Since the recall on the 1.6L engines I have been riding a 2013 Edge loaner for about 20 days its funny but I am getting the same gas mileage as I do in my escape Which is about 21 to 22 mpg in the City.

I just purchased in August for 30k and the highest trade value offer was 22,200. I think I could do a little better at carcax. If and when I get my Escape back I will take it to Carmax just to see what they will offer and then make my decision.

I am glad they found the issue so fast but I hope they are not rushing the fix out and just theroizing and they actually have lab studies to prove that it is a software issue and a little software programing will fix it.

With the new fix for the 4th recall maybe we did not get screwed, maybe it was more of a pre ejaculation encounter

Was not a good news in my mind. My fear is, those of us that reach 30k miles quickly and our engines blow and we are out of warrenty, I dont think you will be that cheerful then even though you got to ride in a 2.0 for a little while.

had a deal worked out to trade my 2013 Escape 1.6L to my Ford Dealer today for another used vehicle but when I went in they told me that an order came down that they would not be taking in any of the 1.6 Escapes in on trade. We are definitly screwed.

Wow 85 Escapes? Colorado Dealers are lucky to have 2 or 3 at a time.

How could software cause fluids to leak and catch fire? Good luck trying to get rid of it, I have been shopping around to dump it, even Ford doesnt want it and most other dealers are saying no trade. But you may have better luck with the Titanium

We need to band together and demand a free trade up to the 2.0 or purchase trade value on another Ford Vehicle. I have a feeling that we will not be seeing our vehicles very soon. Or just a plain buy out if you dont want to chance another Ford vehicle

Took my Escape in today to Dealer and they gave me a 2013 Ford Edge as a rental. They said as of now they do not know when I would be getting my Escape back.

hehehe well I thought I would get a better deal since i would hope they could feel my pain. But no such luck, I would lose about 10k on the trade after speaking to 3 ford dealers. Looks like I am stuck unless I trade down. It is something I will really have to think about.

I will never buy a Ford again. I glad your happy with your 2.0 but with this bad quality it maybe only a matter of time before the 2.0 begins to have issues, hope you keep your cheerfull outlook.

Spoken like someone who probably does not own a 1.6L. I guess I was embarrassed because I was spouting off about how far american made cars had come. Total egg on face. Your right about Toyota, they dont get the publicity like Ford when hey screw up. However, can you tell me what recent vehicle has had 4 recalls in less then one year? Oh I know, its the one car model I purchased. This is why I dont go to Vegas, the only luck I have is bad!!!

I think we 2013 Ford Escape owners with the 1.6L are screwed. I talked to the Dealer today and they said they are not even ordering the 1.6L because they can’t give them away because of all the problems. As for a trade they are offering only a 19K which a few months ago was 31k. Basically they do not want the problematic 1.6L Escapes. Talked to Nissan and Honda for a possible trade, they just laughed and said no trade for any amount right now. The worst part is all my friends are laughing because they thought I was crazy to buy a Ford, and I told them “oh no, Ford is really putting out quality”. Never again on American cars for me!!

I am talking to my Dealer tomorrow on trading my 1.6 to the 2.0 we are going to look at the numbers to see what kind of beating I would take if I make the trade. I am getting tired of all the recalls plus my vehicle has excessive rattles and squeaks that they cant fix and a dash panel that keeps popping out that they also cant seem to fix.

I wonder why the Ford tech said nothing about a master reboot when he was talking on the phone with me? I read the instructions on Ford website and it said nothing about rebooting the car, not that I dont believe you and I will try that but If Ford tech cant help you is there any hope at all???? lol I did format the USB to FAT32 so maybe that will work. Didnt seem so complicated, all info said is to download the update files and incert the USB into the car, seemed pretty straight forward I was pretty comfortable with the process until nothing worked.

I tried downloading the update to a USB and was successful but when I take it out to the car, the car does not recognize the USB and the error is USB is not supported. I have tried several USB's but they all have the same error. If the USB was not supported or bad why is it I can download the files from my computer off of the Ford site? I contacted Ford dealer and talked to a rep. He had me repeat the steps and it resulted in the same errors. He said that the USB slots in the car may be bad and might need replacing. oh Joy

I went with the 1.6 SE because I did not like the turbo lag in the 2.0. It was pretty scary when I test drove it an punched the gas to enter the highway from an on ramp. I was pretty sure I would never tow and I wanted to use the extra money for other options, like Panorama sun roof, Ambient Lighting, Dual zone temperature contol, two tone doors and myford touch. Americas always think bigger is better. The only thing I really regret not getting is the Titanium 19 inch wheels, those are sweet!!!!!

Turn GPS on on your phone. Should be under Location or Security, make sure your "Use GPS satellites is checked or on. If you can check your applications, make sure it is running. I have it install but only works 1 out of 19 times. It just cannot connect to the Sync Services.

Just because the people passed it does not mean the Cities will allow it. People forget that State Laws and City Ordinances are not the same. Not that I care. I have taken the Vehicle to the dealer that I purchased it from 3 times to fix the rattles and to try to get the dashboard panels from popping up with no success. When I can schedule, I will give another dealer a shot. Until then I play my radio really loud, unless it suddenly goes mute (another problem I am having that no one can explain for fix).

I dont care who the hell builds it or on what soil. All the parts are basically the same, A part fits into part B and B into C. If mine started to rattle an squeak do you not think yours might start as well. Would you do nothing, say nothing? If it did start to rattle and squeak or have panels poping up would you recommend such vehicle to a friend? I dont think so. I am not happy with the Vehicle and I will say so!!! I am not happy with Ford Service and I will say so!!
