  1. You guys need to come join me in my happy place and accept that we'll get our cars when Ford deems them to be ready. Neither Ford or its dealers can make money selling cars that are sitting in Hermosillo or Flat Rock. I have to believe that getting those cars fixed and shipped is a top priority at Ford. Likewise I'm sure that there is a system of categorizing and organizing cars for shipment. It may not be a quick process but cars do eventually get to the dealers that ordered them. At this point I'm waiting on order info from my sales guy on my new order. He's been responsive in the past so I'm sure that as soon as he knows so will I. I've thought about cancelling my order but ultimately what I really want is a new 2013 Ford Fusion. I'll have this car for a long time hopefully so what's a month or three or five when looking at the big picture. Man, this new medicine I'm on is really working!!!
  2. Beautiful ride sir! I've been waiting to see a Titanium in Deep Impact Blue. That's what I have on order.
  3. I actually like my dealer. They've been upfront with me and they did re-order the vehicle for me. I actually got to add the adaptive cruise to my order as part of the new deal. Now I'm back in the queue waiting for a VIN and build date and ETA. I've got an e-mail out to my dealer asking about the priority but haven't heard back from him yet.
  4. I agree scott029. I've reached the shrug stage with all of this speculation. At this point I don't have a clue when I will get my car. Do I think Ford could have handled this a bit better for the folks that placed orders and have been waiting patiently and impatiently? Of course I do, but I've decided to let it go and live vicariously through other members on this forum who have gotten vehicles and have graciously shared pictures and observations. I understand that ultimately the dealers are Ford's customers and Ford doesn't give them much information either so I'm not surprised when I get treated about the same. I've gone to my happy place and I'm going to stay there until this is all over. On a side note I bought my daughter a new car so that has helped take my mind off the waiting and waiting and waiting. I'm excited because she is excited so that new car smell should help me stay sane for the next month or two.
  5. jeff_h, I think you've hit the nail on the head. I'm sure Ford knows exactly what is going on but is exercising damage control. I'm sure every vehicle is categorized and scheduled to be fixed but there is no way Ford will share this information as a lot of factors come into play. Previous issues with the Ford Escape launch, the Consumer Reports downgrade, have all contributed to Ford trying to keep this out of the glare of the public spotlight.
  6. I just re-ordered this past Saturday. At this point I don't have any info other than a promise they will try and expedite and possibly the end of December for delivery.
  7. Now that's funny....NOT! Ford and incident free launches don't appear to go together do they? My sales guy is as frustrated as I am. He says it's tough to sell cars you don't have and right now he has one Fusion on the lot. They've got a ton of Fusions all showing dealer ordered. Some of them with VINs in the early 101xxx range.
  8. There are a ton of dealers by me that show the same thing. Everyone of them has a lot of Fusions....ON ORDER!
  9. Beautiful car. I love those 19" H spoke rims. I wish I could finally see a Titanium but all I've been able to see so far has been the SE. What do you think of the acceleration with the 2.0L?.
  10. My sales guy sent me an e-mail this morning. They've gone ahead and cancelled my original order that was already built but stuck in TBD shipping hell and they've placed another order for me. He's hoping for a build week of the 1st or 2nd week of December with a delivery before the end of the year. He apologized and said the dealership is in the same boat as I am with a bunch of cars that they are waiting on. It stinks that the clock is getting reset on mine but at least I'm going to get the adaptive cruise control out of it.
  11. So I stopped in today and talked to my salesman. Nothing new to report. Mine shows produced with a TBD shipping date. He knew that there was some issues with a batch of orders but only in vague general terms. His new car Manager was off today but he is going to talk to him tomorrow and see if a re-order makes sense. He said he'd shoot me an e-mail tomorrow. He did tell me that the dealership has a slew of cars on order that appear to be in the same boat as mine. He only has three Fusion. One SE and two dealer trade cars that they went and got for customers. The saga continues I guess.
