  1. I think the person originally commented on fordedgeforum.com. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19616-any-2016-edge-sightings-yet/
  2. holy crap that's expensive. It's going to be one heck of a car though. I'm all about the AWD. It's a shame that there aren't more AWD hatchbacks out there.
  3. Does the sync connect system use the same cellular modem available in this accessory for the 2015/16 Edge? http://www.levittownfordsupercenter.com/ford-edge-remote-start-system-cellular-access-p-3557.html
  4. they're adding an embedded modem apparently and that is additional HW.
  5. x plan is over invoice? yikes. oops. Well I didn't use x-plan. Sorry about the bad advice davidceder
  6. I think the package savings are the same for the entire model year. So there is no possibility for that incentive to go away. Also, go on the X-Plan pin request forum and request an x-plan PIN. If you use the x-plan I think Ford forces a maximum doc fee of $199, so that may give you greater savings even though the sale price of the vehicle will be a bit more than $400 under Invoice, I think.
  7. I sure hope it started! This page still says 12/15 and it was updated on 12/14 http://www.donlen.com/buildstart-trucks-ford.html
  8. I don't know the exact specs of the 20/21" wheels, but the tread pattern and tire width are the biggest parts of the traction equation. I had 275 width winter tires on my car and I slid all over, when I stepped down to 245s traction was noticibly better because there was more weight per square inch in the surface area of the tire in contact with the ground. This makes the car "cut" deeper into snow and you'll have a better chance of actually touching pavement if the roads are snow covered. http://www.tirerack.com/winter/tech/techpage.jsp?techid=126
  9. My hope is that the sync head unit would have a unique ID and that is what is tracked by the over the air update system and not the vehicle VIN or something else. So once that head unit registers with the cloud it would get updates automatically.
  10. Why on earth would dealers play dumb in this day and age? Not only are there many methods available to track your vehicle, but bad reviews spread fast with online reviews and social media... My dealer has been very honest so far and I am surprised that they would lie to me if they could get the VIN. It's just weird. They were up front about pricing, ordering availabiltiy, order submission, etc. Why lie about not being able to get the status. And then why does Ford's customer service # still say my order is "in order processing" when it has been scheduled for over two weeks now? They have said multiple times that there was no VIN available!
  11. My dealer had this exact problem back in the beginning of November. It took them about 5 minutes to figure out that the "old" system was still working and they placed my order and I was out the door in 45 minutes.
  12. Ok, in the hope of helping other people nervous about their builds here's what I have found out. I tried various methods of getting order status. My dealer still says there is no VIN assigned and no build is scheduled. So does Ford's official customer service phone #. However, if you PM FordService (on FordEdgeForum.com or some other car specific forum. For some reason they have no presence here), they can tell you if you have a VIN when those two sources say you dont. cyberdman in the vehichle tracking forum also gives the VIN when the dealer says they don't have it yet. This is only in my experience. But my best guess is that there is an internal order tracking system that certain Ford employees have access to that will spit out the VIN when the build is scheduled for a week, but not yet a day. I recommend contacting FordService or cyberdman (through the tracking forum). There is another member who has been helpful in giving out info, but I won't name him as I think he is helping out of the kindness of his heart. But it's easy to figure out who that person is!
  13. Do you think it stayed at the factory due to a factory hold? I thought they normally shipped out the day after they were build if there were no holds.
  14. I had a gut feeling that there was still an order backlog for the 15s. Dealer inventories are still low around here.
  15. I saw that yesterday. Thanks for making sure I did! Now the wait for the build can begin!
  16. Hi cyberdman, Can you let me know if order 1026 from dealer F41081 has been updated? Thanks!
  17. Ford Pinto... just kidding. Something similar happened to the latest Dodge Durango during a parade a year or so back. I guess it's a new feature for people that are underwater in their loans. I guess the press driving the car didn't know not to push the "flame" button.
  18. are they doing any scheduling today or should I even bother to check my status this week?
  19. thanks for the replies. My dealer didn't really say much about what orders were ahead of mine. They've been pretty straight forward with me so far. My salesperson has always responded quickly to my questions, but of course if somebody has a higher priority than me, it'd be in their best interest not to tell me as I could order from another dealer theoretically. I suppose I just have to be patient.
  20. I'm just curious, since it's a short week. Will any orders be scheduled this week or should I just hide under a rock for another week before trying to figure out if an order is scheduled? From what I heard orders are normally scheduled on Thursdays after dealers get their allocations on Wednesday. Also, is there a list of holiday schedules for plants? I figured I'd ask.
  21. Hi cyberdman, Can you let me know if order 1026 from dealer F41081 has been accepted/scheduled by Ford? It's a 2016 Edge Titanium AWD with Too Good To Be Blue paint (paint code LC) Thanks!
  22. Yeah that really isn't much of a sale. Any price over invoice really is a bad one in my opinion. Not that I think dealers don't deserve any profit, but there's a 3% cushion minimum at invoice that is pure profit. Add to that kickbacks for financing, warranties, dealer installed options etc. They can still make a pretty penny at invoice.
