  1. Oh wait, I see you have driver assist. Perhaps the 110volt outlet is part of the driver assist package?
  2. I believe it depends on how the circuit is designed on your laptop. I would guess when plugged in, your laptop is running off the internal battery, and the 110volt connectin goes to the recharger for the internal battery, which should be within the limits of the outlet. And the laptop will be stable, because it's just running off the battery. Just don't run high-wattage devices or critical medical equipment off it and you should be fine. Aside: I thought my Titanium was going to have one, but it's not there. I guess it's only the hybrids? No, wait. bobdivot, your signature says you have a Ti. You have a Ti with a 110volt outlet and I don't? Not fair! Do you have grill shutters?
  3. Yep. Mettech: not worried about the co-buy. I already know about all the dangers. It's a pretty stable relationship, if it fails and we have to break up, I expect one of of us to pay the other for the car. Perhaps for a younger guy, it would be more of an issue. At the time I initially ordered the car, I wanted nice, but not frivolous or expensive. I think the car we ordered is an excellent value. I think in time, options like driver assist and adaptive cruise will come down in price, so...maybe on the next car!
  4. Already the top engine. Already the top trim level. Add: sunroof, navigation, fairly cool 19" rims, and trunk webbing to keep the stuff in place while cornering. Also add the cool Ruby Red paint. Slightly over the top, but the best of what's available. I already came up from a Kia Rio sedan (loaded SX) now co-buying a car with my girlfriend, so I can afford a nicer car. Adaptive cruise?: $1000.00. Car already has cruse, when you get to slower traffic, disengage and use the brake and gas pedal. Driver assist package?: $1000.00. Give me a break. Car notifies me when I wander out of my lane? Wasn't I supposed to be paying attention in the first place? .... Well, now that I've had the car for a while and have read others comments, I think I would have rather had those two options. Oh well, no big deal, maybe next time....
  5. crude: wedge a stick in there. Better: disconnect the actuator. It will then be either full open or full closed. Then set them by hand where you want for testing purposes. Just do the closed test first, to avoid overheating.
  6. When nav first came out in cars, it was a $1000-$2000 option. I couldn't afford a new car, let alone one with nav. 10-15 years later, I got my first Garmin, a Nuvi 350. Portable, I could take it on walks or use it in my car. Plays music, stores photo albums. A few years back, I got a Nuvi 765. Bigger screen, with lifetime life traffic updates. Couple years back, I got my android, with real satellitte images. Voice search for destinations and phone numbers. So no, I don't need one in the car, I could just use my phone. But I wanted to at least once get a car with one in the dash. I do use nav to help me get around to new locations and it has been very helpful. The one in the Fusion has a large screen and gets the job done, but the graphics are about equal to my 350 of years ago. But to me it's still worth it. Everyone has their own price/value level.
  7. I spent a few hours today washing it and cleaning it up. I am amazed at the quality of work for the price. A stunning job. here's my pooch kickin back in the driveway, watchin for cats...: rear spoiler: closeup with water: right rear door handle: I was enjoying the detail and the water and the light: dried and vacuumed, time to put away. (Can't drive it, too many beers)
  8. Vincep: aftermarket? it's possible, but I don't think the market is large enough to justify it. I have to wonder how much of a difference they make. I don't think Ford would put them on there unless they made a positive change to the mileage, significant enough to override the cost. Perhaps I may test them one day, lock them open, lock them closed, (engine temp permitting) and see what the difference is on the instant readout.
  9. One more point I want to make, my girlfriend noticed this, if you fold your side mirrors, stop them before they hit the paint, they just keep on going.
  10. We had to clear some debris, but it can be done: My girlfriend came in kinda tight on the right side there. The garage is a work in progress. I hope to eventually put my V-Max in there.
  11. Well, maybe they're plastic, but they're still cool: All the info I've had up to this point has been some cars have them, some don't. I don't think Ford puts them on randomly, there has to be a reason, I just dont know what it is yet. But I'm glad our car has them. I love technology. Before we got the car, I went to the Ford Etis site, and it said: Active Grilleshutter as one of the options. However, it also said: Less rear seat belts, and I just checked, and there's 3 sets back there. Just wondering how many of you have them, and on which model? Mine is below VV
  12. Toyota needs a new name for their avalon, the New Toyota Catfish XL!
  13. Id be happy to see a bunch of these around instead of a camalticord. Go America!
  14. Elle, yep, I noticed you're up in my neck of the woods. Auburn Ford is actually a couple miles closer to me, but it's all through the mountains to get there. Folsom is just a straight shot down the freeway from me. Great buying experience. Everyone there is friendly. Props out to Tony Pacheco, my salesman and fellow Mustang owner!
