had the last 30 years, remember the times that you were able to give your kids a twenty dollar bill hear and there just because you wanted too. Remember the places you took your wife for all the paid vacations you had working at Ford (the big three). People like Gary speak the truth, and therefore he is a threat to the company and the top leadership. Get over it because there will be more and more Gary's pretty soon and when more and more start speaking the greedy people at the top better watch out!. I SUPPORT YOU GARY - GO GET'EM
  13. I agree with you Gary, you are so right and the majority of the membership at DTP knows you are right about this stuff. I don't think this contact will pass anyway, why would GM workers sell themselves out again to save a company when they are now reporting profits. All these companies have the money to pay it's workers. Hourly workers make up only 10% or less of the cost of the vehicle. It's time we vote this down and get back what we owned in the first place which is prosperity. I'll be voting no on anything that comes along. Because they are going to low ball us when they know damn well they can get us a better deal, weather it be just Ford or all three. And don't count on Allan making good on his 7,000 jobs claims. There is no way our leaders are going to continue to make the same mistakes if we go out there and protest for our middle class way of life. These companies are greedy now more and more lets take that greed from them!
