  1. They have that one in South and Central America. Down there is a good city pick up, and is the ranger equivalent. Let´s say a entry level pick up I used to have a ranger, load it with 700# of tile and it was on the floor, and the idea is to make it cheap, $5k less than the ranger´s price tag
  2. I believe is the older focus not the fiesta, very neat looking, it is not used in Europe, but in south and central america instead http://www.ford.com.mx/Photos/photo408/SSCMEX/FORD/COURIER/2012/2PUU4.JPG That picture is from ford mexico website
  3. Indeed, it´s called the "chicken Tax" Imposed to fight against Germany higher taxes on imported chicken, so they would have to pay more for the VW http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicken_tax here is the whole article
  4. It might not pass based on grams of CO2 per liter/gallon used, but it should in grams of CO2 per mile driven. Is really interesting how the EPA measure the pollutant factors, they cannot bring the Citroen C4 (small/mid size sedan) because "does not meet emission standards" but that car, yields ~65 MPG (3.8 liters per every 100km driven, you make the math) but the approve/exempt the big super duty with what, 15 18MPG? that´s over for time the diesel burnt. Therefore, if my math is right, this Citroen C4 burns 4 times worst than the F-350 dually....
  5. I would like the diesel option Bigger gas/diesel tank STICK SHIFT Towing capability Only RH sliding door option (less weight that simply locking the door) Pick up version And the extra foot in length could be a good idea too Lower sticker price (honestly $23k is way to much for some applications)
  6. Well, we might be 3 of a kind, I like small pick ups for several reasons, but to be honest, I want an even smaller size, like the Mexican Courier (focus based) It is a small truck, but loads 1500#, seats two, and gives you about 45 MPG, in Mexico those sell for $13,000 (yes, 13 american thousands). Bring me one I can buy brand new, and finance, here, and I will client number 1
  7. How I see things. I am not familiar with the plan from Ford, I am just an user of their products, in a way of saying. Personally I would like to be able to buy a full size van, with the cargo capacity of a MB Sprinter, and the economy of a Ford Fiesta, and for the price of a VW (in the original meaning) but I know that´s impossible. Now, we can talk over and over about the same things, we want big this, we want small that, make look like this but the actual point is: Ford Transit will be only competitor of Sprinters, I don´t have the sales numbers for that, but there is no day I don´t see at least half a dozen driving out there, and by the way, less than 10% are FedEx´s. I have a painting business, I own several Windstar (ex USPS vans) Why? * Easy mechanics; replace parts in my warehouse with basic tools, cheap to keep running * Decent cargo space; I can fit a lot of supplies and paint * 20 MPG; all of them average 20 to 21 highway (most of them drive about 500 miles weekly) * Cheap to buy, low miles; even though, they are not as many as I would like These trucks have been the backbone of my operation, and yes, i would like more space, more cargo space, sometimes they got filled up quickly with miscellaneous, air compressors, gallon cans of paint, etc. But the options I have are not appropriate. A 12 to 15 MPG full size Econoline will cost me a lot on gas, a MB Sprinter is out of most small business owners budget ( come on, $38k for a work truck??) I don´t expect everyone to drive what I need, but Ford should give me the option to drive what I like, or what my business need, the small connects are nice, but with a price tag of $22k - $24k is very unrealistic. If the idea of Ford is go global, they will not put a different engine on the Transit, I understand the 3.7 from F series is a good candidate, but they should not use the EB, is way to expensive, the 3.2 I5 is the best option, even though, I will consider it big (compare to 2.7 and now 3.0 on the Sprinter) 2.4 will be the best for the small ones (short WB and low roof) Lets say they put the big v6 and the v8 on the transits, would that made them the same that the E series? Whats the gain on that? Other product they don´t offer here, is the Ford Courier (Mexico pick up) a Focus based pick up, about 1500 pounds cargo and about 35 40 MPG?? they sell that one in MX for around $13,000. Can I buy one? I will if they sell them here!! I just have to wait for the Transit or T Series to come up, soon after I will most certainly buy one (if the price is right, about 25 to 28 grand) otherwise, will be a bad move from Ford.