  12. Akirby, I'd agree with you but what kind of snafu takes weeks to fix and causes cars to have to be shipped off-site and then returned to the factory in Hermosillo. I'm sitting here wracking my brain trying to imagine a scenario that could cause this and I'm not having much luck. It concerns me that I'm going to buy a compromised vehicle with who knows what issues. Throughout this debacle very little information has been forthcoming from either Ford or the dealers. I'm not blaming Ford for trying to keep this under wraps but folks are looking to spend 30K plus and this lack of information on what is going on and when we can expect to take delivery is very frustrating. And to top it off, it now appears that folks who ordered after many of us are going to receive their cars before we do. It takes Ford about a day to build a Fusion from scratch so telling people that they need to wait 6-8 additional weeks for their vehicle really rubs me the wrong way. I'm off on vacation tomorrow so I think I'm going to take a trip to my dealer and see what he has to say.
  13. Frankly, I'm concerned. I can't think of what kind of screw up would cause cars to be delayed until the end of December. In addition I'm not sure I even want a car that has been shuttled around the country several times. I placed my order on 8/30 so I'm at 11 weeks today with no idea when the car will be delivered. This whole saga is leaving me with a bad taste in my mouth and I agree with expresspotato that this Ford experience has been a bad one. I was looking at a Ford Escape for my daughter and now I'm thinking do I want to give close to 60K of my money to a company that has botched two high profile launches in a row. I wonder if I'm just asking for trouble. I'm on the ledge.
  14. If you don't mind can you take a look for me also? 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium VIN : 3FA6P0K95DR154040 Dealer: Van Drunen Ford
  15. Cyberdman, Can you please check again when you have a moment? 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium VIN : 3FA6P0K95DR154040 As always thank you.
  16. I'm replacing a 2001 Ford Ranger with 64K miles. The miles are low but I feel it's time to move on. The wife has a 2009 Honda Odyssey and I'm in the market for a SUV for my daughter at the same time. Looking at the Ford Escape and Hyundai Tucson for her.
  17. Think about how many beige cars you see out on the road. Usually with older folks driving them. I figure they either actually like that color or consider a car to be such an appliance that the color does not really matter.
  18. I was going to mention that it seems the trunk gap is a little larger on the side with the Ecoboost badge versus the side with the Fusion side. I wasn't sure if that's just an angle thing or not. Is is just me or does it look that way to anyone else?
  19. So my sales guy replied back to me with the following info. Certainly seems plausible and fits in with some of the other stuff we have been hearing. My sales guy is a straight shooter so I think he's telling me what he knows. I'm committed. I've waited this long what's another month or so. Sorry for the delay, I was trying to research this for you. From what I have found out they are having some supplier problems in Mexico where the Ford Assembly plant is, so what they are doing is shipping the almost completed vehicles to Michigan for the final touches. I haven't heard if that's going to cause a big delay. I'll keep you up to date on this. I'm still hoping for a November Delivery so I can use this towards my unit counts.
  20. Cyberdman, Can you please check again when you have a moment? 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium VIN : 3FA6P0K95DR154040 Thank you again.
  21. I'd bet money on quality. I have to think Ford is looking to avoid a repeat of the Escape fiasco. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Hermosillo building every previous generation Fusion. You would think they would know how to ship cars from Mexico since they've been doing that for a long time. I'm going to reach out to my sales guy to see what he can tell me.
  22. I got a set of the Weathertechs for my wife's van but I'm not totally sold on them. I've had some issues with edges curling up but they certainly provide a decent level of protection. I'm going to try these in my new Fusion though. http://www.levittownfordsupercenter.com/ford-fusion-floor-mats-weather-rubber-slush-mats-p-1257.html
  23. Why can't I have performance and good gas mileage also? Don't see why those two are mutually exclusive. With CAFE being a corporate average doesn't it make sense for all vehicles to be as efficient as possible?
  24. I saw a white Titanium yesterday on I-294 west of Chicago heading north. First one I've seen on the road. I can't get over what a nice looking car it is. Then on my return trip I saw a car transporter full of new Fusions heading north again. They are slowly trickling in. I read that there are about 9000 Fusions in inventory so far. Also, Ford is finally planning to start advertising the Fusion. Read all about it here. http://www.autonews.com/article/20121102/RETAIL03/311029777/ford-fusion-ad-blitz-stresses-beauty-to-vanquish-rivals
  25. My latest status from cyberdman states; Awaiting Shipment - Origin Received - 44fut2 (Allied Systems Ltd ) Ramp 54, Hermosillo Asy, SO Oct-24-2012, 20:27 MT. Looks like I may be in that group of cars waiting for trains. My sales guy said it should ship by 11/5 so I guess I'll see what cyberdman has to say next week.