  15. The pre-release cars that Ford released for a test drive to the media were driven like sports cars in the hills. I've seen and heard vidios online. When Prius's were really popular a few years ago where I live, it was hard to miss them, because they would have the cruise set at exactly 65 in the diamond lane, with no one in front of them. I also think that Prius and Fusions appeal to two different kinds of people. I think Prius owners may be more inclined to drive gentle, and Fusion people just drive it like a regular car. But everything said here is valid, from winter blend gas to engines not being broken in. Give it time, Darke, the numbers will start rolling in once the weather warms up and people get some miles on their car.
  16. Darke: yeah, on our little drive in the hills, picked up some dust, dog hair and dog slobber, but I'll clean it up next weekend. I'll also post better pics from the Canon. I see what you're saying about the hood looking out of alignment, but I just looked at it, and it's perfectly straight. It must have been unlatched or something, I had the hood up when I was doing my inspection. For all you trunk webbing orderers: make sure you actually get yours. Mine is right on the window sticker, but not in the car. My dealer is ordering another one for me.
  17. Fusion Time: initital order back on August 19 I believe. The ink didn't come out real well on the dealer receit. Strike: thanks, that's a good enough explanation for me to figure out, only I don't have an external site yet, so ya'll have to click on the thumbnails for now. Just got the new issue of maxim today, here's the covers: I also am a Mustang fan (and a fan of Females, did I get that in there?) anyways, here's ours: After picking it up at the dealer (got an excellent price, list minus partner price, plus 1000. factory discount) I took it up in the mountains, and the car did very well. If you really get on the gas, the steering wants to wander some, but it's not hard to control and is to be expected for a fwd car pushing 240 hp and 270 pound of torque through the front wheels. Car is very quiet, handles well in the twisties, has plenty of power.......I almost feel unworthy for such an awesome car, Ford did a killer job on this thing. Great price too!
  18. My salesman just called me. Our car just came in! I havn't even finished clearing out a space for it yet in the garage! And the garage door opener is on the blink too. I'll fix those. Will post pics when i pick it up. Anyone care to tell me how to post full size pictures on here, not the thumbnails? I can't figure it out. 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium, Ruby Red, Navigation, Sunroof, 19" dark h-spoke wheels, trunk net. :headspin:
  19. Akirby, if you only drive 8k a year, there's not much point to go hybrid, with the increase in cost over the 2 liter gas Titanium puts it in the extravagent toy category. It's the same as if I were to order parking assist on mine-I already know how to park (check out this cool feature, Bob!)
  20. If I could get my car tomorrow and it's exactly how I want it, (even if it had adaptive cruise and driver assist package) I would go for it. 4 hour drive no problem at all.
  21. Yep, that's like my order, except with Platinum instead of my Ruby Red. Nice Car. Akirby, I thought you had a car on order, what do you have in mind??
  22. My salesman is cool too, Strike. There is no pressure from him. We talked about cars, we both have Mustangs, (of course mine is way cooler than his, even though his is newer) and I just told him what I wanted. I already had it commited to memory, and I put my $500 down on August 19.
  23. Corey, did you custom order it or buy it off the lot?
  24. My own comparison has been on going for the last few years. I wanted a four-door, so my Mom and my Dog could ride in the back, because it's hard for my Mom to get in the back of my Mustang. Cars I've considered: Sonic sedan: nice, but a little narrow, and the taillights a little too tall. Verano: quiet, perhaps a little too rounded, overall doesn't really stun me. Focus sedan: nice, but twin-clutch tranny not sorted out, no turbo. This car then turned into a car that my girlfriend and I could own together, to use like a commuter car for work (we work in the same building) which doubled the amount we could spend so the list now included: Rio Sedan Dodge Dart Kia Optima Kia Sportage Hyundai Elantra These all got eliminated for the following reasons: Rio Sedan: My Girlfriend didn't like the engine sound, and since it's made in Korea, you can't custom order it, so we'd have to search around until we got one exactly how we wanted. The dealer also had Sportages and Optimas, so I guess the Rio didn't make it past contender status. Dart: I got swept up in this one, but the more I looked at pictures of it, the more under-whelmed I got. Plus at launch, the twin-clutch auto was not yet ready for the turbo engine, so no deal. Elantra: Also got all excited about this one, but I didn't stay excited about the body design, plus we could now afford something nicer. Sportage: I like this, we would have got one of these with a turbo, but I guess it didn't quite trip the buy-o-meter. Optima: the last condender against the Fusion. Like the exterior design, but it's already lost it's edge I feel. I prefer the Fusion in all exterior views except from the rear, I really like the Optima taillamp design, but it doesn't have the Titanium lit eyebrow effect....I also like the glass roof, double sunroof in the Optima, but the interior just isn't happening for me. It actually took me a while to warm up to the Fusion. It seemed like the sides were too slabby, and the back wasn't that great. But I love the front end, and everything I've read and seen tell me this will be a great car for us. I think Ford really did a good job.
