The lighting kit does not tie into MFT. It needs a separate switch, which in very non-intrusive. The thought just came to my head that even those with Titaniums could have their dealer install the kit. Like Gkinla said, you can specify where you would like the lights to be. That way you can light up each cupholder and the center open storage area under the dash.

No, there are no lights in the door handles. Only four lights total. The photos are two second exposures so the lights are not as intense as they appear. Pushing the button gives you eight different color options. I'll always use the dark blue. I'm going to check out how difficult it will be to move the bin light over to the second cupholder when I have time in a couple of weeks.

Ford is now making Ambient Lighting available as an option of the SE trim level. The lighting kit can also be ordered by your dealer for $249 and they'll install it for $90. I had my 2013 FFH SE done on Monday, but if you want it you should do it ASAP since the installation actually takes four hours of labor instead of the one that Ford thinks it will take. The instructions from Ford state that one light should be installed in the center console storage box. This ends up being not very effective and you should instruct the technician to put that light in the second passenger cupholder. The button to control the lights is put behind the cupholders. They are not controlled by MFT. They come on when you open the door and when the parking or headlights are on. I also had the illuminated door sills installed at the same time. These really top off the luxury interior look of the Fusion.

If the update is done correctly by the dealer (which seems to be rare) a hard reset isn't necessary. Mine was done four weeks ago. My average mileage since then is 44.3 mpg. The average for the previous 9700 miles was 37.0 mpg. 80% of my mileage is at 65-75 mph.

It took me less than one minute to fix two letters.

The extra thick version is much easier to use. It only takes a small amount in the center of the letter so that no excess oozes out. My finish looks factor fresh.

My FFH is an offical ace. It has scored "kills" over Nissan, Toyota, Honda, VW, BMW and Mercedes.

I've had my 2013 FFH for more than 9 months now. During that time it has never let me down, but the average MPG has been 37.2, which has mainly been due to my spending most of my time at 65-75 mph. With the new software, I am now averaging 43.8 mpg. I am consistently getting more than a 6 mpg increase on most of my trips. EV time above 65 mph on level or slight down slope freeways is the biggest contributing factor. It also seems to go into EV earier on city streets.

If you don't want to take your car to a dealer to fix loose letters, use extra-thick cyanoacrylate (super glue) available at hobby shops. Two of my letters are now permanent.

If I'm going down a hill at 63+ mph, I don't want my FFH in EV mode. I want the battery to be charging during this time.

Ford recommends oil changes every 10K on the Hybrid. I'm going to do the first one on my Hybrid at 5K (1.2K to go), then 8 K after that with synthetic, which is what it comes with.

The first picture was taken at an Auto show before production started. It has the Sony Audio, which you can't get with a Dune enterior. The enterior rendering from the Ford site also doesn't show the door panels as they are being shipped. Attached is a photo of my Hybrid with a Dune enterior. I prefer it to the black section shown on Ford.com.

This is what I think rkan meant: All designs consist of compromises. Unless you're willing to spend 85K+, I think the 2013 Fusion is one of, if not the best car designs ever. Size, style, capacities, comfort, price, performance, etc could be better in any car, but for the Fusion, none are compromised to a point that they are a real issue. It's a car average drivers can afford but still make them feel "upper class".

Several sections of the Fusion Hybrid's Owner's Manual are poorly done, and the fact that it talks about a spare tire when neither the Hybrid or the Energi come with one is an example.

The chart in this video pretty much matches the MPG I am seeing (Average 36), which I am very happy with. I bought my Fusion Hybrid with this order of priority: 1) Looks 2) adequate performance 3) Comfort 4) Safety 5) Mileage. Good MPG was a bonus I got. I do question Ford's EPA strategy. I feel they would have sold just as many cars by stating the figures as 47 City, 41 Hwy and by stating how different equipment levels can affect mileage.

If you're going with gas, I think it's better to pay more and go with the 1.6 (now that it's fixed) instead of the 2.5. I would have paid $3100 less if I had gone with 1.6 SE equipped the same as my SE Hybrid. I keep my cars for 8 or more years, so I'll probably make up that difference, but even if I don't, I have no doubt I made the right choice. I'm anything but an environmentalist, but it feels good spending less money on gas. The extra I spent goes to North America, not the Middle East. I also really like the fact that the ICE is not running in my garage. Quietly backing out of it is a real joy every morning. I'm also getting tired of statements about "the severely poor MPG on the hybrid (35-40mpg)". Severely poor? Give me a break. Even if you drive 70 mph+ on the highways, you'll end up with at least 38 mpg. It's not 47, but as ghent said, you're not going to get EPA numbers from the 1.6 (or 2.5) either at that speed.

After making a quick stop last night, which warmed the car up, the summary for my 8 mile trip home at 45 degrees temperature was 42.3 mpg. This included six miles at 60-65 mph. My lifetime average is 36 mpg. There has to be something unusually wrong with yours.

I can't remember: does your Fusion slow down excessively when you coast?

For me, it looks like too many other cars. It's also $10,000 more than I paid for my SE.

nmadole: Your trip summaries make me really question the accuracy of the readings we are getting. All the numbers for your warmed-up trip should result in a higher MPG, unless you were flooring it when you were on the ICE. With 67% of the trip being on EV, you should be in the 40s.

This mirrors my experience almost exactly. My screen is very clear, however. I haven't done much with the navigation and haven't tried to pan the map. I have had trouble with Sync understanding my address and city imputs. I was able to put most of my favorite songs on a $12 flash drive from Target over the weekend. I've never had them accessable from one source before (I've been way behind the times). I'll probably spend a lot of quality time out in the garage just listening to them in my FFH.
