  1. A loaded Edge with every option "should" be under $33,000.00...the Edge is still too high. The volume Edge AWD should be under $25,000.
  2. Ford's Ad agency,J.Walter Thompson, should be fired immediately. They have been a dismal failure for the company. It would be a "Bold Move" to give J.Walter the axe,and hire a top flite ad agency.
  3. Ford designers inspiration for the 500/Montego.......
  4. There are tremendous opportuities for people at the dealerships. It's not for everyone, but Ford Motor Company employees have a unique perspective/skills that would be useful at the dealership level. Good for you Darkkon, sounds like you are making the transition well...
  5. If you are referring to the 500/ D3...it is not shit....I only said it looks like shit. Perception is reality, and Ford has to hit home runs. Mustang is in a class by itself...not for long...GM and Mopar have their sights set on it. I agree that Toyota/Nissan/Honda has some ugly vehicles too,but the "perception of quality" gives them a pass.I don't like it...but that's how it is. The biggest blunder Ford has made has been in the PR/marketing area of it's North american business...It started with the Firestone/Nasser blunder.,I feel that Ford has the worst, most inept advertising agency in the auto business. J.Walter Thompson needs to be fired on the spot...before any" Moving Forward."
  6. Woah, big fella..don't get your panties in a bunch. If the Escape is Ford's answer to the crossover, why the Freestyle? Why the Edge? If you are going to play in those markets, you have to have a GOOD MARKETING/ADVERTISING MESSAGE. You are right on one thing the media is not our friend,so any product Ford puts out better be spot on...the Mustang for example was spot on in regard to styling, price and value. The Freestyle/500 Was not on the mark...great driver, and capable, but ugly as shit. Ford wether you like it or not or fair or not, has to be better than everybody else.
  7. Look, The Escape was touted/marketed as a "small SUV". I agree the Escape should have been marketed as "car-like"....it wasn't. The Freestyle/500,while great underneath,is ape-ass ugly. Thrown together because we were late.
  8. The problem is that Ford is late to the party. We should have been in the crossover business 3 years ago. Ford should have had a diesel F-150/Expedition 3 years ago. Fusion should have been here 2 years ago, A 500 like vehicle 5 years ago.
  9. Our customers will pick style over substance....Make the vehicles look great, and they will sell. The "redesigned" 500,escape,expedition are not striking vehicles...are they better underneath the skin?...yes. Will that sell them....no. The last generation F-150 is still very capable even today. If the vehicle just had a complete, stylish sheetmetal change we would have sold just as many as today's vehicle. Dealers have been screaming for a diesel 150 and Expedition for at least 7 years...to no avail. I wish they would have listened to their real customers....the Dealers.
  10. The 500 is as attractive as a baboon's ass....that's the problem.
  11. That's what 99% of the dealers said at the Dealer's Intro Show. This car should be on dealers lots NOW. A lot of L-M dealers might not make it till 2008.
  12. That is truly a "Hot Rod Lincoln".
  13. The Dealership should stick to it's word, however, the dealership OWNS the CAR...not Ford. After the car is invoiced to the dealer,it's the dealer's to sell at whatever price a customer is willing to pay.
